So there's a demo for Panzer Dragoon Zwei: Remake which I haven't played, but the feedback is... eh, you know what it is. It's times like these I actively feel bad for 'community managers' or whatever
"This is straight AI slop LOL. Sega should take their source code back at gunpoint. Someone should go to your house and murder you"
"Thanks for the feedback. We're working hard to make the game as good as we can!"
(ps I will never stop being amused at the belief of this mystical, magical "source code" that you can just copy/paste into a completely different computer made 30 years in the future, and instantly have the game be playable on it. See also: "Border Down will never be ported because g.rev lost the source code")

Companies: Ohhh we want to port it so bad, so bad you guy, but golly we lost the source code!
Fans: *Reverse-engineer it to run better than the original, in a cave, with a box of scraps*
There was a time I would have said Zwei was in the genre's top five, but I replayed it last year and... I think littler me was a bit dazzled by its graphics. While it's still a good game, it doesn't bring the heat. Even OG Star Fox has more exciting scenarios.

There was a lot of grumbling about the PD and HotD remakes, but I was lead to believe that they turned out very faithful to the originals beneath the aesthetics and optional features (and the control limitations for HotD). I'm no authority though.m.sniffles.esq wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2026 2:52 pm So there's a demo for Panzer Dragoon Zwei: Remake which I haven't played, but the feedback is... eh, you know what it is.
