Here's my run of Gradius V on Very hard difficulty: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7ZpU9EJnbc
Quite a bit harder than normal difficulty, the rank appears to be the same as around loop 4 except for there are no suicide bullets from normal enemies.

This might be my favorite Gradius game, the only thing really holding it back is the length. A single loop clocks in around 70 minutes.

Odd Mobs Zero: Arrange 1-ALL (using Type A)

1-all I recorded for Odd Mobs Zero: Arrange. Anyone mind explaining how I got into the second loop? I'm pretty sure I died 3 or 4 times in this run and the loop requirements I read is to not die more than once.

That crimzon clover boost clear is great to watch, it's sad that there are not that many videos of highscoring runs.

Liking the shmup weekly vids. I'm never around for the live streams, but it's cool to be able to catch up a bit.

I uploaded the replay of my 5+ trillion run in Crimzon Clover: World Ignition: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utgHIk9Q7Xo

I've been waiting for youtube to support 60 fps, but it still doesn't look smooth to me. Oh well.

Looks smooth here. Supposedly it doesn't work in Firefox yet, but works in Chrome and Safari, maybe IE?

Ah, I just had to turn hardware acceleration off. It was causing the video to run at like 35-40 fps. I've been uploading a bunch of Bayonetta videos lately and haven't had that problem, so that was weird.

In other news, if you've uploaded a 60 fps video in the past, you can force youtube to reprocess it by saving an enhancement (without actually changing anything). This bumped my Akai Katana Zetsu and Mushihimesama Original replays up to 60.

1CC of my first 2 Loop Shmup clear of Raiga: Strato Fighter. It's not too tough of a game when you're powered up, but there's a massive difference between max power and minimum power, and key powerups can be few and far between (there's only two Beam Rifle pickups per loop which are unbelievably useful, unless you get lucky with the random item carriers in stage 5), so it's easy to learn the stages, but you get punished hardcore for making a mistake.

It's got one of the toughest recoveries from death of any shmup I've played, and that includes ones with checkpoints! It's a no checkpoint shmup where, dying late in the game could instantly sap 5 lives before you can recover because your weapon and speed are so screwed. Or get a gameover.

Samidare 1cc. Definitely want to try to improve this score at some point, because it's actually kind of sucky.

Congrats on the run LordHypnos. How long did it take you to get that?

I cleared Flame Zapper Kotsujin on Very Hard earlier this month, but never got around to talking about it here. I recently did some annotations, but don't expect the annotations to be too good (and I sort of just typed random stuff since I got tired of annotating the video at some point).

Flame Zapper Kotsujin Very Hard

Its a pretty rough run mostly because I'm still getting used to the idea of dealing with suicide bullets. I remember dying more than I wanted to on stage 4. I sort of did attempt this back in October and remembered how Very Hard wasn't that bad. I just needed to figure out how I should approach each stage without risking the run too much.

Well, luckily Samidare's practice mode keeps track of how many times you've played so I can give you close to exact numbers on it, although it doesn't count how many times you play the normal mode, but I used the practice mode a lot more except for for the first stage. The other number, if you're wondering, is number of lives which goes up or down depending on how many times you die.

Looks like a fun game, I might check it out some time in the near future

Yeah, suicide bullets can be hard. I do really like the feeling of intensity that they add though, that's pretty cool.
