I wish I knew, man. I found it in an old eBay auction and the seller does not remember the serial number.

He can tell you the serial number when he gets it.

haha, wow, what are the odds? Hopefully he posts his findings here.Konsolkongen wrote:Pretty sure em0ti0n bought itHe can tell you the serial number when he gets it.
I can vouch that the SNS-1CHIP-02 has the awesome 1CHIP video quality *and* does NOT have that ugly thick vertical bar!
Now I wonder what, if anything, the 1CHIP-03 can improve upon?
c'mon, em0ti0n! Post your findings

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
Wow... this is getting absurd! I still haven't found another 1CHIP locally... Now there's a 1CHIP-03?Hamburglar wrote:Oh geez, yet another SNES motherboard revision found!
You have a 1CHIP-02 right? So no vertical bar on that huh? Care to take some HQ macro shots of the PCB for comparison? I'm wondering if it's a PCB design issue and/or a component difference that resolves the issue.

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
Yeah I have a 1CHIP-01 and a 1CHIP-02. The 01 has the vertical bar, the 02 does not. I couldn't believe it. I have like 6 different SNES motherboard revisions, the 1CHIP-02 is the only one to not have the vertical bar. I will take pictures later. I tried figuring out what the difference could be between the 01 and 02 1CHIP but the only thing that looked different is the 02 has the same encoder as the SNES Mini. However, the SNS-CPU-RGB-02 also has the SNES Mini encoder and that has the vertical bar. So I can't even imagine what it could be.RGB32E wrote:Wow... this is getting absurd! Fun "fact" I learned the hard way: some SNES 2's/mini/jr's have the thick vertical line, some do not. The motherboards between the two are the exact same model numbers on them, so I can't even fathom what it could be from. I still have a strong feeling it's power related because the vertical bar is way stronger if using a PowerPak.
I am dying to see the inside of the 1CHIP-03, even though the 1CHIP-02 is pretty much perfect considering it has the beautiful picture with no vertical bar. What could the 03 possibly improve upon?

Yeah, I bought it. It is being held at customs office nowKonsolkongen wrote:Pretty sure em0ti0n bought itHe can tell you the serial number when he gets it.

Unfortunately, I'm in the middle of moving to another place and it could take a while. Nevertheless, I'm really curious what improvement (if any) CHIP-03 could introduce in comparison to CHIP-01 SNES, which I already have (slight vertical bar is present though, bought from the very same seller).
I'm going to post serial numbers later, no worries

I can't believe what a small world this is. I saw that auction by pure coincidence and it just so happens someone here bought it. Amazing!em0ti0n wrote:Yeah, I bought it. Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
I have managed to get my super everdrive to work to my old scart cable however the picture fades into black
so I went from having no picture to having a picture that fades into black
can anyone please suggest a snes rgb cable for a PAL SNES to work with both the super everdrive and XRGB-mini?
thanks

You're running it through a SCART switch aren't you ? Replace your SCART switch with a better one.I have managed to get my super everdrive to work to my old scart cable however the picture fades into black![]()

Im actually using a eu to jap21 cable from retro gaming cables, and Im not using a switcher

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
fade to black sounds like what I've heard described when you use the wrong cable for the snes. RGB output on the snes differs between NTSC and PAL consoles (as well as between nintendo snes / gamecube / etc)

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
Your problem can most likely be resolved by bypassing the capacitors in the cablejaxmazon wrote: thx for the reply

You can't just randomly paste in japanese text without giving us a translation better than "Yabaiyabai. . . If you do not publish XRGB-4, but not black life history. Www you my best"RGB32E wrote:http://twitter.com/famitakun/status/213509224423100417

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
Figured someone who posts here could give a better translation!
I'll see what I can do.

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
thanks for the help guys, turns out it was due to the psu it only had 1 amp
so I used another psu and the super everdrive works perfect now plus I'm back to using my new rgb cable and it works a dream now.

Shit! Shit!... If XRGB-4 doesn't get released, this product will be remembered as a dark history (dark history similar to the Virtual Boy, Sega Neptune, or SNES CD-ROM). To prevent such dark history, I must work harder...
Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
I thought when I ordered my mini that they'd probably make some announcement of the XRGB4 lol. Still looks like the Mini is a solid product. might not even be a need for an XRGB4.

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
I don't see the point in a XRGB-4 the mini is an amazing scaler, other features that are missing I assume will be introduced in future updatesBuckoA51 wrote:I thought when I ordered my mini that they'd probably make some announcement of the XRGB4 lol. Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
The mini is great and all... but only one RGB input using the 8 pin mini din connector is far from ideal. The handling of 240p with certain colors isn't quite right (reds in particular). Switching from 240p and 480i (vice versa) is takes much longer on the mini than the XRGB-3. The remote is still someone temperamental (as was the XRGB-3). I miss the additional D2 RGB input that would handle sync differently between the RGBC and RGBHV settings. Overall the mini is an improvement from the 3, but there are areas that could be improved!BuckoA51 wrote:I thought when I ordered my mini that they'd probably make some announcement of the XRGB4 lol. Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
I'd personally love to see a bugfixed "B1" mode too, with absolutely minimal lag where it was possible, then a mode like the framemeister for sources that weren't able to just be simply line-doubled. Guess we'll see eventually what Micomsoft have up their sleeves.

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
All I need is a HD15 input connector on the back with the ability to switch between RGBS/RGBHV/YPbPr (and why not RGsB btw) input mode by software. And that would support all resolution from 240p to WUXGA.
That way I would have only one cable running between my extron MVX switch and the XRGB.
Just for this I would buy an XRGB4 even if the feature set is about the same as the mini
Nonstandard connector on the front?, no thanks.
