Strikers 1945 III / Strikers 1999
Re: Strikers 1945 III / Strikers 1999
I was hunting around for S99 videos and came across this image on a Korean website:
An all-time high score of 3,731,100. The recorded Arcadia record is, to my knowledge, 3,564,400. This 3.7m score pops up in multiple images (I assume from the same cab). I've got no idea what to make of this - the 3.56m score seemed extremely close to the theoretical maximum to me.
The only thing I can think of is x-5 style extra double techs for the first four stages of both loops, but even if it's possible that would only provide a net 80k bonus due to the bombs used from the 3.56m score. You could argue there's maybe another 10k in medals or something, but there's still another 80k after that unaccounted for. I guess it may be possible to do them bombless, but I've tried a few of them and it doesn't seem possible to pull the x-6 or x-7-style double techs off on them, so I don't think it's likely. Any thoughts?
On another note, I've tightened up my play a little, learned how to NMNB each area, and learned the 1-7 and 2-7 double techs. Working on getting a good run with these strats.

Skin-of-my-teeth clear from STGT. Thoroughly enjoyed this and will try to improve it at some point!

.inp and nvram for Shmupmame 2.2.
STGT score from half a week's play. After all weeks are over, I'll be out to beat Azinth's badass new record.

Re: Strikers 1945 III / Strikers 1999
Hey guys,
Absolutely incredible scores posted in here recently. Back when I was in college I played this game to wit's end to get my 2,284,100 all clear score. Some of the top STGT scores are nothing short of phenomenal. I really hope to see you guys continue to push even further.
Unfortunately I no longer have the time to maintain scoreboards, and I hate to keep you guys waiting on my impossible schedule, so I will be passing this board on.
Please let me know if you'd like to take over.
Thanks.
