Why?

A lot of people. Far too many, in fact. I was also referring to sites like Siliconera and Kotaku.

You do realize you're accomplishing nothing productive by whining at me, while I was helping RSG proofread their site? People normally get paid to do that shit, and RSG is in the goddamn international marketplace now! Wish I could put you on ignore right about now.

As for whether I was taking valuable seconds out of their precious time...I strongly get the impression that most of the AK localization work is spent waiting for emails from Cave and Microsoft. It's not like they're translating an RPG, here. How long does it take to edit one line of text, anyway?

Well that makes a little more sense. I know they flag up some topics relevant to the hardcore gaming crowd, but I never found anything particularly significant in the coverage, either in terms of quality or general direction.

Anyway, that's off topic, carry on Akai Katana.

Completely in agreement with you here. Unfortunately, we have much higher standards than most gaming internet denizens.

We need to check it - going through that process at the moment.

I'll preorder even though I already have the Jap LE just because I'm a stupid hoarder. At least it'll be cheap in comparison...

Is this gonna be similar to the US Deathsmiles? or just barebones? I would check out the website, but I'm sure it's blocked for me.

Looks like it's just gonna be a standard release. We'd have heard something about extras by now, and it'd be too late to implement them at this point..

I hope you double dippers can make the time to play a few runs in score attack, The localised CAVE versions are pretty much devoid of good replays to get tips from, the best DFK 1.5 Strong C replay has someone playing a run until the 1-4 mid boss then suiciding for a game over which is quite baffling :?

Teaser trailer - apparently the three modes will be renamed "Origin", "Slash", and "Climax", a bit of an odd decision considering that they left the original Japanese in the game's title.

Maybe the translators just like Ys, Guilty Gear, and After Burner. I'm also fairly sure a Climax mode would be more suited Muchi Muchi Pork or Sengoku Ace. You know, for dudes that like glorious fat chick master race or giant breasts. I'm still not sure if these companies have a good sense of humor or are just desperate to reach other demographics.

Anyway, still waiting on more release details. Tell Amazon to list this game already. It won't magically turn into temporary vaporware like Dragon's Crown, right?
Why is it called the Vic Viper/Warp Rattler? Because the Options trail behind it in a serpent-like fashion, and the iconic front fins are designed to invoke the image of a snake's fangs.

Can't wait for Akai Katana, put my pre-order at Amazon UK when they first came up.

The Japanese demo was great, love the visuals.

Too bad Progear was published by Capcom, would love to see that in HD graphics as well. Same for DeathSmile II, us poor Europeans are still unable to play that and together with Akai Katana, remain the only CAVE shmups I have not played...

This isn't going to be a "deluxe" edition is it (with included ost or anything)?

Great trailers and all, but I still can't put my money down on this. Not even a placeholder listing on amazon!

Seriously! I'm ready to throw my money at you just let us know when we'll be able to :(

I'm not going to be upset about a delay or anything, I just want to know what's going on with this release so I can start actually getting excited about it.

There's no delay; we haven't announced a release date. Still on track for Q2 2012!

There's only one edition and there is no OST.

thanks for all the support,

No OST? Disappoint. Now I'm gonna have to go and download it off FFShrine or something. :P

Good to see it's still on track. How's the 4:3 zoom bug coming along?

So it's just one disc for the PAL release too?. Why no music disc?. You just released Bit.Trip Complete with a music CD. I am disappointed. I love the CAVE and other STG music CD that comes with the games. Can you tell us why?.

Let me guess. To save money? or the music CD is shit?.

It's one of the worst Cave soundtracks, IMO.

I'd say it's hands down the best Cave OST since Ketsui/DOJ.
