Re: Gundemonium Collection coming to PSN
I picked up the three games yesterday and I've had no problems with my fat 40GB model. It's a shame so many people are experiencing issues because these games really are fun.
Re: Gundemonium Collection coming to PSN
Call me crazy but aren't there issues with PS1 Classics too? I remember reading somewhere that resetting the game after booting usually fixes the problem. For the record, I have a 20gb launch PS3 and haven't experienced a problem with Happa.
Re: Gundemonium Collection coming to PSN
Does anyone know what the conditions are for unlocking Sphere13? The description on the Japanese wiki is even uncertain.
Re: Gundemonium Collection coming to PSN
You can't actually unlock Sphere13, but to get it to appear...Elixir wrote:Does anyone know what the conditions are for unlocking Sphere13? The description on the Japanese wiki is even uncertain.
Choose "Continue" from the main menu (you must be continuing), use a ton of Leafs.
Eventually, Sphere13 should appear instead of a Leaf, as long as you were using Leaf and another Leaf was next.
The chance is 1 in 64.

So it's just a joke character? That's a shame, she's way more useful than say... I think the intent was that she would just randomly show up to help players that weren't very good and were in a tight spot.Elixir wrote:So it's just a joke character? That's a shame, she's way more useful than say... Sikkim or Dimbula.
That would make sense, at least, but geez.
Re: Gundemonium Collection coming to PSN
Hahaha, judging from Murasame's other games I don't think it's there to help newbies (none of his games are newbie friendly) but it's probably a reference to something.Sara wrote:I think the intent was that she would just randomly show up to help players that weren't very good and were in a tight spot.Elixir wrote:So it's just a joke character? typos are far less important than incompatability issues...Sara wrote:That's just a (rather consistent) site typo.
Should be fixed when the new layout launches soon.
It's still Hitogata Happa, don't worry.
I wouldn't let a mix-up like that happen.
You can see the name in those pictures, too.

From before the game was even released?

Re: Gundemonium Collection coming to PSN
no i like to understand the whole story on something i comment on. i was pointing out that before the game was released you were all about taking care of problems even ones as meanal as typos...now that the game is out and has problems you wanna blame lay and say other companies did it as well...and didnt rectify the problem...i have news for you, both of those companies are well established and not going any where...plus those were carts and discs..u cant just patch em...your company is a fledgling company dealing with an extremely small close knit community of gamers...can you afford to lose even a few? or is the fact that playstation net work is carrying your came such a sure fire thing that you dont need to keep your core audience happy? your first response to this issue should have been "i will look into it and do everything within my power to make sure the problem is fixed." the fact is the current firmware was in place before you released the game and you should test with the most current firmware...not "old dev kits"(i have a buddy who compatibility checks software for pc which is much harder and said there is no way such a QUOTE"blatant hardware compatability issue could have been missed if its was properly checked on the most current os with the most curent firmware in place")...you ve lost myself and at least 5 other dudes i know on ps net work how many others have turned away once they found out the game had compatability problems? my arguement is settled in the fact that ill not buy your games now and neither will several others i know not because i CONVINCED them not to or any sillyness, but because they made a informed choice during a time when money isnt exactly plentiful...good luck.
Re: Gundemonium Collection coming to PSN
Okay, first of all, we did test with the most current firmware, but it's a COMBINATION of firmware and hard drive.iluvmonsterz wrote:(wall of text removed for space)
People with smaller harddrives DO NOT experience the issue, and what are we supposed to do about that?
You want to get us better test units, go right ahead, except that Sony is the one that provides those.
We can't just come up with our own developer things, it doesn't work that way.
If it did, Sony couldn't keep such a tight lid on PS3 development, could they?
You're barking up the wrong tree, and if you really want to blame someone, it shouldn't be us.
What are we supposed to do, find some way to modify Sony's testing units, which would get us in a lot of trouble with them?
We don't even get to keep their test units, they're just on loan to us.
That's how it works for us. It's their units, they don't want them to get out, even though they can at times.
We also aren't the programmers of the PS3 version, so how are we supposed to fix a problem like that?
With magic? With money, which we don't really the ability to just throw at all of the issues like a bigger company?
I'm so glad you have a friend who compatibility tests for PC and thus is clearly perfectly informative on the issue.
Even though you can do testing on PC environments that you can build yourself, and don't even need a special OS or anything.
Sony's test units don't even use the regular PS3 firmware, they use a special version made for testing.
PS3 games are all specially signed to prevent piracy and they are signed differently during development as well.
What that means for developers and testers is that they can not test their products on ordinary PS3s.
This is all publically known or I wouldn't be saying it, of course. Just search around for info on PS3 test units, really.
But, you clearly know more about this than I do, even though I have personally handled PS3 tests and know what goes on there.
Oh, and one last thing? That typo you're so dearly clinging to as a beacon of why we did an awful job?
That was a WEB TYPO. Different people work on testing and programming than on web design and similar.
So yeah, that typo on our website was clearly hindering our ability to focus on this issue.
Even though it was totally unrelated to that part of our staff and even though we can't directly control the PS3 development anyway.
Smart. It takes time to fix problems like these because of all of the red tape involved anyway!
But NO: We were looking at every issue we could from the beginning and we STILL ARE.
It may or may not get fixed, but we're hoping that it will! This is a business and unlike on PC we can not easily control it all ourselves!
Businesses mean paperwork, money, regulations, and a whole song and dance just to get anything to go well.
That's how it is, even moreso when you're working with a big company like Sony.
It's easier for big businesses because they have more money to sling around.
You want it fixed? Then show an understanding of what you're saying before you open your mouth.
We ARE doing everything we can. That doesn't mean the same thing to you as it does in reality, apparently.
I'm sorry, but I'm really not going to deal with your nonsense anymore.
You can keep it up if you want, but I have more important stuff to do than keep shooting this stuff down.

excuses...patch it or dont. other downloaded content has recieved patches...youve produced no facts just your opinions and personal conjecture. what exactly do you do at rockin android? and i misspell shit frequently..especially late at night. i just wanted assurance that i could purchase your game and play it with out shitty sound and all i ve gotten are excuses as to why its sonys fault and not yours. its really to bad they look like great games. red tape is a classic business nomenclature for "um we are to lazy to do that". feel free to get that last word in i am done with this conversation.

Nope, red tape refers to excessive regulations, rules, or other business practices that make it difficult to take an action.iluvmonsterz wrote:red tape is a classic business nomenclature for "um we are to lazy to do that".

iluvmonsterz: Are you even capable of comprehending replies that consist of more than 5 words? You lose your right to be taken seriously when you can't tell the difference between facts and opinions.
It's fairly obvious that if anything could be done, it would have been done already. Based on what's been discussed (here and elsewhere), the problems are a combination of many factors that are completely out of their hands - and it makes me wonder why any small developer would choose to develop on the PS3 given how much of a pain in the ass it sounds like.

B) according to which small developers?
point me in the direction of irrefutable facts and i ll eat crow..until then. keep talking about facts but not listing any or the sources for those....

Re: Gundemonium Collection coming to PSN
You are an idiot.iluvmonsterz wrote:blah blah blah
As someone who has developed and released four separate Xbox LIVE Indie Games I can tell you that when you are developing for console, there is quite a lot that is not under the developer's control.
XBLIG devs are fortunate to be able to test directly on retail 360s, but most developers develop and test on development kits provided by the manufacturer (as Sara clearly stated). These are not identical to the retail hardware, and they're not running the same firmware, either. Judging from her description of the issue, it sounds like there was really no way to catch it before release.
To me, this is reminiscent of an issue I had in Snake360 right as it was released. It was related to the 8-minute time limit, which is mandatory on trial versions of Indie Games. When the time expired, my game crashed, instead of asking the player if they wanted to buy the game. No doubt, I lost quite a lot of potential sales because of it. The thing was, this never happened during my testing, or during peer review by other developers. All told, it happened because of differences between how the 8-minute expiration worked between the development tools and the final retail builds (which we don't see; they're generated automatically by the system). Sound familiar? I learned that there was no way I could have tested for that before release. (Since this time, the dev tools have been improved; we can now test for this before release.)
Anyway, back then, it took me over a week to figure out what the problem was; thank goodness someone else had a similar issue, and figured it out quickly. If not for that it probably would have taken me a lot longer. Then, my fix took several days to get through review. All in all, it was probably about two weeks and a few days until the patched version made it through.
This issue with Gundemonium Collection sounds like it's at least as obscure, if not more so, so it will take some time to figure out. I don't know how they'll be able to test it; that may take some time to figure out as well. And, when they do have a patch ready, it will have to go through certification before release. This alone could take several weeks. I do not envy the hard-working folks at Rockin' Android...this situation must be very frustrating. And the fact that you are attacking Sara--who is nice enough to come here, discuss the games and answer our questions in a friendly manner--is beyond deplorable. It's not going to make anyone feel better, it's not going to make a patch come faster, and it's just going to add frustration to an already difficult situation.
I was on the fence as far as a purchase was concerned, but after reading this page of the thread, I have decided that I'll be buying it. Good luck to everyone at RA in figuring out the issue.

I don't think it's a little bug, it makes the game unbearable for many players unless you mute the sound. I've put aside those games until a patch or firmware update comes out.
