It's on tonight at 2am in the UK. It will be the half way point of the season...

I would prefer a more down to earth episode this week. That stuff with the giant and the fat chick left me cold. I don't like where this is all going with regards to the Laura murder etc.

My prediction is we will only get one more episode like last weeks, if at all. Expecting more down to Earth but I will take either way... enjoying it all.

I finally started the new season (still need to get the family together for FWWM - what a wholesome night). I watched the first new episode with them, which left them feeling cold after the tense S2 finale (I didn't want to jump right in but they were impatient), but episodes 2 and 3 were really something. Really engrossing and engaging stuff. I know that slow weird moments are coming my way, but if the other episodes are up to this caliber hopefully we can all have a good time.

My older brother wasn't a fan of episode 8, which he described to me as "ten minutes of fast-moving plot book-ended by nothing happening for 40 minutes." I guess I'll have to see, won't I?

If Lynch has any balls at all he will continue to alienate everyone who loved the soap-opera elements of what the series used to be. Not only should he do that, but he should also focus entirely on what it is he wants the series to be, and not about anyone elses preconceptions. And long may this form of expression continue. Where citizens are not spoon fed linear information that fits into a tidy little box of conclusions.

Give over. I'm all for an artist doing exactly what they want, that doesn't mean I'm blindly going to like it. It's getting to the point where you can't have an opinion of an artist without being categorised as a "citizen that needs to be spoon fed information that fits into a tidy little box of conclusions". Well duh.

There is plenty of "traditional" Twin Peaks in this season as last nights episode showed.

Anyhow, another strong episode. Loads of great stuff. Bill Hastings, "I am not your foot", Ben Horne doing the right thing (?).

Pretty sure that's what he's doing.

Indeed... Tim Roth... :)
I'd be remiss if I did not say that I noticed a missed opportunity. Arguably the classiest chick in the show (maybe hottest) is named Tammy, and the most trailer one (Jennifer Jason Leigh) is not. She's a Tammy if I ever saw one.

Oh, and of course Hasting's findings of The Zone are available on a well-designed website.

Pretty good. What Hastings is saying is true (well, I'm pretty sure it's true at this point and I'd have thought the FBI would also know something). It's tricky to work out exactly what they do know after episode 9. I guess they're pretty much in the dark with specifics. Didn't Albert call Hastings a fruitcake?

That's what I thought -- Johnny Horne. Audrey's brother with special needs.

That's pretty much what I got from the episode too.

Some people will want to burn me - but I've never bee a huge fan of the character Laura. :? I think it's silly that they're setting her up as a counter force to Bob so late in the game.

I'm having a hard time seeing Laura as a persona from the 'good' side with all the things we know about her. Even if it's mostly Bob's fault that she became a trashy slut, she seemed to have been successfully 'turned' by Bob, whatever her presence in the ever-ambiguous Black Lodge after her death means.

Also; Diane you bitch!

I don't recall Laura Palmer ever purposefully hurting anyone, other than herself. And she spent as much time doing good works as she did anything else.

Possible exceptions:
Convincing Bobby to sell coke at school so she could have some too. She probably did 99% of it though.

Did she lure girls to the perfume counter? Don't think so but she didn't try and save them either.

Game of Thrones season 7 has taken the 2am slot on Sky Atlantic here in the UK. That means Twin Peaks is now on at 3:10am! The Monday repeat has also been taken by GoT so it's now on Tuesday at 9 instead.

The gf and I may stay up for GoT anyhow, so I'm going to try and make it for Twin Peaks as well. Jeez.

It wasn't a particular dig at you, just my general disdain for anything that gravitates towards the banal and predictable. There's plenty of that stuff already on TV, we could do with more interesting, divergent (obtuse even) material like this.

Apparently! I was under the impression it was going to be a two week wait for every episode from here on out. Looks like I was wrong though.

Crisis averted..

Saw episode 9 tonight because I was away for a week. Loved the metal tube, the dead couple in a pile outside the country house where Tim Roth's character hung out and the mystery text from Mr. C to Diane. Was her upset scene at the prison a ruse? Why does Mr. C want the warded dead so bad, does he know all too much? Those chicks in the booth at the Roadhouse were annoying as hell, but the rash was deliciously unsettling. Also, 2500 dollars for a tail light? Also, the scene with the american flag, Cooper and Janey-E was amazing. Those people really are amazing actors.

Good episode. Feels like we are in a bit of a holding pattern (again). Great opening with Richard Horne, plus the scene with his grandmother. We got Harry Dean singing, some snot hanging off that ginger guy, Nadine's Run Silent Run Drapes, Albert having a romantic dinner and Moby on guitar. I liked the two gangsters - the Mitchums? Pretty good together.

Cooper isn't going to be Cooper until the last episode is he. This is what season 3 is about and it only really hit home now. If he were to wake up in the next episode what would he do?

Imagine this season exactly the same but rather than a mumbling Dougie we had good Coop getting out of the lodge and hunting down evil Coop...

Agreed on all counts. The Mitchums shined this episode, especially when they sent Candy to fetch the insurance guy and it took an eternity, as they watched on the eye in the sky.

The musical number was especially good. Some things pointed out in /r/twinpeaks
-Rebekah Del Rio's dress is the same pattern as the floor in The Waiting Room.
-The first line of the song is, "I want to go back where it all began."
Mullholland Drive Spoiler
-She also performed in Mullholland Drive as herself... immediately after which, the story gets turned completely on it's head
Cooper isn't going to be Cooper until the last episode is he. This is what season 3 is about and it only really hit home now. If he were to wake up in the next episode what would he do?
I still think we have a ways to go with Dougie. I mean, the guy just got laid for the first time. There's not much Coop can do as himself outside of the lodge, I'm thinking. There's only so many characters he can interact with if he's chasing an evil version of himself. Unfortunately, most of them have passed away.

I got major goosebumps when Gordon opened the door to Albert and the doorway was filled with Laura. Richard is absolutely horrible. I agree on the casino guys, they really are great together.
