In general, does BL feel like a Yagawa game, or does it retain the Cave "feel"? Personally I could never adapt to the patterns in Pink Sweets and gave up on the first stage.
Feels like Cave, definitely, it's just the scoring system and the balancing that feels slightly different. It's in no way Pink Sweets/Ibara hard though.

And Espgaluda II is pure shmup sex (changing), you fuckers don't know what you're talking about.

cools, I just spent 5 minutes laughing at your signature, I even had to go back to check that was a legitimate faux pas!

I thought you liked to fly space ships, and not fairies? And I saw you wanted a Futari now? I didn't think you wanted to shoot bugs.

Yeah, it is funny. I realized after I wrote it. I was like, "man, I set myself up there"

Anyway... Back on topic - I got DFK 1.5 back. Gonna try to score a bit more.

I really wish I liked BL... But I just don't.

Yup, I used to play the Saturn port a lot but the graphics resolution (and all jap text to a lesser extend) always put me down. I don't regret the PCB purchase a second. Way better than the Sega Saturn port. SOM is on the way from japan.

Yojo,

Is that a real copy of Alcon? I have two bootlegs copies that I never built converters for that look similar to that. My Jamma version though is a blue PCB. Also, did you get that off of KLOV?

I recently sold a genuine Taito of America produced Alcon Jamma PCB and it was an original one with blue colored dual layered PCB setup. It wasn't sold to yojo! though but to another fellow shmupper instead. It worked like a charm. On the PCB itself, it says “Made In Japan” for the USA region Alcon PCBs...if that little phrase ain't mentioned on a bootlegged Alcon/Slap Fight, then you already know instantly that it ain't the real deal. Interesting to learn that there were bootlegged versions of Alcon/Slap Fight made back in those days.

Yes it is original ; it came from a kit. Alcon was released two ways; the first was based on Tiger Heli hardware (non jamma, 22 pins) see here. It does have the "made in japan" writting. The second version is the more common blueish PCB which is dedicated hardware w/ JAMMA pinout, it also has the taito label. This cimplete my tatio slap figt collection nicely.

Can you take a clearer pic of your PCB? I'm wondering if what I have aren't real versions then. I have 2 of them sitting in boxes in my laundry room.

My camera isn't that good; but you can find really great pictures of both layers here and here.

Cheer to that! Lethal Thunder (International) is the superior version to Thunder Blaster (Jpn), the latter being more of a button mashing competition.

What exactly is the difference between the versions? I thought they both had the button mashing/increase shot/increase score mechanic?
