Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
Actually it doesn't make sense to go to them immediately because that's wasting their bullet-canceling capabilities. You need to be on the opposite side of the screen when those appear, so that you could move towards them and finish the streaming with a glorious bullet-cancel instead of a cutback.

That's what I did with Black Label, but as a kusogamer I find I get overwhelmed if I try that in 1.5.

Maybe I'll buy black label so I can complain about unfair it is on here as well.
3400 points left.
Bullet witches (need this to be 800.... quite possible)
Black label (1200)
radiant silvergun (1200... gonna hate this though..... don't like games that are purely about memorising the order to shoot enemies in so that you don't get completely screwed)
Hard corps (didn't rate it enough for a 1200 purchase..... maybe if it goes on offer in a month or two's time at 800)

To go "full-Plank" - colloquial - To experience disproportionate levels of frustration as a result of resistance to completing a task. Those who go "full-Plank" very rarely recover.
Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
You seem to be dealing with 1.5 quite well. I would highly recommend Black Label, it's considerably easier.

121M and upto stage 5 now.
Got through stage 4 excluding the boss with the loss of only one life which wasn't two bad. Chucked two lives on him which were totally unnecessary, and I haven't really had any practice on stage 5 so I just tried surviving. Got about midway I think.
Probably a bit lucky to get there. Doubt I will the next time I give it a run in score attack, but I'll have to start doing S5 in training now as well as working on S4 too.

Well, so much for being "virtually impossible"!DrTrouserPlank wrote:121M and upto stage 5 now.

Give me time; I haven't even started to vent about stage 5 yet.moozooh wrote:Well, so much for being "virtually impossible"!DrTrouserPlank wrote:121M and upto stage 5 now.

As for it being "virtually impossible"... it is!
It's just that the "virtually impossible" met the "virtually improbable" in my run to stage 5. Luck was on my side; many a run ends long before my own highscore considerations even come into play.
Aside from knowledge I still say that luck stil............. ah nevermind.

Considering the tiny player and bullet hitboxes in Mushi, it's entirely possible that you could get really lucky at times. That's not the same thing as saying the game's got "undodgeable patterns".DrTrouserPlank wrote: Aside from knowledge I still say that luck stil............. ah nevermind.

Out of curiosity - for those of you that got the 1.01 code, did it work on a non-JP gamertag? I'm noticing people reporting the Muchi Muchi Pork code is only working for JP gamertags, and I would have thought it being region free would have meant the codes should work in all regions.

+1. I love this game.
Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
Question - I just got the Platinum version of this today and I'm having trouble accessing the Xbox Live leaderbaords. I get the following message when I try to access:

Any ideas?
Any ideas?
Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
A bit more detail:
Having completed my go and pressing A through the menus I get to a point where I'm stuck in a loop. One menu has just one option (A) and the other two options (A and B). Unless I press B I can't escape the loop.
I'm guessing the message regards my Xbox Live connection (which technically is fine, BTW). I was under the impression I could access the Japanese leaderboards from here in the UK?
Also, if I try to access the Black Label DLC I'm told that there's no content available.
Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
A lot of menu systems in Japanese games ask "Do you want to ____?" with A being yes, B being no. If you answer no, it then asks "Are you sure you meant to say no?" with A again being yes (which takes you out of the menu), B being no (which loops you back to the first question). When in doubt, say no, then yes.banjoted wrote:A bit more detail:

To buy Black Label, you'll have to actually go to the marketplace rather than use the in-game link. It was really easy before the Fall 2010 dashboard update - I have no idea where you'd go to find it now.

Go online on a pc or mac, go to xbox.com, log into your xbox-live account, go searching the marketplace for "mushihimesama hutari black lavel", que the DLC in the dowload-cue, turn on your xbox and the dlc will be downloaded.
And be sure to have 1200 ms-points ready...

Thanks guys, but it's not so much about the Black Label content. It's more about the leaderboard access.

A friend has translated the message for me. It reads:
"The connection to Xbox LIVE was severed. Suspending processing the rankings."
Interestingly, I've also been kicked from Deathsmiles Score Attack a couple of times over the last few nights with messages about XBL disconnections. The thing is though, I've not had any other problems with XBL, other Xbox games or my internet connection.

Yeah, I've been kicked from Deathsmiles' score attack a few times, now. The menu option is usually greyed out immediately after.
Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
As I know banjoted personally I know he's playing Futari Platinum on a PAL 360 and the PAL Deathsmiles on a PAL 360.
Do people know if the same 'server' covers all of Cave's releases regardless of region? (To be honest, I don't know if server is the right term, but you know what I mean).
If that is the case, and people are having problems with Cave games over the past 48 hours, that might explain this (and if that is what's happening, I'll split this line of inquiry into it's own thread in 'Hardware').
Is anybody else having problems with their Futari score uploading on either a JPN or PAL/NTSC machine?

X360 leaderboards are handled by Microsoft's servers.
As for regions, there are seperate leaderboards for each region (you probably know that, though), based on the region of the game, not the Xbox running it (technically each region of the game has its own GUID) - they probably have a huge bunch of different servers all over the worlds handling everything Live related (leaderboards, achievements, online play, digital distribution)

OK - so it's not that.
Maybe banjoted is simply a buffoon
(He's a good mate - I'm only taking the piss).
EDIT: banjoted has threatened to kiss me 'with tongues' if this isn't fixed in 25 minutes. I don't want that one bit. I don't like physical contact at all. Help him (me) out.
EDIT: Time Up. You bastards! He's coming at me like a freight train.

I'm having the same issue with Deathsmiles (Pal), a few times I've had some decent scores and just randomly been sent back to the main menu with score attack and Xbox live options grayed out. Frustrating when it interrupts a decent run.banjoted wrote:A friend has translated the message for me. It reads:

Haven't played Mushi Futari in a while but never had leaderboard issues.

Still cant play the game in Score attack. Get kicked off of live after getting to the first boss.
Whats going on.

That happened to me a few times in the past, mostly with DS though. I would just stop playing score attack for a few days and try again later...Getting kicked is so frustrating especially since it won't just let you continue to play the game and save the score locally.defected78 wrote:Still cant play the game in Score attack. Im being an idiot here. What I meant to say is that this is happening in deathsmiles to me.
Are you finding its still a problem. Any chance you can test it.
I was thinking maybe i was in trouble for downloading the MMP PS content from the JP marketplace.

Check your internet connection. I had the same happen to me in Deathsmiles and I found out that my broadband box was going bad. Changed that and now it is working perfectly.defected78 wrote:Im being an idiot here. What I meant to say is that this is happening in deathsmiles to me.

As this is leaning towards a lot of Deathsmiles chat, I'd better highlight that things are getting a bit off topic.
Let's keep it as Futari-focused as possible folks!

FYI I tried Mushihimesama again tonight and all's working fine.
I actually spoke to Rising Star earlier about the disconnection problems on Deathsmiles, and also mentioned my Mushihimesama issues in case they were related. They said they's speak to Cave for me. Perhaps they've sorted it? Going to try Deathsmiles in a minute so I'll get a better idea then.
