I have this REALLY strange feeling that Abnormal Palm is a little stronger on the X360 port than on the PCB. I don't remember killing stuff this fast when I had the PCB. Then again, it's about several months since I've touched the PCB and I was able to 1CC 1.5 Original in the most half-assed way possible on my very first run upon booting up the game.

Also, this has been annoying me for so long now and I can't unhear it. I swear, I think Palm is calling out my name at the beginning of the Stage 4 boss or something. fffffffffffffffffff-

Oh, and my gamertag = my username.
You know whats funny is I received my stick today but I still haven't received my game. Stupid US mail system. Gonna go over to a friends house later today to try out the stick and see how it works out. Hopefully it is decent. I hear some good things about the stick but not so much on the buttons. Heard it can be changed pretty easily though.

You can turn the voice volume down to 0 in this most excellent of ports. Let's hope that the lock on sound for Ketsui can be turned off as well. :D
I know that you can turn the voices off in Mushi 1, Ibara, DeathSmiles, and Futari. You can't in the first two DonPachis and Galuda and DOJ.

It seems like it's standard with all of Cave's own ports in recent times. I dunno about the Ketsui one, since it's done by someone else. Hell, I still don't think it's going to come out.

In case anyone's interested, I've been hyping this game over at my dinky DToid blog for a bit, and a handful of readers said they'd be buying it - in order to help them and others get the general gist of the game, I recently posted a "How-To" Blog that hopefully covers the essentials. If you have any suggestions for stuff to add or explain in a clearer manner feel free to offer them.

Oh, I'm perfectly fine with the voices.
However, use Palm, go face the Stage 4 boss and you'll see what I mean.

Just got my copy from PA and luckily, I got one with the 1.01 DLC! I have both US and JPN systems, so is there any benefit to using the code on one versus the other?

Think about where you want to use it. If you use it on the USA console, you will always be able to use it there from any Live ID. Same for the other way around. I'd recommend using it on whatever region Live you wish to do your achievements and score attack on.

I messed up and redeemed early.. so I didn't know I could do it on the USA Live. So now if I wanna play 1.01 I'm essentially bound to my Japanese console.

Still waiting on my copy from PA.

Anyway, a noob question re: 1.01 DLC -- does 1.01 become a selectable option, or does it replace 'Original' mode? I'm not too keen on it if it replaces the 'stock' configuration of the game, if you will.

That was pretty much my thinking as well. I play everything I can on the US console and use the JPN for the region locked stuff only. It's connected to Live, but only because I had a spare port on my switch.

Thanks for the sanity check!

You can copy the content and the userid over and use it on the other console as well, you'd just have to be logged into XBOX Live for that to work.

Still waiting on my PA copy as well. It's never taken this long to get stuff from them. :(

I'm still waiting too. I pre-ordered months ago and got the airmail box. I should have just done NCSX being that I live in New York. Oh well, at least now i know.

Yeah, I am. Economy shipping with Play Asia usually takes 7-10 days to London - it's christmas though, so who knows.

Picked up my LE from the family home today, though it arrived late last week. Surprised that the cheap Play-Asia shipping option got here at speed. A little pissed that the LE box had a few squashed corners from transit, though, but whatever.

Concentrating on Original on the three main non-locked modes (Arcade, X360 and Arrange - I don't bother with Novice) for the time being, since this is essentially the first time I've played Futari seriously, and I need to learn the game. Arrange is by far the most entertaining Cave remix I've played in a long while, loads more gold than MMP flying around, bullets all over the shop, no slowdown whatsoever. Got the scoring technique down, just need to refine now - looking for 3.5bil+.

Gamertag is IcarusFW. Let me know who you are, though, since some of you have forum names and gamertags that aren't the same.

I AM SERIOUSLY LOVING THIS GAME.

Playing for survival at the moment rather than score. Everything about this game screams quality.

Can only get to stage 3 boss on original but can defeat Novice Arrange on 1 Credit (does that count as a 1CC????) and just got 205,601,516. No idea if that's crap.

How do I get onto the leaderboards etc?

Not sure what other options there are, but the easy way (imo) is to get a 360 HDD to SATA converter for a couple bucks on eBay and use some programs I couldn't link to to rip a copy of the HDD to your computer, and then write it to another HDD. I think you can copy over individual files with such programs as well. It's all very simple and doesn't void any warranties or anything (it hooks up to the connector on the HDD that the 360 connects to, so you don't have to open it).

I want to put the instruction card for this in my vert cab. Does anyone have a link to a hi-res scan of it?

+1 Please.

Edit: If so, I'll try to do a new one from it that shows the Arrange buttons as well.

oh god im agonizing right now. I had two mistakes that cost me a new highscore by 400k. I got too close to the 4th boss when collecting gems and bombed (if i wasnt playing novice of course that would be worse), and I missed the damn 1up on stage 5. I think that's worth 10mil :(

back to da drawing board!

If you have separate hard drives on each console, you can probably get it from your download history. If you use the same hard drive for both, it -should- just come with the hard drive. In both cases, it'll be available as long as you're signed into Live.

I think I've accepted more friend requests today than I have in the last year, hurray! Unfortunately, I'm literally doing worse score-wise with every single credit I play. This is frustrating! >=( I'm going to break 300M on Novice Original (yeah, lol) if it kills me. In the last few days, I've had 295 -> 293 -> 280 -> and I just finished with 253. This game hates me, hahahaha.

EDIT: So of course, on my very next credit: 313 million for Novice Original. Determination goes a long way, I suppose!

I too have yet to receive my copy through PA though its hardly been a week, lol. But I just want to say that I highly recommend NOT getting the cheapest shipping rate PA offers. Waiting for a package without tracking is awful.

Congrats on the improvement! I've tried a few times today and i keep coming a few mill short of braking 330mil. Frustrating indeed. I've been paying attention to my stage endscores so I kinda have a gauge of how i'm doing, and for a bit the biggest wildcard was if I made a stupid mistake a long the way. My last run was a solid one but I guess I played to conservatively scoring wise and even though I didn't make any "mistakes" I didn't beat my best score today that included some dumb errors including missing the 1up. I'll quit for tonight but I'll give a few more runs tomorrow.

But you have to already have the user on that console. There is a way to do that, but I'm not sure how easy it is. Can you just recover a gamertag on a new console very easily or what? I just made a direct copy of my HDD so I don't even know. :/

14 days and counting here lol. Took my stick over to my friends house and tried it out though. Works like a charm but I might replace the buttons. How does everyone else like the stick? Or I guess the question should be, "How are you playing Futari right now?"

1. 360 Controller
2. Limited Edition Futari stick
3. Some other limited edition stick
4. Your own handmade stick

I am going with #2 right now and still getting used to it but I think I will get better with practice.

Funny that you would ask this question. The stick I'd planned on using for this and all the other shooters on 360 came in today, and broke about two hours later. Caveat emptor if anyone else in this thread was thinking of buying one.

Back to the standard wireless 360 pad for now.

Currently almost able to NMNB Ultra Stage 1 with the Xbox 360 d-pad.

Also, that Mushi stick of yours is gonna be a bitch. Better get your solderin' iron and some quick disconnects ready.
