Any news on the OST? I've been loving the first one, and I'm looking forward to bumping to the next.

It is running on Cave hardware. It is a jamma pcb on the same hardware as Mushi, Ibara and the Mushi puzzle game.

I've not heard of it being released... that's what I'm woried about. Those arcade release dates aren't cast in stone, unfortunately.

Ah, such an awesome game. I think people who like Espgaluda is really in for a treat. I finally managed to 1cc Galuda the day before the sequal hit the arcades here and can concentrate on II now. Played 7-8 credits today and I love it so far. Dunno if I'm just getting good at shooters or if the game is easy.. I already reached stage 5 and although I don't know how many stages there are I'm guessing 5 with maybe 5-2 in the end "as usual", hehe.

That's good to hear, Zayon. The version at the AM Show and (from what I hear) the version at the location tests were hard as balls. O_o

SuperPang: I don't know how else they would've packaged the posters. It's not like their going to take their time and put them in a nice round container... but it still hurts to hear. That's the only poster I've ever gotten excited for.

I got Joey to send my Ibara poster in a tube so asked the same here but....

"I am sorry to inform you that our supplier folded the poster and put inside the box, but the poster is OK. I already remind our supplier don't fold it, but he forgot."

Just bad luck I guess. If it's the 2m beast it won't look half as good hung. I'll just have to hope for a flood of em on YJP. As if!

Weird, your gold count goes down when you're in that crazy nonstop bullet appearing kakusei mode. End of stage bonuses as well. I wonder if they'll even be worth anything.

It looks like fun :(

Thanks for the tip on the higher quality stage 1 replay. Observations, thoughts and stuff:
  • Stage 1 music sounds great, like a remixed/remodelled stage one from the first Espgaluda. Really like it ^_-
  • Ditto the boss music (like this one more than the original Galuda's boss track).
  • Liked the little meeting of Asagi (chased by three flying enemies), Ageha and Tateha. And Ageha bitchslapping the three flying enemies in classic Guard Barrier fashion ^_^
  • Game looks higher scoring to me, with more bullets generated in regular Kakusei mode, and it would appear to be quicker to reach 1000 Gold...
  • ... which also leads me to believe that the Gold is only required to fuel scoring in Kakusei Zesshikai (Kakusei Overdrive?) mode...
  • ... and that chains in both Kakusei modes are shorter and faster than they were in the first Espgaluda...
In any rate, I'd love to be able to give Tateha a spin in this. When the PCB price drops. Or a port is released -_-

Well, I"m an Ageha man for now. Tateha so far is too slow for me, as there's a lot more bullets, and I'm used to the faster person in Cave games. Anyways, there are end-stage bonuses. They're based on the max number of gems/gold you had for the current life you're on. If you die on the boss, your bonus is whatever you end the stage with --- very likely, nothing.

Kakusei Zesshikai (or Zetsushikai...not sure) is kind of a bitch. I've not fiured it out quite yet. Everytime I do it, I have less gold than when I started. O_o

EDIT: Yes, much higher scoring. I got 10 mil on stage 3 my first try.

EDIT 2: Shit, the zesshikai mode isn't all that it's cracked up to be. First, there's a lag before the bullets go into "arrange" mode, so the more gold you sacrifice, the higher the score. BUT, you don't keep the Gold from this mode. :( I think it's something to keep you busy when you hit 1,000 Gold.

I think it's similar to Ketsui in that you fill your gold meter, then get to the big baddies and use that super kakusei mode to get insane points, and then fill your gold up again with the smaller enemies. Well sort of maybe similar.

Scores seem to be like 10-20 times bigger since the first number of your score is also used in this game and I see scores of 80 million or so in those videos. Well, I assume they use the first digit of your score now so they can keep the scores smaller and out of the billions.

Boss music is totally lame.

Well, the end-stage bonus isn't exactly the max number. Maybe it's the number you made on that stage, minus the number you started with on the current character. I finished stage 2 w/ 500+ and only got credit for 200+. Confusing. :(

I'm starting to get the hang of the crazy mode now.... just figuring out when to use it. Also, the first stage is tricky. I would've never known how to get 1000 gold had I not watched the video. That enemy that spits out the bullets in kakusei mode, you have to shoot once until there's a tiny explosion. If not, his pattern is much lighter, which means much less gold.

Stage 3 is where you start touching yourself. :)

One other thing I just noticed. Is it correct that the Laser no longer pierces the enemy like it did in the first Galuda? (Being that part of the Laser was a straight impact beam, while another part pierced and passed through the enemy on impact.)

Icarus: Not sure.... I've not noticed to omany subleties yet.

Valgar: That mode is called Kakuse Zesshikai (or Zetsushikai), whereas the original one is Kakusei Shikai. Zetsu is a root for "extreme", you could say. Basically the way it works, is your gem counter counts down rapidly, and your gold counter counts down like your gem counter in normal Kakusei mode (or something like that). Anyways, you don't get the gold in this mode (or you'd hit 1000 in no time) but the multiplier can go up to 500. The bad thing is, that bullets will start coming out of nowhere, namely from the middle of the screen. You always have to move in this mode, and unless you finish the mode on the last piece of life of the boss, you'll always come out of this mode dodging those bullets in the middle. If you've still got enemies firing bullets on the screen, you could be fucked.

From what I can tell, the object is to jack up your gold to 700-1000, then use the new kakusei mode to get a lot of points. It also seems smart to use this mode on each boss, since it's easier to get gold.

The first stage, you see how you can get your gold up high really easily. Shoot that certain enemy until it shoots it's 2nd pattern. Go to kakusei, and bam -- a few hundred gold. I've not figured out a way to do this on stage 2, so my score there sucks. Stage 3 is once again, scoring heaven.

When I get my work done today I'll visit 2ch and see what's happening. Probably lot sof info there.

As for the difficulty, it's definitely harder than ESPGaluda, but it's no DOJ.

ESPGaluda II kit is part of this breakfast:
http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~japangaming ... sp2kit.jpg

Other things I've noticed:
-When you die, depending on how many lives you have, the line they say changes.
-The first stage boss (not sure of his name) says something different to Asagi, and maybe even Tateha.

From what I can see, the bullets all originate from the same points from the enemies that fired them, so if you destroyed a turret in Kakusei Zeshik... Zessuh... Overdrive Mode, then the point on the screen where the tip of the turret would have been will continue to generate bullets. This would also tie in with that other thing I noticed, that Overdrive Mode makes the screen scroll even slower than it does in regular Kakusei Mode. (Looks like the Galudas have learned some new time-warping tricks while they've been away.)

These bullets seem to be aimed at you when they generate as well. You could theoretically destroy a large enemy stationed on the side or top corners of the screen in Kakusei Overdrive and have it generate bullets safely down the screen.

From what I can tell, bullets are cancelled at regular moments after destroying an enemy in Kakusei Overdrive, maybe when you deplete certain amounts from Seireiseki or Gold counts. Timing when you come out of Overdrive is also important to survival, don't want to be exiting right into a mass of generated bullets.

You'd have to confirm all my speculation, GaijinPunch, since I'm not Japanese literate (no 2ch for me) and I don't have the PCB ^_-

Buy the PCB!! :)

What you've said is pretty much right. I'm just not sure on "where" those bullets are generated. You're killing so much shit it's hard to tell what dies, etc. They may come from the point of the first thing you kill in that mode... not sure. Have to play more. They do, in fact, cancel (or become points I should say) when you destroy any enemy. It's just coming out of the mode that can be tricky. Of course, you can come out of the mode with a big ass enemy on the screen, which will result in a bullet cancel when you kill him.

On top of everything else, there IS a kakusei overmode, like in the original, but I couldn't dream of a good spot to use it in.

Yes, comes with everything below, and the poster. If you bought it from Excellent, it's folded though. :(

Anyone willing to donate a PCB to me so I can do some experimentation for the purposes of strategic documentation? ^_-

During the first boss, maybe? Imagine the points you would be raking in by stage 3 if you were in maximum Overmode, maximum Seireiseki and Gold, and took down that midstage boss in Overdrive. 0_0;;

(Just watched that pack of stage 3 clips from Hameko. Nice to see my Tateha in action, although she really doesn't sound happy when she gets hit -_-;; The music really kicks ass. I really want an OST now ^_^)

I don't think that's the spot you use it... if you do, you piss away your chance to go into Zesshikai mode, which is a good amount of points. You can get the counter up to 350 easily, and you should have 700 or so gold. That's a few million points, at least.

Spoilers:

The 3rd stage boss I just love. She's holding the (dead) 1st boss, and you can hear her crying, at which point she tries to kick the shit out of you.

Much bigger spoiler

Seseri appears in stage 5. Haven't seen it yet, but read about it.
