Also I find it most hilarious that you control rank by putting more clothes on. Who knew that donning a stylish winter coat would make spaceships less angry with you.
Don't mean to kill everybody's thrill, but do we know for sure that this is even an original game? I assumed from the title that it was some kind of reiteration/remix of DOJ and I haven't seen anything to make me think otherwise. I certainly hope it's an all new game but we won't know till someone plays it at a location test.
I also wish Cave didn't have to cater to the loli/fetishist crowd. Fingers crossed for no actual dresses in the game.

I don't get why there seems to be so much crossover here. The Touhou effect perhaps?
Because of the title I'm hoping it's more of a direct sequel to DOJ - meaning there's no "cough" auto-bomb and less shooting bullets with your hyper type thang.
The fact that there's an arcade game at all is good news. Come on SH3.

I'm personally hoping for a new single-pcb generation. Not a big of fan of SH-3. Plus a newer generation would likely have higher memory etc. and maybe less compressed audio.
Would be interesting to learn if this newfangled DDP-SDOJ PCB is stereo capable from the get-go (releasing a new arcade PCB title in mono-only format is getting old). If it is running on the ol' SH-3 arcade platform, make sure that the artificial slowdown isn't like how it was present in the DDP-DFK 1.5 PCB release (no visual clue as to when it'd occur & end quite suddenly making for some jarring gameplay).
I understand Cave having kept quiet for the 2011 season to concentrate on working on a new arcade shmup PCB title leading arcade PCB hobbyists/gamers to wonder if such a new PCB title would emerge or not. Good to hear that their arcade PCB division is alive & well.
The real question to ask next, is: Will Cave be releasing a Black Label PCB variant of DDP-SDOJ in the nearby future?
"PCB" won't be an accurate term if this is on Type-X like DSII, or some other PC-based hardware. Those games used to come on hard drives with USB security dongles, which have been largely phased out in favor of NESiCA downloads, due to piracy concerns.

I believe it's likely that SDOJ will be used to clean out their remaining SH-3 stock and be their swan song for the arcade. Nesica's business model and commission rates are too risky for developers to create original titles on it which is why Cave has hesitated on using it.

From what I've seen on the Japanese internet, it's going to be absolutely packed...
I reserve the right to change my mind after I see what I'm in for.. haha. I tried to go to the last CAVE matsuri event that was held at HEY! in late 2010, and the line was in the stairwell from the 5th floor all the way down to the first floor.. I said "fuck this", and went home. Tokyo This is why CAVE matsuri items are expensive on the second-hand market.. haha.. no one wants to endure that shit. I must admit that the event at Belle Salle last year was good planning on their part - crowded, yet spacious. Thanks to the cool breeze, I could barely smell the sweaty fat guy mumbling "I'm so excited!" over and over next to me.
I`ve never seen a Cave loc test at HEY that had more than a dozen people in line at a time, so I dont expect this to be too bad. Still means a 45-minute wait though.

You confirmed it's on SH3 Shou?
It would seem logical for Cave to use up their SH-3 inventory for a new arcade PCB title, hence the usual mono-only audio of course (if it's of the standard Jamma PCB variety). Be sure to ask what kind of hardware this DDP-SDOJ is running on, Shou. And some HD clips of DDP-SDOJ would be ace.

PC Engine Fan X! ^_~
I guess, I just thought they might attempt to freshen up their image in the arcade with some new hardware. I honestly thought Mushi 1.5 and AK Limited were attempts to clear out SH3 stock, guess they still had some left over.

I haven't confirmed anything yet but Akai Katana was a flop and didn't sell as expected so Mushi 1.5 and the various AK packages were made to help with the inventory but those were quite limited in quantity (how else would they get Cave fans to buy them...)
