The zebra striping looks good! I appreciate the fix.CStarFlare wrote: ↑Fri Dec 26, 2025 9:09 pm I've added some zebra striping to the front page to hopefully add some clarity. Let me know if if it helps. I'll work on adding a video embed over the weekend.

I'm digging the new frontpage replay feature! Maybe this'll encourage me to branch out and not just play CAVEslop.

lol
So this looks... kind of weird? The column is kind of shifted over to the right and it feels unbalanced now. Oh well. I guess it still works just fine. Good to see that the random replay doesn't work only for Youtube. It showed me a Twitch MD Darius II replay, so I'm assuming that it can do pretty much anything as long as it can access it. I really need to remove my replays from Youtube and put them someplace else... just been too lazy to do it or figure out where.

I definitely see an issue. Where are the PC and arcade cabinet? No way in hell am I going to play games without my PCs and PCBs if I can help it!
I'm not a collector, but I think most people would say that I have a pretty massive collection of video game things. Some super rare stuff, some super common stuff, but almost exclusively good stuff... and then there is City Connection Cotton. I am considering getting rid of a decent chunk of it, namely English versions of Japanese games that I no longer need because I can do Japanese just fine now, and some random Genesis games that came in a set with my Nomad that I have no interest in. The Nomad is glorious, but I really have no interest in the Street Fighter and whatever that came with it.Faith wrote: ↑Fri Dec 26, 2025 5:21 amAlso, I think, from what I read Steven type... I really do not think his apartment can look like that :p hahaha! Sorry Steven! Not in a bad way. But quite sure Steven likes to collect many things too, and many things that are not really small. But, no matter, as long as not dirty, happiness is the most important!~

I'll look into some dynamic sizing - the front page probably needs a rebuild to accommodate the player.
Next on my list is getting back to detecting dead video links and marking them accordingly. Rezardi's are the main ones that seem to have gone dark since I ran my last check.

I received an alert from a user that Restart Syndrome had security vulnerabilities - XSS attacks were possible, as was spoofing logins for other users. These are fixed. I don’t think there’s any user data at risk, but it’s worth changing your password. My apologies for exposing people to these risks.

Is there any way to send a password reset to your email address if you don't remember it?

Re: Restart Syndrome - High Score Boards
It's not really a huge thing, but is there any possibility of adding the ability to delete goals? I accidentally made two of the same goal lol. Abandoning it leaves it in the abandoned pile and I'd like to delete it because I don't really need two of the same goal. If not, I guess I'll just make it a different goal.
Found a bunch of oddities today now that I've finally started submitting scores, so here they are.
It seems that the Thunder Force AC page has an error. Attempting to set the filter to either arcade or Switch version gives this error:
Could not get most recent entries: SQLSTATE[42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near 'p' GROUP BY user )) t ON s.score_id = t.score_id WHERE mode= :mode ...' at line 6
Thunder Forces III and IV have the same problem, as does 1941 Counter Attack... and a bunch of other pages too.
That Switch version of Thunder Force AC also has three exclusive ships and it seems that it isn't possible to submit scores for those ships now.
DDP Daioujou also has four separate versions labelled 0 for some reason, too, and clicking on any of them results in an invalid selection error.
When submitting a score for Zero Wing 2P version, the stage selection option is currently missing everything after stage 2.
V-V Bomber Version is listed, but Grind Stormer isn't. I don't know if anyone knows if these are the same game or not, so that itself is an annoyance, but if someone wanted to submit for Grind Stormer, should they submit for V-V Bomber?
Battle Garegga's Xbox version is missing.
Tatsujin Ou's ship side selection is missing (apparently affects recovery in a few spots due to different starting location, but I don't know the details), as is the Steam/GOG version.
Also don't suppose there is a chance to add R-Type Final 3 Evolved, is there? It's got its own exclusive course.
Sorry about the mess. I guess that's what happens when I play things that literally nobody else cares about.

Thanks for all of this - I've added notes in bold in the quote block:

Thunder Forces III and IV have the same problem, as does 1941 Counter Attack... and a bunch of other pages too. Thank you for reporting this - it probably would have been broken on any page you tried to filter by platform. Fixed!
That Switch version of Thunder Force AC also has three exclusive ships and it seems that it isn't possible to submit scores for those ships now. I've these, and also added the Switch Kids mode.
DDP Daioujou also has four separate versions labelled 0 for some reason, too, and clicking on any of them results in an invalid selection error. Weird - it looks like I accidentally set them up while I was setting up the Rinne Tensei arrange modes. I've removed these.

V-V Bomber Version is listed, but Grind Stormer isn't. I don't know if anyone knows if these are the same game or not, so that itself is an annoyance, but if someone wanted to submit for Grind Stormer, should they submit for V-V Bomber? I believe Grind Stormer is the same as the Bomber version.
Battle Garegga's Xbox version is missing. I forgot this was a thing. Added.
Tatsujin Ou's ship side selection is missing (apparently affects recovery in a few spots due to different starting location, but I don't know the details), as is the Steam/GOG version. Thanks for this - I've added Tatsujin Oh's ports to the site and will be making sure the other Toaplan Shooting Collection games are set up for all available platforms.
Also don't suppose there is a chance to add R-Type Final 3 Evolved, is there? It's got its own exclusive course. The R-Type Final 2/3 setup is kind of confusing to me - I get the sense that it relies heavily on user-defined courses? Happy to add it, but I'll need some guidance on the mode/stage/ship selections.
Sorry about the mess. I guess that's what happens when I play things that literally nobody else cares about.

Hell yeah, thanks. I'll try to rescue my Switch Thunder Force AC replays later so I can put those up.CStarFlare wrote: ↑Thu Jan 22, 2026 7:01 pm Thanks for all of this - I've added notes in bold in the quote block:
So for R-Type Final 2, I forgot to mention this before, but there are now two extra alternate stages, 4.1 and 5.1, and you don't have those as options on the submission screen. 4.1 doesn't do anything special beyond being by far the hardest stage in the game, but choosing to go to 5.1 locks you into the 7.1 route. This mess of alternate stages and custom ships and stuff is obviously extremely annoying to keep score for.
R-Type Final 3 is the same as R-Type Final 2. R-Type Final 3 Evolved is not, as it has its own course, which is a set of 7 new stages with no alternate stages or branching paths. It's basically a normal game, so it's pretty straightforward aside from the option of changing ships mid-game and custom ships. Final 2/3/Evolved is a giant confusing mess. At least they seem to be done adding stuff to it, or maybe they are going to continue after they release the forever delayed Tactics remakes.
You can make custom courses in both, but keeping track of that is going to be unreasonable. You can put any stages in any order with the exception of designated final stages, which have to be stage 7. You can freely mix stages 1-6 of the regular course + 4.1 and 5.1, 1-6 of the Evolved course, and 1-6 of each of the 3 DLC courses in any order and combination you want, and then choose any stage 7 from regular, DLC, or Evolved course. If I did the math correctly with the combination calculator that I used, that gives 906,198 possible combinations. Obviously, nobody is going to bother keeping score for custom courses because of that. There are two competition stages that I guess are played for score and are completely separate from the regular game, but I don't know much about them or how they work. In theory you could probably keep score for those just fine as long as you note what ship and equipment was used, but I doubt that anyone cares about this game enough to want to submit for those.
Also noticed something that I think can be improved: I kind of messed up the Saidaioujou novice leaderboard because I didn't notice the warning that says to not play with the score display enabled until after I already clicked submit, and I totally played with the score display. Oops. I deleted it, but it might be better to move warnings like that to be above the submit button and maybe also change the color to a high-contrast color so inattentive fools like me don't miss it. Or maybe make it a popup when you try to submit or something like that.
I had absolutely no idea that the score display adds slowdown BTW. That's interesting... maybe that is why I got so much slowdown with Type-D before my Xbox killed my save file and I lost Type-D.
I think it should probably be safe to combine V-V Bomber and Grind Stormer... maybe. I know some people have said that Grind Stormer has more aggressive rank, but I don't know. I'll see what I can find out, but no promises.
Don't worry about the goals thing for now, I guess, at least on my end. I changed it to something different, something that I must to accomplish in order to achieve my real goal anyway. Probably shouldn't be able to make two of the same goal though.
Also just now noticed that Dangun Feveron Xbox version is missing.
Battle Garegga Special mode (Harder and Extended at the same time) is also missing.

Added R-Type Final 3 Evolved and the 4.1/5.1 options for R-Type Final 2. Also added the Xbox option for Dangun, and Special for Garegga.
