Hey guys, sorry I haven't been by lately. Just got back from my vacation and now I've got the flu or I'd be going over today. Happy new year everyone. I'll play some more Jamestown in preparation for re-entry into shmup life.

Woo woo

Got that MAME setup working yet?

Which reminds me, we still have some older PCs lying around if you want me to grab some parts. The Intel ones aren't great since it's some weird form factor, but the AMD ones are standard microATX boards, with an Athlon 64 3800+, could probably find 1GB of RAM, and a PCI Express slot. Not sure how they would be for MAME, I should fire one up and try it out ...

Correction: They're 3200+ processors, running at 2GHz.

Way too slow. Thanks though.

I honestly haven't fired it up since it fucked up that day on Brendz and I!

It's probably fine now.

Maybe fire it up this evening and see....who knows

Either way, I'm sure I could convince Brendz to bring out Galuda 2 for the day 8)

I definately need to come down to Toronto for one of these meets soon. First on my list though is to find a job so I can do that :P
I only have a Street Fighter IV Tournament Stick for 360 but it works well enough for Shmups I find.

Giving Galuda 2 no true awakening mode run another try would be cool.

Maybe tonight....

I honestly haven't been playing games at all lately. Spend most of my free time working on music these days.

I will make sure to test it before the next meet.

Actually, you'd be surprised. I just fired one of them up today with 768MB of RAM in it, installed XP, and on MAME 143u9 it'll run DOJ, Bakraid, Batsugun, CPSII, Neo Geo, pretty much everything 100%

Anyway they're here, we have a few of them, and they're likely not going anywhere anytime soon.

They're HP small form-factor boxes, but it's a standard microATX motherboard, so you could pull it and mount in another chassis or just open in a cab. It's also got a full-sized PCI-E slot for a graphics card and two SATA ports with RAID support.

hmmmm...well put one aside for me just in case. Thanks 8)

Main issue would be finding a semi modern PCI-E card that still supports soft15khz.

Either way, good for a backup.

I think the on-board video should be fine? It's an ATI Radeon Xpress 200 integrated adapter.

Otherwise, I see in the Soft15kHz thread on arcadeinfo.de that Radeon 3450 and 4350 card are supported, which should be easy to find and pretty cheap (~$40)

Might work. I've found that often times on-board stuff wont work with soft15khz because they use modified proprietary drivers, which soft15khz doesn't like.

Sorry guys, I thought I was over this cold, or I have caught a new cold from my bitch ass co-workers, but I am hacking up a lung so I am canceling tomorrows meet.

Sorry for the short notice, but I don't want to get anybody else sick. :|
