Works like a charm to use a PS3 based Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 Special Addition (endowed with all Sanwa parts) variant arcade joystick on a PS TV or Vita TV setup with no lag issues to contend with whatsoever. As a bonus, Jeff Minter's TxK has full arcade joystick support from the get-go (which is pure "extra" frosting/icing on the cake if you will). If you use either a Dual Shock 3 or Dual Shock 4 controller in conjuction with the MUA & desired plugged-in gaming control device, it'll register as a "number 2" controller on the PS TV or Vita TV micro console itself (while still providing full functionality if it needed be). Easy as pie to use.

Plus, the fact that the MUA device has built-in auto-fire capability (is another plus in my book when playing games on the ol' PS TV & Vita TV as well).

It's possible to use a Hori 360 RAP setup with the MUA on a PS Vita & Vita TV also.

I was really disappointed when I wasn't able to plug in my arcade stick to use on the vita tv... actually really disappointed with the vita tv for almost everything that I was expecting from the thing. No youtube app support same with netflix but this device might be a redeeming factor

thanks for the post

The web browser supports html5 and is probably the better way to view Youtube anyway. Just saying, the removal of the Youtube app on the Vita does not affect my ability to watch Youtube videos on my Vita in any way. Sadly, it does reflect what Sony thinks of the Vita.

VVVVVV is out. Pretty much a straight port with pixel doubled graphics. Would've preferred if there was an option for bilinear stretching to fullscreen too as I don't think the graphics is too complicated for halving the resolution and resizing that. I know you can as the 3DS port proves it.

On my vita at one point the browser did not support any sort of videos. I assumed it was true for the Vita TV as well.

It was only until I forget which firmware update that it became available.

But still though its sort of annoying that there is no app for it.

I use to love watching videos and browsing on the Vita but I'm finding my Smart phone performing those tasks a whole lot better. Not to mention the screen on my smart phone is better too.

Just bumping this to say if you want a physical copy of the Muv-Luv games, you better back the Kickstarter now.

Limited Run Games is also worth following. as the name implies they're doing limited physical runs of previous digital exclusives. That's their plan anyway. So far they've released Breach & Clear and they've confirmed they will be partnering with Zeboyd Games for Cosmic Star Heroine. You'll probably want to sign up for their newsletter if that interests you, as I expect it to sell out quickly most of their titles quickly.

Really hating all the limited physical runs for Vita games (and to a lesser degree Wii U games). Better than nothing of course, but so expensive if you miss out.

I saw Muv Love as well but I have no idea how good they are.

I still haven't gotten to play the Danganronpa games yet either. If I'm going to be getting any visual novels it has to be the Danganronpa series seeing how people have been recommending those games.

I'm sure glad I got my copy of Retro City Rampage DX for the Vita... price has jumped since I last bought it.

Muv-Luv Alternate is the highest rated VN on vndb. It supposedly requires playing the first game first though and that game isn't even in the top 100. So uh, yeah.

The second highested rated VN on vndb is also on Vita: Steins;Gate. It's worth getting, but overrated and I would definitely get Danganronpa first.

I'm still fairly new to the Visual Novel Games.

I've only played maybe Yu-No and that was way back on the Saturn... thank god we got a fan translation of the game because even back then on the Saturn the voice acting was awesome enough to get me hooked.

Played the demo of Xblaze code embrio and sort of got me interested in the game.

Danganronpa games are a must. Will eventually get all three

I've heard of Steins Gate but never considered it... I will look into that one too.

anything else you recommend?

btw I know this isn't related or anything but I've never managed to play any of the Ninja Gaiden Games and I heard Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus was good on the Vita... seeing how I missed out since the days of Ninja Gaiden on Xbox I was thinking of picking that up.

Turns out the English version of Alfa System's Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines, which in the US and EU was digital-only, received retail treatment in Asia. A pleasant surprise.

Some more things that I should probably mention:

Next month's PS+ games are Dragon Fin Soup (which seems interesting) and Invizimals (a PSP game? uh...). Only one cross buy game and only one Vita native game. Very disappointing month in that sense. Less disappointing in that I don't have to spend money to try Dragon Fin Soup.

X-Com for Vita is starting to be the worst kept secret of all time: it's happening. This is really exciting for me, hoping for a physical release and decent performance. Sadly I doubt either will come true.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky Second Chapter is now out.
anything else you recommend?
Not really no, but if you've never had a PSP definitely get Corpse Party before considering Steins;Gate or XBlaze games.

A bit late on mentioning that. You should see the prices people are trying to sell it for on eBay.

Like Retro City Rampage DX, I sort of want it in my collection. On the other hand, neither of the games interests me, I'd never play them and paying scalper prices for that when there's digital copies available just seems stupid.

Da fock is that?! Probably a really small run, right? Definitely not gonna bite then. I've already played through the PSN version anyway and I have a Japanese physical copy which I got for 1/10 of the price that's being asked for the Asian one.

I recall Baldur's Gate being hinted at a couple of years ago too. Sadly, nothing transpired.

Final Fantasy X-2 is also a "fun" one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Final-Fantasy-X ... SwI-BWLM6b

NISA's also did a "limited edition" only release of Ar Nosurge and will do another for Atelier Escha and Logy. So if you want physical releases of those, not going to be cheap.

Phantom Breaker is another of those limited edition only things. Not cheap. Another thing I sort of want but can't justify spending the money on.

I never saw Baldur's Gate working on a gamepad control scheme on a small screen.

Seriously... how come I never heard much about these special limited releases... the only one I've ever heard of that actually got a release was Retro City Rampage DX

Now Final Fantasy X-2 actually got one? Where do I look to get these releases?

I'm hoping Shovel Knights gets a physical as well... never played the game so I'm crossing my fingers for one.

PS4, Wii U and 3DS only for that one, I think.

I think I read somewhere that there is a possibility of a Vita release....

I already pre-ordered the 3DS version but I'd rather own it on the Vita. Vita hardware just feels extremely comfortable to play on.

I hope the Vita gets some decent Black Friday deals this year. Not really expecting it since I didn't even see Vita at it's regular price in most ads last year, though.

Highly doubt there would be any sort of deals on Vita stuff.

Fact that over here including my local Walmarts they have nothing Vita related on store shelves. You'd be lucky if you could even the handheld.

I've pretty much resigned myself to the idea that the only/first import for my Vita that I'm buying: Dariusburst: Chronicle Saviors, is also going to be my last Vita purchase. It's a shame, really...Sony's just let that gorgeous piece of hardware die on the vine. I barely play it, and still play the crap out of my PSP.

I feel your pain... I really love the Vita hardware.... I was first blown away years ago when I was at a friends house playing some Capcom Fighters. (I'm not very good btw lol)

In between a match we were having he pulls out his Vita and shows me Marvel running on it. When I saw that game running at 60fps with visuals that looked almost identical to the PS3 I knew there what the Vita could do. The OLED screen back then was so gorgeous I knew I had to have one eventually.

Now I currently own over 35 unique physical releases and I have two model ones, two slim vitas and a Vita TV (Vita TV Garbage very depressing).
Plus a ton of digital games, classic PSone and PSP games.

I try my best to buy as many physical releases as possible for the Vita and that's not that hard seeing how there are very few physical releases these days.

Luckily there is still a vast library of older PSone and PSP titles available on PSN.

Its depressing for sure knowing that there could be way more games on this little powerful handheld but it doesn't get enough support.
Its even more depressing when I compare the Vita hardware to the 3DS.... god damn Nintendo really knows how to make cheap hardware...

My only problem with upcoming Vita games is that most of the ones I'm interested in are also coming out on the PS4, so the Vita versions are kinda useless to me. It still has some decent upcoming exclusives, though. The system is clearly on its way out but I'm still pretty happy with it overall.

The issue I have with games being released for both PS4 and Vita is that most of the games don't really push PS4 hardware.

Take for example Toukiden, Akihaba Strip.... not a big difference... at least to me anyways.

I'd choose the Vita version only because its just so much easier for me to game on the go than sit down on my couch.

When I game its pretty much 5-10 minutes per session then I put the handheld on sleep mode.

That's a horrible way to live.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

lol I know... I'd rather choose to sit back for a few hours and enjoy a nice long gaming session but that only happens once in a blue moon.

Most of my gaming actually happens during my breaks at work lol.

I'm going digital all the way with my vita. I can often find deals very cheap on psn and I'm expecting sales this Christmas. I recently finished P4G on the vita and playing through Danganronpa here and there.

Same I love this system, it has some very overlooked great games on it.

Well, I can't say that I'm unhappy with the system *for what I paid*, but what I paid is nothing. Hard to be too mad about it, but knowing how great the PSP has been, yeah: I'm kind of sore about it.

Agreed there are some pretty good deals on PSN. I've maxed out all my memory cards mostly on Digital downloads. Gotta love those PSone classics and PSP games

Really? Dariusburst: Chronicle Saviors is cross platform so I'm assuming you're one of the guys who prefer portable versions and there's nothing on the Vita you're looking forward to?

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim
Ascension: Chronicle of the God Slayer
Axiom Verge
Cosmic Star Heroine
Danganronpa 3
Darkest Dungeon
Day of the Tentacle Special Edition
Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space
Muv-Luv
Oddworld: New N Tasty
Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir
Rain World
Roundabout
The Banner Saga
XCOM: Enemy Unknown Plus
Zero Escape 3

That's leaving out a lot of upcoming games I'm interested in but not quite convinced in the quality of. Let's list those too:

Bastion
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
C-Wars
Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth
God Wars
Heart Forth, Alicia
Mighty No. 9
Night Cry
Nuclear Throne
Pier Solar
Root Letter
Slain
Timespinner
VA-11 HALL-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action
Volgarr the Viking
World of Final Fantasy
Zodiac: Orcanon Odyssey

I mean anyone must want at least one of those games. Anyone who isn't busy playing Fallout 4 at least
