The more I play this game, the more I love it.

You know, I was thinking, maybe Futari, Galuda II, and DS are kind of a trilogy...you know, since they all have the same explosions. :P

It's called recycling the same explosions because the developers are too lazy and can't be arsed to draw new explosion sprites.

The "too lazy to draw trilogy". I like the sound of that.

I really hope Ketsui is as good as everyone says because if it's as good as Futari and ESP2 then my boner will extend over six counties

It's a good game, but I think it's elusiveness has built up it's rep a bit too much. It's never been my fav of all time, but I definitely think it's a cut above most shmups.

These were my thoughts exactly...
until i played it again, that is.
This is a game for the ages!
I took a break for several months, played it one time again, and i were instantly addicted again.
Took me some time to realize but hands down its the best shooter ever made (obviously IMO, derp).

Did a creditfeed clear so I could see the entire game in order to review it.

I have no idea how I'm gonna beat this thing.

I can get to the boss of level 4, but I can't even imagine playing levels 5 and 6.

I made it to the boss of level 5, but I am not sure if I will ever be able to beat Sersei.

Yet you're somehow qualified to review it?

Honestly, I think that's enough considering the audience. Shmup fans are going to scoff at it, but they already bought the game anyway... when you're writing for the mainstream, it's probably more important to consider whether it's a satisfying game to credit feed through, since that's what pretty much everyone who imports the game is gonna do anyway. Then again, that may just be my bias as an occasional 1up contributor coming out.

I'm playing the game with 1 credit myself, though, so please don't crucify me.

the hell does that even mean

I play for score, I'm just not good enough to beat the game. Big deal. I understand enough of the game mechanics to give it a much more fair review than any typical review site would give it.

Also I'm reviewing it for a blog so who gives a shit.

ED: And who says I'm reviewing for the mainsteam? You shoot-em-up fans can be so fucking silly.

I'm bad at this game, I mean really bad - have put a good 10 credits in the game and haven't passed stage 3 yet. Also, I seem to die at random shit... is it just me
, or is this one way harder than galuda 1? Sure feels like it.

And ZOM, it's just you. I 1cc'd this shit on my third playthrough, but that might be because Touhou improved my bullet-dodging skills to MATRIX LEVEL SHIT.

The learning curve on this one is pretty steep. The first few times it's confusing as hell, then once you start to get it, you make it hard as hell all in the name of scoring.

It's way harder, Espgaluda1 is a cake walk by comparison. It's just one or two steps down from the like's DOJ.

Do most people consider this to be the best looking Cave shmup or has Daikfutsu taken the honor?

I think Futari looks a little better. A lot of the enemy designs in this are a tad lackluster to me, and I factor that in with the graphics.

Exactly what it says?

I understand that most mainstream readers don't give a shit... that doesn't mean that someone that reviews the game should rush through it. I'm not dissing you as a player, but I think there's enough reviews out there of games where people have either no clue what the genre/game is like, or at best are roughly familiar with it. I just don't feel the game could be completely appreciated if the last 2 stages are credit fed. Sue me.
