I'm considering getting ESPGaluda II soon and I've been looking around but I'm kinda ignorant since the only websites I know of are Play-Asia and NCSX. I've heard various things about each.

I've heard good things especially about NCSX but I live in Australia so I guess there may be some extra factors involving international shipping here. I've heard that US is actually rather quick in sending stuff to Australia though, so I guess it's definitely a contender if not the main.Special World wrote:NCSX is A+ if you're in the US.
Ordered from them probably 7 times, never had a problem.
They even packaged my Bullet Soul and Eschatos orders together and shipped them on release, even though I think my Eschatos was past some pre-order inventory date.
Hmm, I see. They certainly have most of the information up there and the information in their Customer Support was quite helpful. I'll keep an eye on those guys when I finally get my act together.Sumez wrote:I used Yesasia for MMP/PS - very pleased with their service.

Re: Espgaluda II
I was wondering - is Xbox 360 mode comparable to arcade mode in terms of slowdown, etc? I've been playing it for the enhanced graphics and lack of gem-glitch, but I know on some of Cave's games arcade mode is better.

As far as I'm aware the lack of gem glitch is the only gameplay difference between the port modes. As for the overall accuracy, refer to this post.

Re: Espgaluda II
I should of asked the question a long time ago, but now it seems this is really getting on my nerves when playing for score in EII on the 360. My high scores will not save... Every time I back out to the main menu from the different modes or power off the system, my high score resets and reverts to an older lower score I got when I first starting playing EII upon release. I have tried saving the replay and still, the high score resets. I must be doing something wrong... I'm sorry if this topic was covered before but I did a fairly thorough search and could come up with nothing about EII failing to save high score data...

Do you know that the first high score table is only for Today's scores (aka in this session), and the high score displayed in-game is also the best in this session? If you want to see your all-time high scores, you have to check the other table (B or C button should do it). That's probably the problem you're having, and Espgaluda II behaves like regular Deathsmiles in that regard.

Thanks Aliquantic! You have made my day. Can't wait to push that B or C button when I get home from work then and see em'. Re: Espgaluda II
Bumping this.
I really don't under stand the Zeshikai/Zetsushikai mode. It'll appear that I'm doing the same thing with it in several runs, but my score will be extremely different. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong with it, or what I'm doing the times I'm scoring higher with it. I can't even get close to double extending on stage 1, though I've extended once a few times. And I'm aware that you go back to normal kakusei if hit, I'm comparing times where I keep the Zetsushikai. And it seems that I run out of gems/gold much quicker than some of the vids and replays.
I've also been trying to 1cc, and I'm really getting annoyed at all my stupid mistakes. I've gotten up to Stage 6 a few times, and my best run both in score and survival is a little over 157 million game overing before the stage 6 bosses.
Plus I'm annoyed of constantly screwing up the Zetsushikai in Stage 2's second half, not having enough gems/gold for the stage 2 boss, getting Zetsushikai autobarriers due to failing easy dodges, crappy unexpected misses in all sorts of places, autobombs ruining the stage 3 extend, failing the stage 4 boss safespots, not knowing how to deal with the second half of stage 5, how to safespot that one final boss attack before the final phase, and other stuff. And I know I could no miss to at least stage 5 if I didn't screw up, maybe even to Seseri, but I mess up every time. I would likely die on purpose before Seseri though as Shin Seseri's second phase is extremely hard. The first and final ones aren't too bad, but the second is a potential runkiller.

Re: Espgaluda II
It's a fairly difficult game, how long have you been playing it? I can't give much advice on scoring because I haven't mastered Zetsushikai yet, but for getting the All-clear (Ageha) I used Kakusei very defensively in stages 5-1 and 5-2. I'm terrible at using safespots and always legitimately dodge every pattern rather than try to be in the right spot and let patterns whiz by me. Practice the heck out of Seseri to the point of no-missing her over half the time - as you've noticed, getting hit a bunch by her is a runkiller
(just like any boss of any game)

Re: Espgaluda II
I've had the game for over a year but was never really serious about it until recently. I don't know how much time I've actually played it.
Normal Seseri is mostly fine. I don't really have a problem with her as I pretty consistently can no miss her with 2 guard barrier uses. However, I never suicide when I play shmups with very few exceptions in if it's good for scoring like with Pink Sweets Arrange, so if I no missed to Seseri, I would pretty much be screwed. Of course, I don't really need to worry about that at the moment as I still get Zeshikai autobombs in lots of spots and I don't know how to survive the second half of stage 5 without bombspamming anyway. It'd also be nice to be able to get to her with enough gems and gold for all 3 Zeshikai opportunities. I usually only get to do 1 or 2 of them.

Re: Espgaluda II
The same as DOJ; i.e. autofire in their face at the very top of the screen. Solves most problems in pretty much any non-Yagawa Cave game. Here it also replenishes your crystals, so double as good. :)
It would appear that you aren't getting into the cycle of cashing in and recharging correctly. Kakusei is mainly used to recharge the gold counter and clear the screen of bullets. Zetsushikai is best used when there is a large enemy shooting lots of bullets followed by a wave of popcorn (that is ideally shooting a wave of bullets on its own). So you would weaken the large enemy in normal mode, then switch to Zetsu to deliver a finishing blow. Lots of bullets are now canceled and regenerated as Zetsu homing bullets. When you see that most (all) bullets have been regenerated, kill one popcorn enemy. All the bullets are now being regenerated again. Give them a second or two, and kill one more popcorn enemy. Repeat until you're low on crystals/gold. When you see it's enough, switch to normal mode, immediately switch to Kakusei and kill one popcorn enemy. You have now turned all these bullets into gold, which helps both scoring and survival.
