Hey at least they didn't split up all the visual filters and wallpapers to 20pt downloads, and add in the maniac screen configuration as a 100pt download....etc!

I agree. It's kind of shitty some people didn't get their preorder bonus, but there really is nothing to bitch about with this port. Maybe an experienced player will find problems, and I can only speak as someone who probably would never have had a chance to play this game without a port, but it plays swimmingly, looks great, has a ton of content and game to play even. Had Play Asia not fucked up their preorders, I doubt there'd be many issues with this port.
Feedback will set you free.

Has anyone found an option to remove the playfield-obscuring HUD elements (player score, hi-score, active mode name, boss life bar) off the top of the screen onto the wallpaper sidebar? I played around with the maniac & extra subscreen options but couldn't find this, only found options to copy the HUD elements to the wallpaper, but that doesn't actually unclutter the main screen. If that's not included then that's an unfortunate oversight in an otherwise really nice conversion...

I got pink stickers on both my LE and SE version. :D

Did anyone else notice the packaging on Mushi is slightly taller than Death Smiles LE packaging?

Pretty much luck then. I have a Falcon and it's been working flawlessly for two years.

I dunno if anybody knows this but...

the people who didn't get DLC cards: I know it didn't matter when you preordered it, but does the date of shipping have any effect on whether or not you got it? Because I think even if people preordered it really early they might not have gotten it shipped later, and thusly if PA just used up the 1st shipment for the first ones they SENT out rather than the first ones who PREORDERED then maybe that's what's causing this.

If that makes sense. It was hard to word.

I think it's pretty safe to say that you either
A) get it
or
B) not.

Simple as that.

It would ease my mind as to whether my incoming shipment which I have not received will contain a DLC card.

Much like funerals are important for easing the minds of the people who attend them even though they can't change that their child/friend/parent is dead.

But lets not argue this. It is a truly bad argument to fill up 8 or so posts with.

my first jasper died on me like two weeks after I bought it. I only put in like a little over an hour into the system too then I got the E74 error.

the thing i've noticed with 360's is the longer you leave them off, the more chance the next time you turn it on there will be a problem (talking like several weeks to months). this might just be superstition though..

Almost 1ccd Arrange Ultra mode today, ended up dying on the last form of larsa right before I had fever mode ready which I would have stretched out to survive as long as possible. A bullet spawned on me right after my bomb :? Playing Arrange Ultra three times in a row until larsa was rather.. nauseating. TBH I think I have more trouble surviving well on stage 3 than stage 4 or 5 main level parts, the last two levels have so many bullets you can just keep going in fever mode. I sort of got bored of the mode for now because the constant bullet cancelling messing around + long stages get repetitive. I guess I'll like it more when I start playing for score properly.

Well, there might be something in this - my wifes X360 is the most used X360 i know. out of a whole ton of people i know with X360s she's one of only 3 people who haven't had any RROD issues.

Nope.
It's caused by heat issues that stress the material.
So leaving it off for a long time won't change anything.

Got my copy and 1cc'd novice original with 5 lives and 3 bombs lol, did simularly in novice maniac but with only 4 lives. I didn't die, but i guess I didn't get all the 1ups.

Its kinda nice to get those out of the way so I can move on to the other modes, the game looks like a gem! The background are still low res, but you can only tell at the begining of stages before projectiles are fired. After that your not paying attention to the background.

Kinda wish that it didnt reset you rotation settings when you switched back to simple screen options. But its really not a biggie.

Yeah, I thought that I could store different settings for "Arcade" and "360" mode, but alas, no.

btw, this may be random, but the game only had 29 ratings in the xbox marketplace. It looks like its averaging about a 5. I don't typically look at that, or rate games but I took a minute to rate it after it installed to the HD.

So if you have inet with your xbox go ahead and rate it :)

QFT. The on/off cycle of heating/cooling can effect it, but the duration of off time is irrelevant (assuming it is allowed to cool to room temp. each time).

I do not understand the weird sexual thing with this game. I've only watched vids on YouTube and haven't seen anything tasteless, but I just keep reading things about loli, panties, etc.

I'd have to agree, it's getting a bit silly how many times the same questions have been asked.

I thought it was already dumb when all the people that joined shmups just to post about this game and in this thread were giving hourly shipping updates as to the whereabouts of their package.
Just curious, but are you JAPJAC's only remaining friend, or does he have others?

One reason this thread has the same question over and over again is that the OP isn't updated with information on the game.

Yep. With some of the recent talk of Cave taking things in "that" direction, I was slightly worried about that too, but the imagery in the game seems fine, pretty much like the original Mushi.

moozooh wrote:Unfortunately, the way things are going now, it works exactly like that: you are buying a license to play a game, but not buying the actual game or any of its contents (both are still the property of its publisher, and you can't do anything else with them that you aren't explicitly allowed to);
This is false and / or misleading, at least in the US. Courts have been perfectly willing to view software sales as a sale of a copy, not a license; see e.g. the recent Autodesk case. When it comes to xbox360 games, there's not even a pretense of assent to a license the way there is with clickwrap or shrinkwrap agreements. The things preventing you from doing what you may want to with the copy you own (reverse engineering the unlockable content) have more to do with the DMCA than with traditional copyright law (yes, I am an attorney; no, this is not legal advice; consult your attorney about your specific situation before taking any action).

As for the game itself, it's a great port. Any of the issues people are griping about are inconsequential by comparison with everything else we've gotten (or more to the point, haven't gotten) since espgaluda. Hopefully they give DDPDFK comparable treatment.

I stayed away from Death Smiles specifically because everytime it was mentioned it was followed by "loli goth". No thanks.

That's a shame, it's really not offensive.
