How exactly do the 1.01 codes work? If I apply it to my US account, can I also apply it to my JP account on a JP system? Or is it stuck to my US account? If so, can I disassociate it from the account and get it on my JP account? Just curious before I use the code on my US system.

I can pretty much say I fell in love with the game before playing it, just by listening to the 5th stage BGM in a Youtube video.Skykid wrote:I dunno, I really love the Chinese theme of the stage 5 music. The beat is pumping.StarCreator wrote:I also have to say I'm a huge fan of the Mushi1 stage 4 and 5 themes... but Mushi2, aside from stage 4, doesn't really do it for me musically.

Definitely one of the best shmup BGMs ever composed.

Re: [X360] Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5 is region free
The way slowdown is implemented in 360 Futari is still as annoying as any other though, due to player shots being a factor. Sometimes when I switch between rapid/beam firing the game decides to change speeds for a second or two, affected by onscreen player shot count. Not as smooth a play experience as it should be... it's up to the player to get used to it, of course.StarCreator wrote:The slowdowns are an aspect of the arcade hardware the game originally ran on, to the point that it has become an integral part of gameplay - the game would be much more difficult if slowdown didn't exist.HamidoOs wrote:What's with all these slowdowns? I mean, I have annoying frame drops in scenes with lots of enemies on screen. (The game does not skip frames, right?)
Sorry if this has been discussed before. Any ideas to fix this? I'm playing on 1080P resolution.
I've now been conditioned to accept all slowdown without question though, after my initial year or so of trying to play DP and DDP ports with "Wait Off", which was a brutal lesson. But it would be nice if they could program these games so that player shot count didn't affect slowdown (e.g. internally calculate fake bullets even when you are not firing).

Even if the slowdown is not arcade perfect as mentioned over at STG the port is good. It may be a pain for seasoned PCB players to adapt a new strategy due to the new design but it still very playable on its own merit. The two may not be interchangeable but should not be missed. I just don't know why people expect exact 1:1 ports of arcade games. If the PCB were the port then we would have a real issue.

The PCB does the same thing. I'm not saying it's identical in every situation but it DOES do that, and yes it will get you killed sometimes.Thunder Force wrote:The way slowdown is implemented in 360 Futari is still as annoying as any other though, due to player shots being a factor. I still laugh at people who claim all the slowdown on the PCBs is intentional. At best, it's simply 'managed'.

Question: Can I download the 1.01 DLC to my memory card and use it from there? Y'know, just in case my 360 does decide to go belly-up on some sort of whim.
Also, I'm listening to the Double Arrange Album now. I am very impressed so far.

Hm, I got dropped from Xbox Live while playing so I signed in while the final boss died to submit my score, which worked fine. Happened again next playthough, I forgot and got an error dialogue come hiscore time, so I signed in and it just kept saying I wasn't connected until I gave up and didn't submit my record breaking score. Weird, at least it doesn't immediately throw you out the game when you lose connection, I guess.
Re: [X360] Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5 is region free
Yes, but you must be signed into Live if you're using it on an Xbox that you didn't originally download it onto (unless you've used the DRM transfer tool to transfer the digital rights to your new console).Momijitsuki wrote:Question: Can I download the 1.01 DLC to my memory card and use it from there?
Interestingly, when viewing the 1.01 DLC in the 360 memory manager, actual total file size totals 56KB which makes it even more unlikely (most likely impossibe) that the DLC is anything other than a digital unlock key.
I did a bit of research at the weekend and discovered that PC tools now exist to read fully encrypted 360 HDDs and Memory Cards meaning that you can backup all your content to a PC HDD. This means that if ever Live disappears for good, then there will always be a way to recover your data.
Re: [X360] Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5 is region free
To read and decrypt, or just to backup? I always keep a backup of my 360 HDD using a Sata adapter I bought for a few bucks on eBay, but when I copied stuff over to my Japanese 360, for example, I still have to be logged into Live to use it. Hopefully down the road this stuff will be completely cracked though.bcass wrote:Momijitsuki wrote:I did a bit of research at the weekend and discovered that PC tools now exist to read fully encrypted 360 HDDs and Memory Cards meaning that you can backup all your content to a PC HDD. wow thats a ton of nice sticks, and good to see a modern display of that size rotated! I'm running futari on a projector here, i should take a picture.Battlesmurf wrote:Not mine (yes boss from Gaf). Wow- that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside
Right now though I came to post that I'm getting graphical glitches and was wondering if anyone else has seen such things... For me on stage 2, the ice shaft things that rise out the ground are made up of the wrong tile pieces or just solid pink squares, probably a sign that my x360 is going to die... I haven't tried restarting the console yet since I'm afraid to.
Re: [X360] Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5 is region free
Yeah, it has to be loaded back into the console it came off, unless you have access to Live. What's needed is an offline DRM transfer tool. I'm sure this used to exist before the current policy of having to do it on the website, but I can't find it now.dmauro wrote:To read and decrypt, or just to backup? Select "no" when the warning menu for Ultra pops up.Jeneki wrote:Ok, came home over lunch to get the exact achievement text (work blocks the xbox live website).
Actually, it gets even more humorous when I toss the text into a translator webpage.
translates to玉砕できません
ウルトラモード選択時「秒殺の覚悟はできていますか?」で「いいえ」を選択した
I chose [, no,] in [whether ready for the second homicide?] at the time of the ultra mode choice that can't die an honorable death
Anyway, my copy arrived and so far I'm really happy with it. I'll get a picture of the LE up on my blog sometime tonight when I'm not busy typing this sentence. I haven't given it enough time to have solid impressions of it though, I'm still messing with the screen settings. If anyone has some recommendations for using Arcade mode on a tate'd CRT, feel free to share.
Re: [X360] Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5 is region free
Am I the only one who didn't beat Novice Ultra on my first try??? I saw the two 1ups but they vanished off screen before I could get them, then I died during the second form of the final boss. 630,474,756
It was a pretty comfortable difficulty, need to see what the easiest rank is like in the x360 Ultra mode.

I died on the second form of the final boss. But, damn, is the Novice Ultra so much fun and relaxing. Really enjoy that they put it in there...even if for score attack.kemical wrote:Am I the only one who didn't beat Novice Ultra on my first try??? I

地獄の一丁目 Clear the first stage of Ultra Mode - 15G
地獄の三丁目 Clear the third stage of Ultra Mode - 25G
Caveの敗北 Clear the fifth stage of Ultra Mode - 50G
These one also need 1cc?

It means gain the required point value for an extra life by picking up a bomb or a power up item. I think I might actually have gotten this one >_> I got some randomass achievement without realizing what it was for. Maybe it was just for extending in general. I've gotten 150+ points out of the game purely through 1.5's Original and Ultra modes, so I have no idea what else there is for arrange and shit.ArcPan wrote:やったー、もういっちょやったー Get an extend by picking up a Bomb or Power-up Item 20G

I tried arrange Ultra mode and see the Larsa for one coin but I was finished on the final action >_<.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I received my copy today.
Why is this news? I ordered from Play-Asia using their slow "bubble envelope" shipping method. I'm in New York.
So anyone else who also used this shipping method should be getting their copies any day now, if they haven't already.
Side note: despite pre-ordering in October, I did not receive the 1.01 DLC card. Oh, well.
Is there any *functional* difference between Arcade and Xbox 360 modes in "Ver 1.5?" I understand that Arcade uses the original graphics and X360 mode is redrawn (and freaking gorgeous btw), but is there any other difference? It looks like the answer is no, but I figured I'd ask. Thanks.

Yeah I've seen that - my machine is only 3 months old and running everything else fine, including Forza. It was happening a little bit every time I get to the first boss as he first runs in, almost like the initial skin that breaks off was missing just for 1/4 of a second. Only happens to me in Maniac mode. Very likely a program bug (maybe hitting a sprite limit).kemical wrote:Right now though I came to post that I'm getting graphical glitches and was wondering if anyone else has seen such things... While playable, it doesn't feel like what it was like when I was playing the PCB. I'm using:
2x Scanlines
16
Colors = everything off
SimplifyDraw = off
This seems better, unless someone can suggest something else.
Re: [X360] Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5 is region free
Playing the Arcade mode + Extron Emotia? I'm still missing a VGA adapter and can't test it myself... someone out there with the right set up is willing to upload pics of Mishishimesma Futari running on the 360 with nice scanlines? The filters in the game are ok but unfortunately they go away when turning "SimplifyDraw" on to get rid of the wallpaper image as you mentioned.Elixir wrote:set it to SimplifyDraw = On inside the maniac > extra settings, that removes all filtering and gets rid of all extra UI effects/wallpaperkemical wrote:Elixir wrote:If anyone has some recommendations for using Arcade mode on a tate'd CRT, feel free to share.

That's good to know. I selected air economy box, but it hasn't arrived yet (I'm in California). I guess it'll arrive either tomorrow or Saturday. It would be kind of funny if mine comes with the DLC card, despite having ordered the game on release day.yyr wrote:I just wanted to let everyone know that I received my copy today.

These are the best I could get for right now. It's a bit difficult to get good shots since the pause screen has a ton of crap put up on the screen when you pause it.
Some are via extron and some are via the ingame screen options with no extron. Can you tell which is which?

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?
