The disc art for Out Zone is pretty pimp. I wonder what revision of the game was used for the video?

Judge for yourself. If Space Invaders is a shmup, then Comso Gang is also one.
I'd say yes.

You're right, almost been out almost a year too. This one really flew under the radar, I wonder if anyone picked it up.

Rancor has it available in the infernally tempting Superplay DVD section of his shop if anyone's looking for a copy.

Just noticed this thread, so I'll post a few that I have that I dont see listed. Let me know if you need any more info.

First is a doujin release of Guwange. It's a VCD, and it's in tate!

Image

This is the DVD release of Recca. I've looked at the book, and it gives no clue as to who it was made by.

Heres a Super Starforce doujin:

And finally heres a 1943 double-DVD doujin that came with a book of xeroxed pages.

the guwange VCD and recca DVD are just copies of their VHS counterparts (I have both of em).

made a note of it and added the others :)

ed: i also have the Raiden 4 DVD, its great value if you like the game (and like all raiden superplays becomes quite the snoozefest after a while), surreal playthroughs in both dualplay and singelplay modes.

Disc 7 of the recently released Toaplan Shooting Chronicle (by SuperSweep) is a DVD with a few replays. Titled...
EXTREME MOVIES or EXTREAM MOVIES, depending on where you look.

Same! Same! Same! Development Version - Player 木之本まい’ん - Score 10,000,000 over.

Kyukyoku Tiger - Player Knight2k - Score 10,000,000 over.
(starts at the beginning of the 4th loop)

Tatsujin - Player ACU-AZUKI-KZS - Score 1,556,930 end 2-1.
(there could be more information concerning this but it seems fairly straight forward)

I just got my OutZone DVD from rancor (a fantastically good seller, as it happens).

I'm surprised that the superplays are played with insanely high autofire. The PCB version has slow autofire on one weapon, and none on the other. The DVD let's you see bosses ripped apart in seconds, which is a shame in that people playing off the PCB (which isn't compatible with my stick's autofire circuit) can't really learn many strategies.

I also suspect it's being played off MAME (from the way it looks). You also see the player make the secret 'point dropping cars' appear. I think they may be part of the 'prototype' version of OutZone that made it to MAME.

[MOD EDIT: To clear up any confusion, let it be known that I split the thread from here as (thanks in part to me!) conversation had moved towards autofire circuits and their compatibility with OutZone. spadgy]
