EmperorIng - R-Type II - Stage 2 - 693,000

What an unlucky roll. Just plain unfair. :(

I think "standard" is more like it. The time travel gimmick is painted over a competent shooter, though one wishes the different eras would have been a bit more adventurous in layout (the WW2 stage was 19xx-like, but everything else was pure Taito-esque). Still I like the game and usually play as Type-B.

Just rolled this a couple days ago and died just as quickly. You just can't tackle this game blind.

My last three games have basically been those with which I've had minimal-or-no experience in. Sorta sucks.

ACSeraph - Thunderforce VI - J/F - Stage 2 - 1,827,500

I would have used a credit if only I didn't have to go to bed. I really need to learn some Thunderforce games.

ACSeraph - G-Darius - Alpha-up/Beta-up - Stage 2 Boss - 2,934,790

Ahhh the one Darius game I don't know how to play. I don't know why but this game just doesn't speak to me like the others do. The main shot feels way too weak compared to the other games for one thing. Just gotta learn it I guess, my opinion might change when I improve a bit.

Eno has reached 3R and picks which game we all get to torture ourselves with.

ACSeraph - Chaos Field (Gamecube) - Ifumi - Stage 1 Boss - ?

Forgot to check my score. This is the first time I've played this since probably 2k8. I have no idea how to play it at all. Is this a well regarded game? It doesn't seem very good compared to Radirgy...

Oh boy. I was actually thinking of making everybody experience the horrors of my childhood by playing Strike Gunner S.T.G., but I myself don't want to go back there. So we Soldier Blade Hard mode now.

Gonna play my credit when I have some time later.

Fine choice Eno, here's my score:

soprano1 - Soldier Blade - Stage 1 - 13900

Lot's of bullets in Hard, damn. That score could be much better, methinks.

I'm late to this great idea. Just to clarify, once you've picked your random game, you play just one credit, and submit your score from that credit (unless, of course, you've earned extra credits)?

I say Random game, but I see people are leo choosing what others play?

Also, earning a credit... that comes from each time you play a credit as part of the quickening?

This is a pretty neat game! I like the idea of using your powerups as bombs, kind of like Metal Black but in a more controlled manner.

Eno - Soldier Blade - Stage 2 - 389,300

Completely messed up and lost all extends in the first bossfight, on good days I usually reach stage 3.

I know, right! It's one of the few alternatives to a "pure" bomb system I enjoy. Also, didn't you cut the leading digit of your score out?
soprano1 wrote:Lot's of bullets in Hard, damn.
That's why I love it. Livens up some of the most boring sections and forces aggressive use of the weapon pods.

Yes, that's about it.

Captain will put challenges up and the first to complete it forces everybody else to play a game. ACSeraph hoarded 5 credits and everybody played Darius Gaiden(no auto), I hoarded 3 rerolls and now everybody has to play Soldier Blade(on hard). Doesn't seem like the next challenge is up yet.

From what I've got you only gain one credit when you publish a score for a game you rolled, and only if you don't rage. More or less like the first time you play a game doesn't cost a credit, all the subsequent tries cost one credit each and then you receive one credit when you post the result of your play(s).
May the Captain(or somebody) correct me if I said anything wrong.

I didn't cut anything out of my score, I guess I must have mistaken a miniboss for a boss since I didn't miss many enemies until I started dying. I'll edit the post to reflect this.

Unfortunately I made a mistake, playing on Normal initially. It allowed me to breeze on up to the last boss on my first try.

By the time I realized my error and booted up hard, I was too burnt out on the previous 35 minutes of boring (no dodging till stage 5? Sign me up!) to properly adjust.

EmperorIng - Soldier Blade - Stage 1 - 83,900
or something like that.

Soldier Blade (Hard)

Rage

Did not enjoy, way too hard for me. massive amounts of suicide bullets and oldschool hitbox didn't work out playing on my tiny ass PSP screen.
