Now all it needs is a little speaker in the console that yells NINTENDO SIXTY FOURRRRR when it's turned on.

Haha, I had the same exact thought! Unfortunately I was sort of on a schedule (friend chomping at the bit to get a working system in hand). Easiest way probably would be one of those toy pens (used to see them at KB Toys for a few bucks) that could record/replay sound. Just record the desired sound byte, wire it up inside (might need a bit of glue logic) and you are ready to "6-T-4!!!!!" :D

Made some shaders:
UV-independent detail maps (only for static objects ATM)
screen space ambient occlusion
local dynamic range compression (HDR)
soft particles
layered fog
bloom
color correction

Cool sketches, Fox! Keep going, you can get even better than this =). It would be better to draw on plain white paper only though, unless you have nothing else available. Lined paper distracts from a good sketch!

My sensei once told me that you must make 10,000 bad drawings before you make your first good one. I reckon I'm about halfway through my 10,000 =P.

I can't draw or color for shit, but my friend and I challenged each other to compose a villanelle today, and this is the crap I came up with. Game-related, so I felt like sharing.

The Players, J. Ransom

The arcade glows with unearthly lights
People at cabinets doing their best to win
The players compete for bragging rights

A shooting game player in the corner ignites
A screen-clearing smartbomb with a gleeful grin
The arcade glows with unearthly lights

Burly jock and nerdy kid engage in simulated fights
With a twist of the stick, one shouts, “Shoryuken!”
The players compete for bragging rights

A rhythm game near the front promises aural delights
The players stomping arrows create a cacophonous din
The arcade glows with unearthly lights

In the back, four players control four polychromatic knights
As they all struggle for gold, you realize greed is their sin
The players compete for bragging rights

The winners are ecstatic—as high as kites
The losers walk home with hearts full of chagrin
The arcade glows with unearthly lights
The players compete for bragging rights

Villanelles are difficult.

Anthropomorphic Kyubei: LOL.

I just finished watching this show the other day. One of the most interesting anime in some time.

Cool stuff, you're a lot better at drawing ships than I am.

I wrote kind of an interesting story for an assignment a while back. I'm going to embellish it over the next few days and post it here (and really, it'll have to be a total rework since the original file was deleted).

EU03, you are the one who runs the Mecha Fetus Blog? I'm a huge fan of your work. My favorite one had a lot of blood, trannies, and a crucifix if I recall correctly. I laughed like a madman the first time I saw it.

cool!! .where did you learn that (ie. tutorial, dvd or something that i can go and study on it)
i kinda want to use it because i don't have 3dsmax with me anymore, need some waypoint to kick start learning how to use this application.
i model in max before but i kinda feel like this 3d package has different workflow.

A small prototype. Too bad I don't have time to work on this anymore, wanted to turn it into an actual game.

Turn it into "I wanna be the sniper tank". And you shoot down Raiden fighters.

You know you want to. >_>
