I'm not whining at it at all. He started a second thread (out of his own insecurity) because he wasn't sure if he should continue bragging about his virginity or not. Most people said "hey, go for it" while some like myself thought it was a bad idea. Suddenly because I don't agree with the majority out there I'm "whining". But I'm not. I only approached this thread specifically because he tried to turn it around into looking like he isn't actually a fragile nerd with mixed feelings on whether this is appropriate content.bay wrote:- collecting games, a hobby that is fun, should be whined at? (none the less need to be justified by monetary gain of any sort)
Of course Off-Topic hasn't been really fun to browse since I came back but apparently it wants to remain a cesspool. The overall point I was getting at was that there's already threads dedicated to collections where everyone can post their collections and comment on stuff. Having your own thread because I THINK MY COLLECTION IS SUPERIOR, CHECK THIS OUT, MY OWN THREAD, WHAT DO YOU THINK? is retarded.
You don't see me complaining about the universal threads because they're productive and welcoming for anyone to participate in, not just to respond in.
I never claimed that my opinion here was superior to anyone else's. There's also nothing wrong with it. He's the one that confronted me about it (or rather, deleted his entire thread prior to this) and then started flapping around with "you deserve to be sick" and other bullshit which is just low-tier insults picked while the tears are desperately trying to be hidden.bay wrote:- your opinion should matter to Skykid none the less anyone else, especially when presented in lesser form than that found on an elementary school playground?
I have a fairly good idea of what fun is. Fun is browsing an Internet forum without having someone bragging that his penis is thiiiiiiiiis big because he has x amount of games in a language he can't understand. Or the underage anime figures with showing nipples. Let's take another demonstration from THE JAPANESE FIGURE THREAD.bay wrote:the truth is that the majority of hobbies aren't monetary gains but rather losses. what is important is the enjoyment of the action, heck, enjoying yourself could be considered an art form within itself. i know plenty of people that act like they have no idea what fun is. should i add you to the list?
I guess I should brag about Cave PCBs instead (brb, fetching images out of my livejournal) to counter this but truthfully I should've just realized how much of a mistake it was to purchase them. Think about the amount of anime figures I could have acquired.all your whining comes off as is you being jealous and insecure in whatever _your_ situation is.
maybes I has tsu much feminazi influenz and need 2 hed to ze neerest hooters

And to be clear, since my ironic way of confronting anti-otaku-depersonalization sometimes leads to being called a racist,
I never thought you were a racist. I even understood you were being ironic. East Asian women have long been reduced to the constituant level of the 'deadly china doll' in all forms of media, and today it's even worse. The wapanese have constructed their perfect woman, cobbled together from snippits of animu and 4chan. I think you wrongly identified Skykid as one of these people, when in reality, his joshing (how drole) was ultimately ironic, a risque joke.
shame about the homophobic disclaimer thoughI will say that I think asians are cute and all

hey I wasn't just talking about the womenz

Ha ha! This is GREAT! I've never, ever seen anyone pass judgement like this.Elixir wrote:I only approached this thread specifically because he tried to turn it around into looking like he isn't actually a fragile nerd with mixed feelings on whether this is appropriate content.
What's funny is, if you ask people who know me, I don't fit the Otaku nerd bill boys. Sorry to disappoint, but what can I say - you're wrong.
Why don't you have a pop at the buyer too?Elixir wrote: Or the underage anime figures with showing nipples. Let's take another demonstration from THE JAPANESE FIGURE THREAD.
Seriously, this is getting stupid.

Awesome, so now you're stereotyping a category which you're pretty much in. It doesn't matter what you're like in real life or what your friends think of you, I mean, it just doesn't matter. You have bunches of games you can't understand and NSFW figurines and you think it's a wise decision to brag about this on an Internet forum as a regular user with no authority. Shmups.com is not your personal blog.Skykid wrote:Ha ha! This is GREAT! I've never, ever seen anyone pass judgement like this.

What does the buyer of said pedo-paraphernalia have to do with this? It's not like he's distributing them or anything.Skykid wrote:Why don't you have a pop at the buyer too?
Anyway, back to the actual matter at hand. I've said it before and I'm going to say it again. People might not say anything, but this thread makes you look like "one of those", regardless of whether you actually are or not.
You made a thread, for yourself, to brag about your ridiculous spending habits on useless junk. Now this useless junk has been photographed, photoshopped, edited and glorified so everyone here can view that you really don't have anything better to spend your money on, you'd rather just sit around a shrine of unplayable merchandise.
I might be sick but at least I have dignity.
You talk an absolute bag of shit though dude, you really do.Elixir wrote: I might be sick but at least I have dignity.

Wow, LOL @ all the bitchassness being displayed in this thread.
Nothing wrong with showing what you got, Skykid. After all, when its said and done, you're having fun and enjoying great games and thats what counts. Haters, why get mad at how another man spends his money? Its isn't like it was gonna go in your pockets anyhow. Don't hate the gamer, haters-hate the fact that you're too poor to afford a collection like that.
BTW...know any good truck rental companies near you?

I do find it funny how people think it's fine to preach to others about their buying habits, and then resort to insults when people don't listen or care.
And if you're going to resort to using 4chan insults, at least use the correct lingo. :p
Also, tits.

Nice stuff, Skykid. Want to buy some figs? ^_-

Good things come to those who wait.
You're dreaming Ken. I've never even been warned, which would make sense, as I've never done anything wrong.Violent Ken wrote: LOL...as far as I know, you're now monitored (and more than me...)
Much hilarity on Killer Cabs - that kind of backfired on you didn't it?

i think the internet backfired on Violent Ken.Skykid wrote:Much hilarity on Killer Cabs - that kind of backfired on you didn't it?

as for our bottled friend, the kid with his head in the clouds, and the rest of the merry bunch, we're just here to waste some time on the internets and maybe have some fun in the process.
it's not about fitting in, finding acceptance or becoming a king amongst nerds, it's about sharing some common interests. we don't all have the same interests, but we sort of all hover around them.
i don't see a problem posting a thread about your stuff versus posting a thread of everyone's stuff. if you have a lot to contribute, people will probably just say 'start your own thread, stop spamming us with your pictures'.. so there's no winning there either.
anyone interested in my stuff can track my thread, etc, just like any other topic i've created. this is a forum to talk about topics, a topic about your stuff is a fine subject since you naturally know about what you own.
i have some pcbs too, will i start a thread about them? doubtful. do i share what games i've run across with the forum? sure. whats the point in doing that?.. finding people who are interested.
but enough banter on my part, lets find other topics to be overly excited about.

There aren't three threads about this discussion - I moved all the stuff off of this one cos it's gotten bogged down by hateful imps. The others are all locked down, one of those belongs to Violent Ken. And, like most of his threads, it lasted about five seconds.jp wrote:Ok, do we really need THREE threads about this?

How about we out all this behind us and start being nice to each other again?
This entire forum can be such a funny, friendly place, but recently it seems to have gone a little off the rails in that regard.
I mean, come on, half the arguing in this thread has just fallen into the kind whereby the opposed sides just pick away at very little to do with the original conflict, instead focusing on some silly little points.
It just seems like we're bitching at each other for the sake of it, getting carried away with something trivial when we could be having a good time sharing a passion.
I'll even put my squirrely tits away if we all make up (Though I can still PM images of me lifting up my tail for a nominal PayPal payment).
