I decided to clean up my old stick with some new art. Seimitsu LS-56 with Sanwa buttons (which I keep meaning to change to Seimitsu)

Pink Sweets
Image

X360 colour scheme buttons
Image

Home and Start buttons on the reverse - didn't bother with Back, future sticks I will.
Image

Muchi Muchi Pork - thanks to co-b for the original scan.
Image

Image

Deathsmiles - As I'm not so much a fan of the artwork I tried something different with the famitsu scans. No clue at to what the text says, plus the artwork needs a lot more cleaning up...
Image

This was the original artwork
Image

and this was made for PS2/xbox/dreamcast - very tatty now. Painted acetate inlay has lasted well though. A really old Suzo that's glued together (that's why the hole in the perspex is so big...), got it from an arcade that was closing down years ago.
Image

I've still got a couple of boxes left and plan on making some new sticks this summer (all Seimitsu, LS-32 etc.). If anyone's interested send me a pm.

Cool old-school tribute to George Lucas' Star Wars film with the 1977 SW lettering fonts on that one custom arcade stick. Any plans to do an Empire Strikes Back and/or Return of the Jedi panel overlays?

Lots of detailing and pics to gloss over with the Death Smiles! panel overlay.

I remember that Star Wars stick from SRK arcade stick thread, how come you changed the art? It was great! The arcade documentation printouts are way too busy and look terribly out of place on a stick.

Please see below my latest custom with artwork based on the movie Vertigo as per customer request. Instead of my usual light maple hardwood I went for a nice dark cherry oak which I believe complements the orange very well as do the all black Seimitsu PS-14-GN's. Originally the customer wanted clear orange PS-14-KN's but we both felt the solid black was the way to go (increased the lead time by 3 weeks as they were special order)but I feel they were worth it. Stick is Seimitsu LS-32 and navi buttons are Sanwa OBSF-24's. Naturally the stick is duel modded with the help of the infamous Paewang Rev. and as is the norm with my latest builds the stick weighs in at 7kg. Hope you like, would be great to hear feedback. Oh and as always big shout to Andy at Gremlin Solutions for his flawless service on all components :D

Hey guys, I was bored and impatient today so thought I would post a custom build I am currently working on (this one is for me and not a customer ..... makes a change lol)

This one is Dreamcast only (wanted to keep this one pure and single format) and is kind of a tribute stick to one of my favourite indie games ever(!).

I will post when fully finished and give the usual spec details and so on, obviously these are 'in progress' pictures, but you get the idea. Stick should be (cosmetically) finished and posted within 1 week (just waiting for the artwork to come back from Hannover).

Peace,

-J

PS - can you guess the game?? :P

What sort of DC pcb is in there, it makes for an extremely tidy wiring job.

It's a PCB from an official DC arcade stick ....... works very well and very easy to do!!

Agetec pcb is the best to use imo. I use them in my db15 project boxes.

I've seen many simply hack the standard dc controller, but I was under the impression that the triggers had some sort of input lag. Maybe not?

Hmmmm, as I use a stick PCB I couldn't confirm, I have simply been put off using a DC pad because of the rear triggers being a ball ache! What I am gearing towards is offering customers a 'true' multi format custom. I can currently mod a stick to play on PS3/360/PS2/PS1/Dreamcast and am finalising compatibility with Neo Geo AES and Saturn (not too fussed about GC/Wii ... but again this can easily be done) the other big thing I am working on is to have all this within a supergun set up (I am working on two of these, one of which is for a Shmups11 user!)

Got my custom through a week or so back from jutman and I'm over the moon with it.

From a rough idea to the finished product is amazing ... thanks to some great advice on the darker wood and solid black buttons & ball-top/shaft cover. Quality and finish are simply superb. These sticks look nice in photos but in the flesh they're something else. Feel really great to use too ... far more solid than any other stick I've used.

Thanks again to Jutman who took my initial concept, built on it, and delivered one heck of a stick ... also fair play for working so hard on the slick screwless finish. Genuinely nice guy too.

Yeah, official DC pad triggers lag just a bit. Most people who use controller PCBs use the Madcatz pads with 6 face buttons (C & Z) because of this.

Hey guys,

Right, here we have something a little bit out of the ordinary and (to me at least) a little bit special. You may or may not know I am a big supporter of the indie scene and one game which I especially like is Dux from Hucast.Net. The game was released last year for the Dreamcast in SE and LE (500 copies only). So after all the latest custom builds for customers, I fancied making a build for me :P
This stick is for the Dreamcast only and has my usual build of custom hand crafted hard maple case with 3mm thk steel top panel and 3mm plexi top panel with of course the underside being the same. Components are Sanwa JLF with octo gate and a single Sanwa OBSF-30 for the start button. Main buttons are Seimitsu PS-14-GN's (with solid pink rim to keep with the primary coloured theme. PCB is hacked from a DC stick and has a VMU internally attached (to allow game saves)

Now the special bit, I asked René Hellwig the Founder of Hucast.NET and developer of Dux, if I could have some official artwork, commission it and then send back for him to sign, and I am pleased to say he agreed :D!!! I know to some this may not be that big-a-deal but to me I am over the moon!! :D

Be great to hear what you think!!

Peace,

-J

I want to change the artwork on my Mad Catz Arcade Stick. Can anyone help me out with artwork or a template? So I can make something, I just don't know what dimensions, etc.

If only that ball top could light up like a disco ball and shine different color lights through out the room..... I'd settle for the top of the stick also.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

That would be awesome. Disco ball joystick would be mandatory of course :-)

thanks man.

if anyone wants some jojo art I could make you a scan. I have at least 3 other templates I designed from an awesome artbook. One of them is a Dio Brando template that would call for yellow seimitsu buttons and stick to look crazy cool. if you're into crazy colors jojo is the king. a polnareff stick with green hardware would look cool too.
