Can't make it today -- it's my gf's birthday so shmups have been superceded by LittleBigPlanet 2. I've been getting the hang of Progear this week, though. You haven't seen the last of me!

Hope everybody can make it out.

Forgot to mention for the last one, I got Razing Storm/Time Crisis 4/Dead Storm Pirates with a guncon 3 for PS3, so that's a go on the big screen. Razing Storm is bad ass!! 8)

I'm going to try to make it out to the next one. Supposed to meet a chick for lunch in Etobicoke that day so I'll pop by after. The light gun games intrigue me muchly.

bring whatever PCB's you want. Console stuff tends to get ignored(other than cave 360 ports) so unless its something you think might be of interest I would just stick with the PCB's.

I will PM you directions and my cell number now. :)

It sure is. It's essentially the exact same basic game with tons of extra tools for content creators. The floaty physics bother me a lot as they make it next to impossible to create anything that feels like an arcade game, but I understand that LBP is not for people like me... it's for people like my gf who get frustrated by challenging action games and just want to play around in a colourful world as a character they can dress up a million different ways. I wonder if the new content creation tools let people tweak that sort of thing, though -- I'm sure there are levels out there online that would be enjoyably challenging, I'm just not interested enough to spend much time looking for them. I've seen videos of attempts at fighting games, shmups, top-down beat-em-ups, you name it... but haven't spent much time playing online yet.

I should be able to make it this Saturday. Have been playing StarCraft 2 more than shmupping (btw I'm absolutely terrible at SC2), but I at least figured out how the scoring works in Progear from the threads in the strategy forum.

At least there's always Lost Viking to return to when the Zerg are done kicking your ass. :)

It's funny you guys brought up LBP2; my g/f asked me to get the demo for her after she saw a preview or something, which is weird because she has next to no interest in video games. I might have to get it for her.

Definitely worth a look. Still not sure when i'll be arriving, but that place sounds like they're worth hitting up, if for no reason other than the Tri-Wing screw driver I need.

Wasn't too bad till I got near Hamilton....then was crap from there to Brantford...and fine from Brantford to home....over 2 hours to get home easy though....bleah. And when I got home....we got hit pretty hard....must be a good 5+ inches in my driveway! Guess what I'm doing tomorrow! *sigh*

Same here. A shoveling I go. Was just shallow enough i could force the car through it.

Also I did some digging on Tank Force and here's the story. In 1980 Namco release Tank Battalion. Five years later they ported that game to the Famicom and the NES as Battle City. In 1991 they release Tank Force a sequel to Battle City. Apparently it's available on the JP Virtual Console.

Thanks to everybody for coming out and huge thanks to maxlords for making the trip in and bringing all the PCB's!! This was definitely the best meet in a while!

Also huge thanks to maxlords for letting me borrow Dogyuun; I'm almost ashamed I had never played it before.

Glad everybody made it home OK.

Lets do it all again in 2 weeks. :)
