What [not shmup] game are you playing now?

Anything from run & guns to modern RPGs, what else do you play?

Trying to get into BlazBlue CS2 as Jin. But holy shit, this is a lot to remember for combos. I mean, just look at this list...http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthre ... New-Combos

Anyone else play this?

I play Blazblue quite a bit. I main Mu-12. The combos can be quite long, but once you start getting the pattern of them down, it's not so bad.

It's way easier than it looks. 5F autofire makes dropping combos almost impossible once you learn to delay the button presses because of the underwater gameplay.

Finally got SMT: Nocturne/Lucifer's Call and it is brilliant. Just took down Matador after some prep only to be owned by Thor. Good times.

I finally got to the Land of Carnage in Disgaea 2, but I'm not sure what to do here. Leveling up items is rough-going, slow. You can play the main game in a different form in the Land of Carnage, right? Is that worthwhile? I still need to finish the main game and get Tink's ending. Tink and Taro are really leveled up nicely!

No-missed Elevator Action Returns assuming that'd get me a good end. Turns out the ending where the nuke explodes in the protagonist's face *was* the good end. LOL TAITO.

Been playing Zombie Gunship any chance I get. It takes the best part from the COD series and mixes it up with zombies. an absolute STEAL and $.99. And no, you don't have to buy anything else "in game" once you get it ( a real pet peeve of mine).

Rusty Hearts and Terraria. I made some progress in the former (Wine Cellar Dungeon unlocked!), but I'm a bit too busy mining for materials in the latter. At least I don't have to encounter Sandworms during the mining operation.

Aliens: Infestation (DS). I've been burned out on 2D Metroidvania games for a while, but I love this. It may be the best Aliens game I've played. The atmosphere is reminiscent of some of the better Dark Horse comics. It's not particularly scary, but the tension comes from permadeath. You only have one save file, and once a marine is dead, they're DEAD. They're not just faceless grunts either; each has a distinct look, dialogue, and animations full of personality.

Just downloaded Odin Sphere off of PSN yesterday. Seems a lot tougher than I remember Muramasa being, but I never managed to finish Muramasa either. Really like the art style in Odin Sphere too, holds up pretty well today.

Other than that, I've been playing mostly Disgaea 4 recently.

Wipeout 3.
Damn, this game is pretty. If you run it at 640x480 and used bilinear filtering on the textures [e.g., ran it in an emulator], it'd almost look like a first generation PS2 game.

Running at the native 512x240 and no filtering keeps it looking like a PS1 game, but still a very, very pretty one. Clean, detailed textures, very efficient polygon usage [it looks like there are more polys than actually exist], and the game feels like a total refinement of XL, although XL feels a bit faster.

Unlocked all the standard tracks in Vector class, trying to unlock the prototype ones now.
Need to stop dying on Terminal, I find myself on the last lap, in first, barely any energy left, and bam, I hit a wall/get shot at and die.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Finished Hot Persuit and am now playing Shadow Complex that's been in my backlog for 1½ years  Can't believe it took me this long. The game is really awesome. Feels like a Metroid game with a fresh coat of paint.

I've been through Shadow Complex twice now (first playthrough, then a second one for 100% completion.) One of the best gamex on XBLA in my opinion. Interestingly enough, the copy of Hot Pursuit I bought last year hasn't come out of its shrinkwrap yet...

You should be playing Wipeout 3 Special Edition (PAL only) instead before your save goes too far :p You get lots of wo1 and wo2047 tracks and more prototype tracks to unlock.

Bah, I only found out about that after unlocking the first prototype track and whatnot.
I heard the physics are a little different, is this a change for the better [I should probably just play and see myself, but... :P]?

edit:
Woah! So many little things are fixed! The UI feels nicer, you can read the bloody font, and the control is definitely improved. Also, classic tracks are great!

Was impressed to see such a large modding community and active servers. Still getting the hang of it. Game looks great though.

I'm a lucky boy in that I've been playing a lot of Uncharted 3. I'm an idiot - I've had it for a fortnight and only started last night.

It's great, but Driver San Francisco is still my obsession (I've now 100%'d every main mission and every sidequest (hidden objects, 'Dares', 'Movie Challenges' etc), and got every non-online multiplayer Achievement. Just U-Play missions to go!).

Oh - and me and the wife finally cracked open New Super Mario Bros Wii.

Y's: the Oath in Felghana. Surprisingly challenging for a JRPG, the ice dragon boss is tough.

I tried out Ghost Squad last night. It was pretty decent for a Sega light gun shooter. I should play it more before I make any other judgments on it.

Mostly been on a Sonic kick lately in preparation for Generations. Colors was pretty good aside from two kinda shitty parts, Unleashed had some of the worst level design choices I've ever seen in a platformer, and now I'm on Rush, which is pretty awesome aside from stages murdering me way too easily. Bosses are cool, Hideki Naganuma soundtrack is good, and the bonus stages are much better than I anticipated. Pretty pleased overall.
Why is it called the Vic Viper/Warp Rattler? Because the Options trail behind it in a serpent-like fashion, and the iconic front fins are designed to invoke the image of a snake's fangs.
