I recently reformatted both my desktop and my laptop, but I might have stashed away those replays somewhere. I'll take a look sometime this week; if I do have it I most likely won't be able to record it to video and dump it to YouTube like I wanted to before. I just lack the time these days, as I've finally gotten a fulltime job programming.

Which also cuts into my free time to play games and is also accelerating my carpal tunnel syndrome like crazy so when I do play stuff it's been stuff like Fallout 3 and Civ Revolutions. When I was still practicing GW on MAME a few months back just playing full levels with save states, I did manage a couple runs that totalled around 140 trillion I think. Just never was able to do a proper run that didn't completely blow it I feel I should have a much better score in the DC version, but things just never came together for that either. >sighs<

Not definitely my last Arcade score, but very probably. I got almost everything I wanted together in one run... Multiplier was 19.4 million, could still be a lot better... Well maybe I could practice stage 5 more to get better strategies, but not right now. Once I had a multiplier of over 20 million, but yet the score of this run was extremely bad.

After a bunch of savestate practice, here's a score I'm ok with. Fairly early in stage 5, so if I can survive through 5 and 6, I should be able to hit 50T at least.

No problem. The Ruby superplays are basically enough to get the score up.

So close to taking down the boss, but I reflected a little early. Not a stellar run in the early sections, definitely possible to improve. Came into stage 6 with 0 lives, 0 bombs, but I'm pretty comfortable with it.

A new savestate run today got me just over 100T, so something around there may be the limit of my current strategies, given near-perfect execution.

That came unexpected... My first credit back into the Dreamcast version and I finally did beat that stage 6 beast. I almost cleared the game but the last pattern of the stranger got me then. The much weirder thing is how I beat stage 6. I wasted my last 2 bombs at rather unnessecary patterns and then dodged like I never did before. I can´t even say I was lucky, it just seemed like the pattern with the ring-shaped bullets wasn´t as evil as all the other times. The score is not really good, but I´m glad anyways. Yet I don´t know if I want to go for the All Clear, 40 trillion would be nice though.

Now that STGT is over, I've resumed my efforts with GigaWing. Still slow going, but I made a huge (for me) scoring improvement today despite foolishly dying on Stages 2 and 3. Seems like I would do much better if I could stop doing that. Only been to stage 5 a few times. Definitely need more practice on it.

Hmm. Another trillion. Not much in the grand scheme of things, but it's still a 25% improvement for me!

You haven't updated my pilot in the last couple updates, so I guess it's will work out okay now that I got this score using Sinnosuke.

Don't really like Sinnosuke, but I seem to do fewer reckless things when I use him. Cleared the first three stages with 2 lives and zero bombs. Didn't get the extend and died once on the stage 4 boss. Dodged a fuck ton of bullets on stage 5 and got a bit further than in my previous attempts, but eventually died and then died again during a shield activation delay. I am proud to say that none of my deaths were with bombs in stock on this credit.

Apologies about that, I've been slowly updating all my threads during my lunch hour at work when I have a free moment and I also have it like preprogrammed into my head that nobody ever changes their ship/characters in a game (stick with what you know and all that). Sorry, and...updated.

I am so bad on the last boss

dex, for the final boss, he's not that easy to beat, unless you still have lives in reserve for the rest of the playing field. For the lasers that the medallion launches, avoid them. And for the Stranger, keep moving a bit so you could bring him back to where he came from! Oh, and your hitbox is found at the center of your ship (the cockpit!)

Oh, I know that. It's just that I keep forgetting I can bomb. I have a tactic for the last boss down, it's just that I also keep forgetting the transition to his second form attack (really easy if positioned properly and deadly otherwise [I mean the really fast bullet wave, non-aimed]) - I constantly die there and usually end up with no lives (because on stage 4 I die with 6 bombs in stock) and two bombs, both of which I use on the second-to-last form, then I stupidly die on the final spam attack.

Also, I already have a 1cc of this game, it's just that the score of that sucks.

I got more points! Added about two trillion to my last score. That should move me up a fair number of positions. Still got a long way to go though.

Switched pilots again because Sinnosuke wasn't working for me today. I managed a 6 trillion with Isha and then this one with Ruby. Died once at the train on Stage 2 or I would have scored higher. My other two deaths were on stage 5. Reached the mid-boss for the first time and beat it. Didn't last too long after that.
