Hey guys, I'm coming over this weekend. I have a special mission to plug the Saturn I bought off Udderdude into one of Cody's TVs that have an S-Video input. My projector only has composite, component and HDMI and none of my S-Video-to-Composite adapters seem to work with it. Sound comes out, though, so I'm pretty sure the problem's my projector.

I might be moving some furniture early in the afternoon but hopefully can get that out of the way in time to get a serious shmup session in.

I has been so arranged

You can plug it into the XM29. S-Video is really nice on it!

Glad to hear you can make it out!

So, I was pretty sure I had Mushihime-sama for the PS2, so I dug around today and found it, and then realized why I probably hadn't played it very much.

There's no sound?

I even 'acquired' another copy and it has the same problem ... BUMMER

hahah well whaddya know ... I Googled "mushihime ps2 no sound", and the 7th link was this

http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?p=62034#p62034

Not sure why it would make any difference, but there's the answer. I'm using the optical out, and apparently the game doesn't support digital audio?

Ok, so right now it's about 50/50, it could go either way.

I really hope I can make it, but I can't commit to it right now.

Alright, I can 100% confirm now.

IT'S ON LIKE TRON

Edit: I think I'm going to bring the Strider 2 board, if that's cool? I have had very little chance to play it so far, and I'd love to try it on the versus?

I do them every second saturday like clockwork, even if I haven't updated the thread, you can plan based on that. I generally update the thread the monday before a meet; I will just start updating it right after a meet so people can plan for the next one.

Next meet will be July 23. :)

Oh....and I don't have a pic handy but Chris finally put the ALL on NITD with a 16+mill score, and he even put up a 5-5 score of 18+mill!

WTF!

I have a full time job; I am not home at 11am during the week. I didn't get the text until I got home as I don't carry my personal cell during the day. Sorry I didn't get back to you.

In other news, my A/C is getting fixed today, so it will be much nicer for the next meet. It actually hit 34c in my apartment last night! And it was 31c at 6am this morning. Not nice for sleeping!

Sweet AC = more cab time, less sitting directly in front of the fan, hehe. And I gotta give it up for shmuppylove for beating and getting hi scores in NitD in that condition, nice one

Haven't even got an AC here. I have a fan aimed at me, though. Considering getting rid of my PC that doubles as a gigantic space heater, damn nVidia cards :P

For realz! Dude wasn't even sweating! 8) We have no choice for the A/C, as soon as it hits like 25c+ outside it heats up like an oven. Try sleeping when its 34c inside at night!

That reminds me, I need to find a high score thing for that game; I am convinced he is in world record score territory now. ghey!!! you have to register at Twin Galaxies to see scores now. :?

Well according to Twin Galaxies, they have a high of 23,411,700, and 2nd place is 20,726,500. Your 18mill is good for 3rd, as they have 16,087,200. All mame though, and I don't know how they work, but all the scores they have listed are from Aug.31/2006.

I am going to try and find some other scores, as I'm sure the Asian boards will be much higher.

edit: can't really find any other score boards, although neogeo.com shows mmsadda with 3.5mill  , and there is that thread where Tonk hacked it for a 30mill score.

I did find this tasty tidbit here though:

* There are many cracks in the wood/stone of most levels. Some of these will reveal a fireball that will make your shot fly all over the board. Experiment with throwing at different angles to find these hidden spots. Most will clear the entire board as the ball flings out of control.

I figured it was something like that, no worries man.

And I think I would sleep out on your porch if my place got that hot. Get an extra fan next time it breaks, they are like 25 bucks at home depot.

It wasn't even that bad on Saturday.

Only so much a fan can do, it just moves the air, it doesn't cool it. We are on the top floor of a flat tar roofed building; it gets ungodly hot without the A/C. Plus, when its 30c out, blowing that air into the apartment does nothing to cool it down. The other issue is because of all the cars and concrete downtown, the ambient heat doesn't fade at night like it would in residential areas.

And I don't really have a porch, we have a 3x3 landing on my fire escape, but we also have raccoons who live on the roof, so no go either way.

Needless to say, I am stoked to go home to a cool place today! :D

Not really, and the only time they are all on at once is for meets or parties. No more heat than a TV would generate, although the cab with the mame setup gets warmer on account of the un-cased PC in it.

I don't play much games in the summer anyways; way too nice outside! :D
