I doubt Treasure wont make a profit on RSG, Doesn't Treasure only have a tiny team of 5 ppl? I would expect they've kept their costs low.

Watching that vid posted in this thread, the 25 minute one where the player is obviously playing the game for the first time, I don't know. The learning curve is steep, it's like a wall. Seven button control scheme? Chaining that's mostly necessary to survive? I can't see your average player sticking around long enough for things to become intuitive.

I guess that's why they added all that bloom.

I'm guessing most of the people who buy it will just credit feed through a couple times and call it a masterpiece because that's what they've been told for the last 10 years.

Setting the difficulty to Easy makes it a lot more accessible. That way you can just play it as a straight-up shmup and forget about the weapons and chaining.

Really ? I remember playing in easy once or twice. I could not defeat bosses in a reasonable amount of time. I'll have to give this a new try.

The bosses will take longer to destroy if you haven't been powering up but the game is still very easy. You can make it stupidly easy also by saving your powerup state (only in Saturn mode IIRC).

Whenever you guys get this, let me know if you can unlock the ship speed option. It took 50 hours of your system being on to unlock it, on the Saturn. if it's on here, I don't know how it'll work. I won't get it, unless it has it.

OH, and Saturn Mode is too freaking long.

It would be nice if they added a save game option (between stages) for Saturn mode. I think we can pretty much guarantee they haven't though.

Stage select/unlocking doesn't sound unlikely though. Like in Hard Corps Uprising.

I may be wrong. . . but didn't the ship speed option in the Saturn game only give you the option to make your ship slower? I thought it defaulted to the fasted speed?

Arcade Mode is way better than Saturn mode. Saving your weapon levels breaks the balance of the game.

Not sure if you guys watched the extended footage linked two pages ago, but there's clearly a "Training" option in the menu.

No. You could speed up your ship.

It probably won't appear on the dash front until later in the day, but will be available at around 10am via the Marketplace or via the Xbox Live website by searching for it. Sometimes there are slight delays, other times games appear early.

Pretty much, yeah. I wouldn't bother checking until around 11am unless you hear someone announce it's out early here.

Ha, same here, although minus the ales. Can't drink and play though, well not play seriously. Definitely not combined with RSG!

Reminded by leaderboards.. Even if there is a boss rush mode which is a good idea, the game seems to have some of the stupidest boss milking around because it takes ages for bosses to time out. So you can milk for graze points by sitting in place or w/e. (for example, look at one of ben_shinobi's replays at Gallop)

I'm hoping the ikaruga mode has altered boss timers, could be fun.

edit: ps. sorry if my english is bad here, have a pretty bad cold :|

The 14th? Bah...I had it in my head that it came out today for some reason. Guess I got my retail/XBLA release days mixed up.

Why? It wouldn't be inaccurate. It's inaccessible, awkward to adjust to, liked by word of mouth and ....only for fans of the genre.

If you're playing for score, yeah, but there's a lot to like for folks just credit-feeding through story mode. Moreso than Ikaruga, I'd say, and the gaming press slapped a 9/10 on that game all day every day
