Yeah I'm listening to that new Radiohead too. The "you choose the price!" thing is funny. I paid 0. I've bought all the Radiohead LP's with the exception of Pablo Honey so I'm not gonna pay for some 160 kbps mp3s. Plus the Hail to the Thief "Special Edition" was bullshit, I should have got the hard case.

Kinda like the new Radiohead. Definitely better than Hail to the Thief imo.

I recently bought and have listening quite a bit to Asobi Seksu's self titled album. It isn't near as strong as their second release but its worth picking up if you loved Citrus (which I do  .)

Lost Sounds - Black-Wave
The Mummies - Death By Unga Bunga!! (Had to bust this one out to hear "...Planet of the Apes". 'Sup Pa. :) )
Hot Snakes - Audit in Progress
Napalm Death - Harmony Corruption

And the Award for being The Lame-est Asshole in Austin goes to...me! I slept on the Melvins, Boris, and Qui this week, instead opting to explore large swaths of the Shivering Isles while drinking heroic quantities of vodka. I suck! Whoooo!!

Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come
Van Der Graaf Generator's World Record (seemingly a fan dis-favorite, but I think it's great!)

and continuing on the same general trend...
Peter Hammill's 'A Black Box'

Khanate - Capture and Release

Khanate is the most terrifying band to listen to while tripping and therefore the best band to listen to while tripping. Well. second best. Nightstick still reigns.

So far I have enjoyed all the VDGG I've heard, and Pawn Hearts is nicely chaotic, though I've found myself really digging the duo of Godbluff/World Record which is strange since Still Life is the album after Godbluff and a fan favorite (I find it sort of uninspired, but probably haven't given it enough time.)

To be honest though, I think all of their albums deserve some mention--as much as I feel like singling H to He out for instance, all the others deserve mention too. World Record and Godbluff are just very accessible to me right now.

It is weird for me coming back to these albums (I heard and owned many of them back in the mid-90's and an coming back to them again just now.)

And once again; those peter hammill solo albums--wow!

Mostly listening to three new releases:

love of diagrams - mosiac
ahleuchatistas - even in the midst...
radiohead - in rainbows

Love the first two hugely. The latter is carefully crafted and better than expected; still, the singing style is tiresome and I get bored by drum-machine sounding drums pretty quickly.

At first I dismissed All I Need, but now I think it's one of the best on the album. I also like Weird Fishes and the two opening tracks. And even the ones I don't like as much are ok. It's not OK Computer, but pretty solid for a band I'd nearly given up on.

Juxtaposition of the year. The latter is not advised for a Saturday afternoon with the kids.
