Super clean (totally restored) and a great addition to my small collection of old-school cabs.
(burn in is not nearly as bad as it looks with the flash - )
Awesome get brother! LOVE some Ghosts 'n Goblins! What other old-school cabs do you have?
Right now I have a Crystal Castles, a Nintendo vs. Cab with Castlevania, Goonies and Golf and the G'nG. I'm working on a tentative deal for a Cloak and Dagger cab and I'm hoping to add a Donkey Kong 3 soon as well.
I've had a bunch of other cabs over the last fifteen years and have only recently decided to try and get the five or so classic games I have always wanted in my gameroom.

When you are into wacky japanese art (and game) style - it is
Think of it as a cross between Parodius and Double Dragon - a cartoonish side scrolling Beat'em up.

Just got a sweet R-Type II board in the mail today Finally got all 3 R-Type PCBs now! Someone did some sort of hack job on the ROMs...not sure if they were replaced or what but the chip ID numbers are scratched off and there's a wire soldered to one....no idea why. Works fine though!
Its normal, my R-Type II PCB is the same (wire and all). Its not uncommon for PCBs to be distributed with names/numbers of certain chips sanded off as a type of security measure. Maybe it was to throw off initial bootleggers, or competitors at the time. Cave did this on their Espgaluda and Ketsui PCBs.
Oh ok....thanks Dave! That's the first time I've ever seen it in all the years I've been buying PCBs. Still wondering what that soldered on wire is too but who cares...the PCB works and the price was right
<@scootnet> if you were a real gamer, you could jerk it to Super Metroid box art

X-mas was delivered a few days early this year .
Espgaluda is so much fun!
This is the one Cave game I love to come back and play every know and then on a whim. Not too difficult, great tunes. After you 1CC this, you need to play the PS2 Arrange version! I wish Cave would release that on PCB.
burgerkingdiamond wrote:Damn, how much was UNDER DEFEAT? I remember seeing it for Dreamcast for like $300. So I'm guessing the full Naomi kit is a fair bit more?
I don't have the full kit (no poster or box), but imagine that would run ~$450. Its a great time to buy Naomi stuff, as prices dropped quite a bit over the last year due to the state of emulation, netbooting, and CF Card reader device.
spadgy wrote:^ Sweet! I'd love to try that game one day...
Reminds me I still need to capture some footage of this PCB in action for youtube, as the emulation (last I checked) was all goofed up.

Yeah. I remember trying this in MAME with no "lust to buy", then a shmup-meet later I suddenly *needed* it. The gameplay is very manic and the rank is insane.

There may be a dip switch or a rom swap that can be done to change it to 2 player, making all characters selectable. This is the same with most 4p Konami boards of the period, and iirc, GI Joe is dip switch configurable, so this might be too (which would make life simple for ya.)
It's not so bad , usually you start right before a power up and it's old school style anyways , most older games put you back and (almost) stripped to the bone .
I love the space theme , music and overall feel of the game .
