OSSC (DIY video digitizer & scandoubler)
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Actually I do not know how to preorder one OSSC?
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Has anyone tried the linetriple/720p with a micomsoft xcapture-1?
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Whenever I've cleared all the stock basically. If you've had an invite you can order any time as long as there's still units in stock.@BuckoA51, when's cutoff date for the 50% for the first 126 to pay up?

@BuckoA51, thank you for the reply back. So I guess those of us under 200 will just have to wait a bit for an order/purchase link.BuckoA51 wrote:Whenever I've cleared all the stock basically. Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Not sure if this has been confirmed but the Sony Bravia KDL-42W653A doesnt work with Linetriple mode
Also I have my NTSC Frontloader NES (NESRGB Mod) hooked up and the OSSC is reporting it as 262p, is this correct thought it should be 240p?

Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
262 lines is correct for 240p, or 525 for 480i. 240 are only the visible lines.
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
OK thanks.blizzz wrote:262 lines is correct for 240p, or 525 for 480i. 240 are only the visible lines.
Do any settings need to be altered from default from a SNES Mini with the RGB mod??, as the OSSC is detecting a signal but the res is constantly changing on the OSSC display??
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Try to set 'Analog Sync LPF' to max and see if that helps.
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Yep that worked, can set it to 'med' as which also works, thanks!!. Does having this setting enabled have any negatoive effect on other systems or is it fine to leave it set to 'med' for all systems?blizzz wrote:Try to set 'Analog Sync LPF' to max and see if that helps.
Im noticing some interference on the screen on both my NES and SNES, im using cables from retrogamingcables so there not cheap cables. Is this normal with the display being 480p on a Sony Bravia?
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Interference like a very faint vertical trembling in places? I think this is normal for some systems, though it should be barely noticeable (much less so than it was on the XRGB3 for example).
Interference like noise over colours shouldn't be happening in my experience.

Heres a video i took of the issue on the SNES....

Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Does the W653A have reality creation and if so then do you have it turned on by any chance?
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Yeah think ive seen that option, not sure if i have it turned on... am using input HDMI2 for the OSSC, as for some reason if i run it through my av amp the display is 16:9 for some reason. Ill have to look at the settings and see if reality creation is enabled or not on HDMI2 inputkel wrote:Does the W653A have reality creation and if so then do you have it turned on by any chance?
EDIT: reality creation is turned OFF. The only advanced options i have turned on are, Detail Enhancer and Edge Enhancer, maybe its one of them causing the issue
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
no, they won't. Does the LPF setting on the OSSC (not the sync LPF!) affect what you're seeing ? I found that some systems work better with certain LPF settings than others. The only advanced options i have turned on are, Detail Enhancer and Edge Enhancer, maybe its one of them causing the issue
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
My SNES and my Megadrive show a tiny bit of trembling like that too, but you really have to look for it. XRGB3 was way more prone to it.

BenQ BL2405HT - Works with LineTripple mode (Source Amiga A1200 and MegaDriveII )
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00EQ0P7K8
Havent tested 480LineDouble yet as I need to hook up the PS2 for that
Since the bezel also rotates, I alos need to try out a vertical scroller and vertscanlines

Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
once you rotate your screen you don't need the option for vertical scanlines any longer. The standard horiontal ones will be the right ones.Since the bezel also rotates, I alos need to try out a vertical scroller and vertscanlines
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
So one should record footage at 1280x786 for linetripled 240p, right?blizzz wrote:262 lines is correct for 240p, or 525 for 480i. 240 are only the visible lines.
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Calle, no. You only capture the visible lines. So 240 x 3 = 720.
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Aight, gotcha. Thanks, blizzz!
Also found out that the feed from my SNES (non 1-chip) cuts out on the SC-512 even though sync is stable. I was able to fix it by changing the HDMI/DVI bandwidth to 175% in the driver (latest Micomsoft driver, 160). Works perfectly now. It also made 480i material look a bit more stable. The card doesn't seem to like interlaced content over HDMI/DVI though.

Sorry for hijacking the OSSC thread with FM talk FWIW, I only just learned of the OSSC on the weekend and now plan on ordering one when my next pay hits my bank account, cos it sounds like an amazing piece of work.
I wouldnt worry about not having the funs for the OSSC just yet, *get yourself in the queue now* , they wont have a unit for you for months at this rate
I think as Matt said, hopefully before xmas
They dont charge you a £ until they have a unit to ship you
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Linetriple looks mesmerizing on my LG OLED 55EF950V. 480p X2 also works perfectly.

@BuckoA51, thanks again for the response. I'm hoping that half of those 36 don't respond back to you.BuckoA51 wrote:Yep, I've got 36 left and will be sending out 36 more invites tomorrow.
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Another weird request: 240p passthrough possible?
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
So, I've noticed some funny interference that seems to be in the sync on my NESRGB Twin Famicom that I never saw with my GBS-8220 and Gefen Scaler combo...
Especially bad in vertical scrolling games like Xevious, when the screen is scrolling vertical, there is a very pronounced horizontal "wave" visible where every few scan lines is offset from the other, back and forth. This is very noticeable on the edges of the visible pixels, but it is affecting the whole scanline.
When the scene is still it looks fine, but when the vertical scrolling start, the wave starts at the top of the screen and works it's way down until it is visible across the whole screen. When you go back to the title screen, it looks normal.
I'll grab a video when I get back from the office. I tried some searching for similar issues, but I'm not sure if I'm using the right terminology....
