That Atari Inc. produced Space Duel is an ol' favorite of mine...the Tilt! arcade in Modesto, CA used to have it. I, personally, like playing the mode where you control/fire both ships at your disposal.
Dave, did your SD cab come with a subwoofer? The SD cab that I used to play at Tilt! back in 1982-1984, had a cool subwoofer inside. Made blasting those cool geometric shapes all the better! Tilt! had a special promotional deal...all games that had a green star on them would give you two games for the price of a quarter including both Atari Inc. vector based cabs of SD & the uber-rare Black Widow (a cool spider/insect themed Robotron clone circa 1983). So sometimes, there'd be some free games just waiting to be played. I'd play them and reap the benefits.
It was cool to give SD another spin at the recent 2011 CAX show. That particular cab did have a subwoofer in it as well.
Another cool shmuppy Atari vector game to check out is Major Havoc with it's shmup-inspired stages. The framerate on a MH cab is insane. It's cranked up really high & quite impressive for a color-vector based arcade game indeed.
PCEFX, original SD cab has four 6-7" speakers, two under the marquee, and two under the control panel, turning the entire cab into a giant subwoofer...resulting in that huge booming sound with explosions.

Wow, that's cool to hear. I always assumed that it was just a single subwoofer mounted somewhere inside the SD cab. Props for Atari for going the multi-speaker subwoofer route with their SD cab. So dramatic with the thunderous booms and sound effects/BGM.
Quite a compact PCB too, not much bigger than Dogyuun.
Great work! I was considering snagging that very PCB (at least I assume it was the one for sale here recently). How;d you like it. I know it tends to polarise opinion.
EDIT: I'm confusing myself.
It was Fixeight I was tempted by here. It's eight Forces I know divides opinion!

I thought it was pretty bad... either way Outzone KILLS it.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?
This game surprised me very positively. It's like Gradius except without most of the stuff people tend to hate about Gradius. It looks awesome and the music is the genuine '91 shmup fare!
