Yes.
I think I recall reading that MS have deliberately designed the "recover a gamertag" option to include nasty DRM that messes with your savefiles, if you try to use the "recover a gamertag" option to transfer your gamertag to another console (I can't recall the specifics exactly, and I think MS changed the way this feature works at least once, you may need to double-check this).

So if you have multiple 360s with their own HDDs, then I believe the only safe (?) way to transfer your gamertag to your other 360 without swapping HDDs, is to move the gamertag profile and any of your profile's non-copy-protected savefiles onto a Memory Unit (memory card). Then plug that Memory Unit into your other 360 & then move your gamertag profile and savefiles onto that machine's HDD.

this sounds like bullshit; I recover my gamertag all the time when I visit home and play stuff on my brothers' xbox and have never noticed any ill effect aside from losing an achievement I got offline once

Yep, it's bullshit. I use my gamertag on my friends consoles all the time and have never had any problems.

If you have separate hard drives on each console, you can probably get it from your download history. If you use the same hard drive for both, it -should- just come with the hard drive. In both cases, it'll be available as long as you're signed into Live.
But you have to already have the user on that console. There is a way to do that, but I'm not sure how easy it is. Can you just recover a gamertag on a new console very easily or what? I just made a direct copy of my HDD so I don't even know. :/
If he moves the HDD between consoles and the user profile is stored on the HDD, it -should- move wherever the HDD goes. Otherwise, officially you have to recover it from Live every time, since they only allow the profile to be in one place at a time.

I personally just keep my profile on a memory unit - still the easiest way to keep a profile on the go, and never needs to be redownloaded unless you recover it somewhere.

I go back and forth between my user on my roommate's ntsc-u console and my japanese console. It sounds like you don't need to do any of the copying over of that stuff that I described, although I like to do it because it's good to have a backup of your 360 HDD anyways, just in case. This should all go in the 360 FAQ thread maybe?

Maybe, I don't know... Google brings up some worrying results like this one, which give me the chills...

It should be safer to use the Memory Unit method I posted. Or just keep your gamertag on an MU all the time (which is what I do).

Those posts are from over a year ago. There have been several dash updates since then (which may have rectified the issue).

Also, I've just been messing about with the replays - and you can press left trigger to slow down the replay, and right trigger to speed-up the replay. Not seen anyone mention that so far, so thought was worth mentioning.

Man, Maniac is fucking AWESOME. I was playing it and I was like "Well this is just waiting till the end boss to cash in my shit."

But then I kept playing and not only is it not like that but I started realizing all sorts of shit I could be doing but wasn't so now it's like... a nonstop series of trials of doing crazy shit.

I'm still terrible at it but holy hell it's fucking fun.

I'd say the only thing you're missing is pictures of the actual gameplay. Start off with really mild pictures and just get increasingly crazier as the article progresses IMO.

I know there's vids but I think a few really good photos would go a long way.

Also, that Mushi stick of yours is gonna be a bitch. Better get your solderin' iron and some quick disconnects ready.
I am assuming you are talking about the buttons on them? Are they really THAT bad? What would you recommend to replace them?

I'd like some advice too if someone's handing some out. The stick itself is perfect, but the buttons are really that bad. Imagine pressing into crusty, half dried out Play-doh and that's about how the buttons feel on this thing. They have a really wimpy spring to them. Good thing no fast tapping is required, as it's physically impossible for the buttons to move quickly enough.

I think he means the stick—but unlike the other branded sticks Hori's released for 360, the Futari stick comes with an LS-32 stock. So it's cool. Not that the JLF is crap or anything.

The buttons are crap—but happily they use quick disconnects, which means they are easily swapped-out. (You may not realize how bad they are if you've never played on better ones, heh. I didn't until I played on somebody's candy cab.)

Someone was looking for a close-up picture of stick innards in the last thread; I can't remember who or if they check NeoGAF, but Yes Boss! delivered.

ETA button recommendations: If you have/are interested in developing a really light touch, or you don't rest your fingers on the buttons at all, go with Sanwa. They're sensitive enough that the weight of your fingers could set them off. I think they are awesome. :)

If you prefer buttons that have a little traveling distance before they register a press, go with Seimitsu. Most people here who own sticks or cabs seem to use Seimitsu buttons, I think.

Just thought I'd drop a recommendation for the folks in the UK to use www.videogameimports.com for this one. I put an order through on Sunday afternoon and it just arrived today with the DLC code included. A shame I have to put it away and not play it until Christmas. Booo.

I've no idea why I didn't do this in the first place: they offered my impeccable customer service when I got my JX360, something that was worth the extra pennies, frankly. I can tell you for nothing that I'm going to be getting ESPGaluda 2 Black Label from videogameimports.com. Though this realisation is of little consequence as I stare at my empty doormat day after day

Is there any benefit in using the autofire button over tapping main shot in original mode? I'm doing much better now that I have switched back to tapping.. easier for me to manage the movement speed. I'm used to slow buttons etc., seems to take a while to get used to this rapid fire/main shot setup to manage speed.

It's mainly preference, but two main things:

1) For scoring purposes, it is sometimes beneficial to tap C (rapid) shot, instead of tapping A or holding C. Tapping C makes the options not fire their lasers while your shot comes out.
2) Your button will last longer if you're not tapping it all the time. =p

Yeah, I was considering including some "reference" shots, but decided against it, as I'd have needed a load of them to go with all the explanations, and they would have taken me longer to implement than the "placeholders" I ended up using. I'll keep this in mind for my next "How-To" article though, if I can. :)

Well they don't even have to line up with what you're saying really, as long as you put them in the right spot. They can just be general pictures to show people how the game looks. Although I guess pics of Futari look terrible for some reason.

Even still. This is day 14 and counting for me. So if we take the 1-2 week delay at worst then its still going to be another week before the game arrives for me. Good lord. If it was just a 3-5 day delay then it should have been here by now. Meh. I come home from work everyday not even having my hopes up. It eases the pain that much more when I open my mailbox and see that its not there.

Greate write up BM. I tried playing for score last night (i'm a survivor damnit!), and it was easy to grasp thanks to your guide. Raised my high score from 30 to 48 million. I was scared that the scoring mechanic in this game would be too complicated, but its quite easy actually.
