The post with the mirrors only had file names (which is probably why I missed it when I checked through the thread before), I just changed the appropriate parts of the uploader URL.

There's nothing especially interesting being said in the thread, same kind of chat about the game as you guys here, and a little "the original's a kusoge "no it's not, it's a bakage" "no, it is a kusoge" ... One guy says at first it was a kusoge because your ship was too weak, the enemies were too strong, so it was unbalanced, then later (like the version in that mirror) the enemies are too strong AND your ship's too strong, which makes it balanced and a bakage.

[TRANSLATOR'S NOTE] Yeah I assume everyone knows this but just in case kusoge = a game that is shit bakage = a game that is stupid

Thanks! Sounds like arguing about shmups is the same east and west :D
Is there any explanation of why the latest game updates have moved back to the original site rather than being posted on the 2chan board? Has the original author taken over development again (and if so why?) I can't get my head round it.

No explanation really, he said somewhere all the numerous debug versions had got a bit out of control, so I think maybe he just didn't want to post anything on 2ch but put it somewhere where a few people might still notice. It's definitely still the same guy, he posted this morning (Japan time) and he's waiting for bug reports at the moment.

Thanks again! That's brilliant and I guess v1.00 is really on it's way now :D

Can't wait for the definitive version but, seeing this is a fan made thing, we'll be seeing dozens of crazy updates now and then.

That and the awesome music that makes us go D-D-D-Detroitpachi! Those vocal samples are close in awesomeness to the "oooohs" and "yeaaaahs" of the Espgaluda boss theme, lol. Turning the house into a dancing hall of the techno punchi punchi!!!

Oh, was the R-Gray or any of the Ray series ship added? I can't quite scratch the fact that I want my lock-on guided laser missiles of doom mechanic.

This may as well be the best Cave-inspired game ever.

Wooh! V0.999 and patch have been removed from the author's page and there was something on the 2chan board requesting all bug notifications before Saturday so can this mean that v1.00 is incoming?
Hang on though... Nicole Scherzinger just popped round for a cup of tea and she said "Boom boom boom, don't hold your breath" :D

Well on the 2chan board there's now a link to a final test version :http://www1.axfc.net/uploader/Si/so/104947
but I can't work out what the key word for downloading it is!! It's not "dash" as previously.
The post with the link actually says:
" ここまでで一旦区切り。最終チェックのためテスト配布します。漢字鍵でとうちゅうかそう
DLする人は木曜までに問題なし/ありだけでもいいんで書き込み頼む。プレイ専は本配布まで自重お願い
http://www1.axfc.net/uploader/Si/so/104947"
and I'm guessing it tells you what the keyword is there but Google translate isn't making any sense of it.
Japanese speakers please help!!

Damn. We need someone with a greater grasp of japanese. From what I understand, and it can be all wrong since I might be missing x or y particles and those can change the whole meaning of the sentences, this version is up for test until the end of this week it says "mokuyobi made", that is "until thursday" but go figure what might else it can mean!). I feel like a freaking archaeologist deciphering ancient arcane speeches :P

Also indicating that that one only link should be distributed as well. We have to understand the concept of mirroring differs a bit for the japanese. While we see it as a way of having something available in case all hell breaks loose and shit explodes (translation: server crashes, backups get deleted or worse), they see if more as opening the flood gates and losing authorship and god know what else. Maybe irreversible corruption of the work under the hands of the filthy gaijin!?

Whatever, I just can't figure out the password. Seems to be in kanji though. It stress the "seems"... Ah, what the hell, let me see if I can get a japanese to help us.

Yeah- this is so tantalising. I've just been copy and pasting words from the post into the keyword box hoping that one of them will be the key but no luck so far. I'm assuming that keyword must be in the post somewhere!

Well, send me too! :P

Also, I was going to say exactly that. Mind reading at its finest.

We are being observed, people, and not precisely by me! We have another protoss in the team releasing observers.

That or... GENTLEMEN, I think we have a spy.

EDIT: Thanks! BTW, I sent you some positive feedback as thanks, but it just now became apparent that it really seems to be used for trading. Whoops.

Well, some positive feedback never hurts. We gotta reward awesome reflexes and a good sense of humor, mjclark has both and I applaud him for that.

As for this version, let's see if the definitive, stealthy, non-kanji-passworded (well, maybe a pass with regular letters), comes on thursday... From what I played, it's just great. As if it wasn't great before.

We/I want to praise and enjoy, not to contaminate things with my/our filthy foreigner claws/hands. PC and mods forever!

Mmmm, it wouldn't hurt to have some sort of Extra stage adding maybe a Silverhawk or a Dimahoo character. Oh, and we definitely need the Gigawing and Mars Matrix ships if they weren't added already. With OTAY reflect system, black hole bombs and all.

So, to the Blue Team spy reading, please consider that pretty please? Muchas gracias/Thank you in advance.

この素晴らしいゲームをありがとうございます!GわんげDashはとてもすごいです!!!

I still have terrible problems with the damn particles and articles... Whatever, the game is great. That.

edit: actually, let's just say I need another 10 years before I can properly write some decent sentences in japanese.

There is a Giga Wing ship now and it kicks ass - I really want to see a choice of difficulty levels and a scoreboard which shows ship used, stage reached and max hit. and yeah this is awesome!!!

Took the words out of my mouth. I mean, Vic-Viper at full power and speed is plain unstoppable! I LOVE IT. The bad: die once... and it's pretty much game over or a really hard recovery. So they replicated pretty well the Gradius-feeling.

Looks like I missed out on this today. Well, that's what I get for drinking too much the night before.
It does kinda suck that this is being so tightly locked down. I guess I'll just have to wait, and see how this plays out in the long run. It's a damn shame that they aren't considering any of us for play testing and suggestions. I'm sure if given the chance, we could actually be of some help.

Now that I think about it, it's still missing a lock-on mechanic, aka, the RayForce ships for the laser missiles. There is the Border Down ship and the Ikaruga wind lasers but it's just not the same without the "beep beep" of locking to many enemies at once and pwning them.

You could apply the same mechanic as the Solvalou and have the main gun hit air and the laser missiles everything else, including air.

Now all they need to do is add a Zub rush.

He says this download was for the final check before the real release and he wants people who just want to play, not report bugs (or lack of), to wait. Thursday is when he wants bug reports by.

If you want to post any bugs you found or just that you didn't have any problems or if you have anything you really want to say to the developer I'll translate and post it on 2ch.
