Warrior it is.
Would like to know how soon it is possible to find weapons and armor for deprived, though.

I think I'm gonna disconnect myself from internet and mobile as soon as the NA version launches, to avoid spoilers for 3 days

^ Watch out because a lot of people already seem to be playing the game and talking about it on various forums. Unfortunately nothing around me has broken street date and the wait is starting to become unbearable. MUST. AVOID. SPOILERS.

There are streams of the game if you know where to look (check out reddit.) Yeah, my impression is that it is tough. Crowd management seems more important than ever, and some of the most challenging bosses I saw had you pitted against multiple bosses at once. Yeah, isn't looking easy by any means.

Here's a great impression write-up on reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/DarkSouls2/comm ... ions_from/

PC & STEAM version will benefit from PC capabilities with increased texture resolution and an enhanced frame rate option. On top of that, FromSoftware have been working to perfectly adapt the game for a mouse & keyboard combo.
I-it's okay, I can wait one and a half months more!

I'm liking what I'm hearing. I went ahead and ordered the Black Armor edition, right before it went out of stock again. Although, I have no shipping estimate. This always happens to me.

This is exciting. I've been hearing good stuff about Ground Zeroes(despite it being shorter than hell), and that's good too. About time some quality Japanese games came our way.

Has anyone read anything about the framerate and performance differences between each version since the game leaked?

I read that the Xbox 360 has a better frame rate, but worse tearing.

I watched videos of some bosses, namely The Last Giant, Ornstein, Freja and the final boss. They hit hard but are really slow and don't have a whole lot of attacks. I hope the rest isn't like that.

Why are the streams being taken down? It's a game, for fuck's sake. There's nothing to spoil.

Formless God, goddamnit. Probably banned because the game is not released yet?
The game has a story just like movies and books, and dark souls especially is very oriented on surprising the player and requiring caution, spoiling this will completely ruin the experience.
From what I can tell from your post, you probably haven't played the first dark souls, but let me tell you that it's not an average mindless japanese RPG-grindfest, unlike many tend to think.

No, I'm about 6 bosses away from beating the first game. Centipede, Priscilla, Four Kings, Gwyn and whatever's inside the Catacombs.

I do a lot of research on a game before deciding to drop money on it. The footages will decide whether I should pay $50 right now or wait a year later for a sale. I doubt seeing all these things beforehand is going to ruin the experience, because of two reasons: 1) There are too many instances to remember 2) Watching videos of a game doesn't stop you from getting rekt.

This. I don't give two fucks about frame rates etc, I just hope it captures even half the sense of wonder and awe the first game did.

From what I've seen and heard so far I'm prepared for a less memorable and even a little disappointing sequel. I can still see myself putting a significant amount of time into it as it looks like it's going to be a bigger game quantity wise. I just hope the online works properly from launch

I've heard a lot of mixed stuff. Hard to say what's gonna be the case when it comes out.

If there are problems though....they should have kept Miyazaki.

I've got the collectors edition pre ordered, which should also come with the metal plate pre order thingy, but seriously thinking about just picking up the vanilla game and that 400 page handbook strategy guide instead. Not sure I'm that bothered about all the collectibles, and that guide looks really good value. Not that I'd use it as such, just seems like something that would be nice to have, rather than a smallish art book and figure.

For what its worth, the first Dark Souls hardcover guide routinely sells for over $60 on Ebay. Probably worthwhile to pick up a copy either way, lots of gorgeous art.

I wasn't expecting the steel art card so when I arrived home today I thought they'd managed to ship me a copy early. How dissapointed was I when I pulled out some grubby, poorly printed dregling that will probably go in the bin.

Cancelled the Collectors, my little lad would probably end up breaking the figurine, and I haven't touched the other stuff in the DS Ltd Edition since I opened it. Can't argue with a 400 page book for £20, I take it at that price though it's basically a hardcover magazine?

I can't speak for the sequel's content yet, but the first one had a couple hundred pages at least. The first patch basically made the Weapon & Armor requirements useless, however, since a lot of that stuff got changed. I'd imagine it will be the same this time around. Still has a nice place on my bookshelf though.

In other news, we're about to see how understanding my girlfriend truly is about my video game habits. The REAL Dark Souls starts here... :!:

picking it up today on my way home from work. Can't really say I am as excited as I was for Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1, but it will be the first "new" game I've bought in awhile... so that's something to be excited about.

I just picked up my copy of the game but I'm wondering if I should go ahead and play it before I play the first one. I've played maybe 15 hours of Demons Souls but I haven't touched my copy of Dark Souls yet. Will it make any difference at all if I just jump into DS2? I suspect the answer is 'no' but thought I'd check anyhow.
