Oh shit, this game is just too loli for me. Now I've gotta fire up Raiden DX and blast a hot plasma load all over some beefy tanks to reclaim my dignity.

edit: Crap! I just remembered! I hope those fairies are wearing panties.

Yep. With some of the recent talk of Cave taking things in "that" direction, I was slightly worried about that too, but the imagery in the game seems fine, pretty much like the original Mushi.
I stayed away from Death Smiles specifically because everytime it was mentioned it was followed by "loli goth". No thanks.

Do you have a US or Jpn. 360?
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

I guess it's the same here, sans some loading time.

When I think of it I always recall how much of an effort it is to do that in any Windows Touhou game: escape -> up -> z. That's ergonomics.
hm i find that somewhat irritating. but does this only matter when going for that achievement people were reffering to? will it still allow you to do a quick restart and not effect your score or 1CC attempt? (not sure if im understanding this fully, havent gotten my copy yet)

honestly RFA had the best quick restart option OF ALL TIME. hitting the Back button and being instantly returned to the choose ship screen is the shit. every shmup, racing, and arcade style game should have a similar feature.

I chalk that up there with people who freak out when they have to spend an extra half a second moving their mouse cursor to the scroll bar. Watch out the world might end :P

Ugh.... downward spiral.

Underage girls wearing slutty clothes has been a staple in Japanese games since.... forever. Give me a break.....

I remember when panty shots and metal bra armor (Valis on PC Engine I thank you) are what made importing Japanese games cool and special. I guess everyone is to grown up and uber sophisticated for that now.

All this Death Smiles bitching... Castlevania SOTN is the same damn thing, especially Maria.... THE OG gothic loli. The only difference now is with the internet folks come up with these gay as labels for these thing.

Having a chick in slutty gothic attire shooting or beating the snot out of monsters is AOK with me.... but folks who spend the time to come up with lame ass labels like lolita and moe then bitch about it are far less entertaining.

I like big burly steam power planes, tanks and mechs as much as the next guy but I have always enjoyed sluts kicking ass also (hello... Bayonetta). But what's wrong with big burly steam power planes, tanks and mechs piloted by hoes with guns. Hoes have feelings to.

Japan has pumped out SHIT TONS of cutsy characters in games with light hearted whimsical themes since the biggining (while listing the bust sizes in the manuals or slutastic "art" books) and I loved them for it. The big kicker is half the folks who bitch about the cutsy stuff turn around and moan and grown about this current gen being to brown, gritty and edgy looking.

The only thing worse than emo is hearing someone bitch that everything is emo.... doing just that is pretty emo actually (whining and crying over something that's not even a real issue or a big deal).

Mushi 2 and Death Smiles are no worse than some of the older games (Parodius/Devine Sealing... sorry I had to mention Devine Sealing just for the chuckle value) and not even close to being as boring as some of them. (Death Smiles i can at least fathom why folks whine... but Mushi 2, folks are really stretching it with)

I think it's true..... I mean come on... when I started importing games (especially PC engine) half the fun was seeing naughty things in the games while staying up till 3 am with you friends being shocked and giggling over it. Or reading Chun Lee's stats in the manual and getting a chuckle out of the age versus bust size (teen asian girl with huge boobs.... please). Would you really want Morrigan to wear a baggy jogging suit....? Hell no, I want to see all but her nipples revealed... what kind of succubus would she be otherwise? Think of how all the other Succubus would tease her.... heartless and tragic.

Enough hate from me.... lighten up and have fun with these ports, it wasn't that long ago that this forum was becoming a wasteland and we all feared the end was near.

My copy's in the post and will be committed, shrinkwrap and all, to a shelf when it arrives. I'm still deliberating on the when's and the how's of getting a 360, but with xmas coming I have a shit load of mince pies to purchase first! In the meantime, I don't think anyone has attempted a proper board/port comparison yet; it would be useful to hear how faithfully the intentional/unintentional [delete as applicable] slowdown has been reproduced, and generally more about how the port runs.

Bloodflowers, you seem suitably impressed. Would now be an opportune moment to offer £250 for your v.1.5 PCB, in cash, and in half an hour?

It won't affect your score or 1CC...well, at least I don't think it will, since it's not like using a continue. You just start at the beginning of the level, under the same conditions you initially started the level.

...But now I'm curious as to whether you can quick-restart and still earn any of the completion/score achievements. I'd test it myself if I hadn't already 1CC'd all the Novice modes, leaving myself devoid of easy, obvious achievements.

100% agree. Trivial matter that it is, I've been playing in Training mode more and more because I don't want to get whined at for restarting a practice run.

Gah! Why isn't this documented anywhere?! I think I've restarted a few hundred times in that comp so far, and I was totally unaware... thanks for pointing that out!

I know there's been much non-useful info in this thread, but I am anxiously awaiting a post from someone...anyone...who ordered from P-A and used their slow shipping, saying that they got the game. This is because if it doesn't get to me by tomorrow, the post office will have to hold it until I get back from vacation...and after losing a (less valuable) package last time, I don't trust 'em. =(

I don't see why not, though because it's paid DLC there might be complications. You /do/ have to have JP points to buy it, according to everyone I've asked.

HDMI capture card in a dedicated PC, HDMI splitter between console and TV so you can still play on a proper screen, captures 720P at 60fps uncompressed.

you might not need jp points to redeem the content. if you highlight black label on the menu and hit "Y", a menu pops up to purchase the dlc. on that menu it listed my american points balance and had a price of "free" for the dlc. the free will change when they add the content and the price in, but the fact that it showed my american points was interesting. i'd hold off on getting the jp points card until we know for sure.

If an item is listed, you should be able to buy it. As in, right now. Is it a mistake?

Thanks bloodflowers for taking the time to upload the clip, this is the best video of Mushihimesama Futari quality wise on youtube! :D

I was busy with lots of crap until a few days back and totally missed the Mushihimesama release date. Went to Akiba today and looked in every single shop (20+) on the area. Worked there 4 years so I know the place like the palm of my hand. Can't be 100% sure but I must have found the last LE edition left in all Akiba. The shop, Liberty 2, near the Book Off. Since the place sells pretty much second hand games, I guess most people would not even try to buy here. Got the last copy. Didn't include a phone card like the one offered at Messe Sanoh but can't complain.

But just like with DS LE happened, wait a few weeks (or days) and you'll be able to find Mushihimesama Futari LE in second hand shops for less than 7000 yen. Trader 2 was already selling the Mushihimesama Hori stick for around 8000 yen... adversity1, you might still find it if you go tomorrow

He's talking about Black Label. By clicking on the BL option in-game, it will bring up the option to purchase the DLC. At this time, they just have a non-existant place-holder there as the DLC won't be available until the end of the year. It is entirely possible that Cave are leaving the DLC "open" to purchase from any XBL region (like they have apparently done with the ver 1.01 codes). I guess we'll find out once the DLC is up.
