Or maybe he heard Ikaruga described as "intense black on white action" and got the wrong idea.

It's not listed as pre-owned so it's brand new. Still a bit insane, but not quite as insane.

I've got the clamshell version, complete. I'd part with it for a lot less than that! Really nice game, but come on.

499,999.99 USD for an Atari 2600 game.
http://cgi.ebay.com/GAMMA-ATTACK-Atari- ... 0200197457

The seller claims that less than 20 of this were sold. I wonder if anyone ever told him that there are a number of games of which only a handful exist, for instance the Nintendo World Champonshp gold cart. And still no-one would pay half a million for one ;)

How high is the starting fee for an auction like this?

Oh well, see...its "pick up only". So you dont have to pay for any shipping. That alone saves you, what...$6!

I see where this one has had '23' offers that he has declined...

Hmmmm, how busy do you think you would be if every member on Shumps.com offered, oh...say $4.99 & you had to go thru' them all only to decline them?

I know, I know, it sounds like a petty, silly little childish prank that I sure wouldnt want to happen to me, but still it sort of has a deliciously imature feel to it, ya know!?

That's $33 on average for each game. You are right it's over priced right at start.

I think the reasonable price of the lot should goes somewhere between $6,000 to $12,120.

Keep in mind that lots usually sell cheaper than each game inidividually. Even if an auction goes very well, $15,000 is the maxium, I think.

I remember when some guy got over $1K for a copy of a game with a really terrible low-quality pic.

I tried selling mine right after (had to buy Nemesis '90 Kai, so it was good) and didn't hit $200, lol

In this case, listed as fixed price, $700 to $800 (with best offer) might be a better idea. Since you know there is a few guys willing to pay that much.

But well it hurts if it won't go, unless you listing it as a store item.

Yeah, you're right about that, SAM, but at the time I was afraid of getting hit with a large fee as it was just two guys in the other auction pushing up the price.

As I made it just a regular auction, one of the people watching the auction forgot about it and didn't even put in a bid before the end, offering it instead after the item ended

Quite a few lessons learned that time. Unfortunately I won't have an opportunity like that again, but oh well, I can at least be proud that I wasn't contributing to price inflation (I still like to buy stuff, after all!)

THEY CONTAIN NO ORGANS AND ARE NOT ON ANY LIST
The part about organs makes it that much worse.

The part about the pigs not being on any list is just funny. Nazi memorabilia...nope...
