Udderdude, reporting some bugs regarding getting screenshots of your game. Inbuilt screenshot function works fine but when TATEd it only takes a certain part of the screen.

Using Windows' own screenshot function gets output like this when fullscreen:

Cool!

Any chance you could add a screenshot mode that captures the entire window instead of just the ingame screen or is that not possible? I found these errors to begin with because I wanted to show a friend via screenshot what the entire window looked like in TATE mode.

The fix I just did does just that. It now captures the entire screen. If it's TATE mode, it won't rotate the screen for you, though.

So despite being in TATE mode the ingame screen will appear as normal eh? Oh well, can't expect too much. I've been trying to get TATE screenshots working properly in GMOSSE with no success either funnily enough.

Just to prove I'm better than Gamemaker, I went back and added rotation to tate screenshots. So there :X

Edit: Now that I noticed it, the scanlines are fucked up, too .. fuck. Guess I'd better fix that too.

And just for the hell of it, I changed it so you can set scanlines to horizontal or vertical.

Nope, that's definitely XOP Black there (unless the original XOP which I haven't played had the same Stage 1 midboss) and I do believe there's mention of Christopher Emiziran there in bold (sorry if I spelt it wrong, I was going by the video).

Nice work Udd. Now get that Korean bootleg PCB port of XOP Black going and you'll have accomodated for absolutely everyone. :P

Just wanted to say that I finally got a chance to sit down and try these out, both are fantastic games. Cannot wait for Ultra. Your hard work is much appreciated.

Awesome new release, udderdude! The game is awesome for not only the modes but also the game styles:

massacre - much like Dodonpachi
cancel - espgaluda-like canceling
rank - Battle Garegga-insipred rankbase

then there's the usual original and maniac styles. wow! :D :D :D

I like it!!

but, this new version certainly stutters, hiccups, and farts a lot more than previous versions. Specifically about 5 seconds into the 1st level bosses attack and then again about 10 seconds into level two. I usually eat a bullet in both of those sections because of it. :?

My system:
Pentium IV 2.6ghz
Windows XP SP III
1GB RAM
256mb ATI Radeon 9700

Anyone else seeing this?

Any suggestions?

Which was the previous version you're talking about? How far back was it?

Does this frame dropping happen consistently?

Could just be your PC acting up, it happens ..

errr.. which version.. hmm.. I overwrote the previous version I had with this new one. It was the version that you had just put the intro animations in, I believe. It's quite possibly my computer, but yours was the first game I played after a fresh reboot. Usually I play XOP after a few rounds of other games - not sure that has anything to do with anything, though.. :? I'll do some more testing tomorrow morning when I'm not so completely wiped.. :(

If you can get the skipping to occur consistently it may be an issue, otherwise it's probably just some Windows process hogging the CPU temporarily (Pentium 4 is just single core and your version of the CPU does not have Hyperthreading)

Good stuff. Can you perhaps add an option to black out the sidegraphics during the gameplay? I find them more distracting than anything.

Very cool! Will be downloaded and tested (or played extensively?) as soon as I've bought a new laptop. The death of my last one was one of the reasons why I could barely play the test version and give feedback, sorry.

Thanks for the amount of work you put in! I know I was against a new revision some time ago, but what I've played from the test version was genuinely awesome.

I was against new weekly revisions too, but this is a whole new game. And an awesome one I should add. Next generation XOP, here we go.

Actually I could've sworn playing XOP Black Ultra once made the controls move me in a direction when I wasn't doing pressing that direction, much like Raiden Fighters in MAME when it doesn't have full speed. Never noticed it since, besides I'm also having some trouble with updating my graphics drivers so it may be something on my end.
