nZero, you will be playing this at the next shmupmeet.
Nope.. I don't really care for Nendroids.nZero wrote:Kiken wrote:I'll have my copy tomorrow.

I should've known you'd buy this, did you order the LE?
It's not like you'll make a profit if you sell it now, so you might as well just open it.brentsg wrote:Mine arrived yesterday. I was hoping to see some other impressions before I cracked it open.
Not only open it, but try it and tell everyone who has'nt already bought it if it is worth the money as a shooting or not.Elixir wrote:It's not like you'll make a profit if you sell it now, so you might as well just open it.brentsg wrote:Mine arrived yesterday. Right, but I had forgotten to cancel the preorder and I can still send it back sealed. I'm out shipping but meh..Elixir wrote:It's not like you'll make a profit if you sell it now, so you might as well just open it.brentsg wrote:Mine arrived yesterday. So it is not even amusing. Damn it, I don't know what is going on with Gulti in these years but their games are geting worse and worse.WinterMute wrote:okay, i went back and tried it again - don't have time to do anything in depth so :
- Arcade mode is locked from the beginning , you have to complete the story mode (i think! not had the grit to do it yet - not because it's so hard, but because it's just so dull and uninspired
- 4 different sets of Witches teams (3 witches in each) compromise each story , quickly tried all the sets - levels appear to be exactly the same , only your firepower changes.
- no power ups, only ability to change formation and a "super shot"
- twin stick controls, left stick moves, right stick controls direction of fire. 360 degree firing/movement.
- you control the "lead" witch , the other two witches act like options providing extra fire power. You can switch which witch is the lead which changes your firepower.
- you can make the witches fly one each to each side, in a row like options, or one each side but facing the opposite direction to which you are facing.
- game changes from hori to veritcle scrolling every once in a while
- upping the difficulty to hard or very hard at least makes the game a bit more enjoyable. The stock "Normal" level just seems to devoid of any danger/action
- anime style stills with Japanese voiced story + text. You get some of these popping up in game and it's literally in the middle of the action when it cuts in and plays out, then you get dumped back into the game. Annoying.
- graphically pretty lacking, undetailed models, fair amount of bullets,
- enemies (bosses and regular) and setting are just plain boring. All enemies are black and red, backgrounds uninspired, little scenery
- lots of "yaaaaa!" style shouts , music largely uninspired
- no particularly fun scoring methods i can see. Just collect the medals as people die, the more you are alive the higher these becoming in value. Super power can be used seemingly pretty much over and over, there is a charge up time but it's pretty short.
I dunno, i just can't bring myself to play this any more. At least moving the difficulty up stops it being -absolutely- turgid, just plain old turgid.
There is absolutely no reason for anyone to but this game full price - if you haven't got all the other X360 shooters, then get one of those instead : this is definitely the worst retail shooter on the X360. If you want to get it for the collecting value, i'd wait until it hits 1980 yen and i really can't see it being that long before it gets there.
That post is just one person being extremely belligerent about the game, don't take what he says as the gospel. Wait for more people to post their thoughts.Phellan Wolf wrote:So it is not even amusing. Damn it, I don't know what is going on with Gulti in these years but their games are geting worse and worse.
I know that is why I am getting a bit nervous because I haven't read anymore impressions of the game, furthermore there are no player gameplays in youtube to be watched.MachineAres 1CC wrote:That post is just one person being extremely belligerent about the game, don't take what he says as the gospel. yup, Phellan, i agree with this even if i am the author. I would still say wait until those other inevitable other opinions turn up - the main crux of what i'm saying is that i can't see anything worth the $60 or whatever equivalent to import this especially with so many quality shooters on the X360. It should drop in price, though the early non-LE did come with a bundle of B4 posters of all the character (if that's important)That post is just one person being extremely belligerent about the game, don't take what he says as the gospel. Some more revelations for you... The reason why Arcade mode is initially locked is that you have to beat Story mode with each team to unlock that respective trio of characters in Arcade mode. So to have everyone unlocked, you'll have to go through all 4 team scenarios.WinterMute wrote:Phew, i thought i was going to end up a lone voice on the state of this one*

Luckily you can skip the Animu, if they'd left that unskippable my tv would have went out the window.
I beleive I speak for everone with Japanese MSP when I say, FUCK THAT!nZero wrote:The official page was updated with the DLC descriptions and pricing:

Damn it is a robbery. Let's wait for the price drop of the game wich fortunately will happen really soon.nZero wrote:The official page was updated with the DLC descriptions and pricing:

So is it fun or not? Please upload some videos on youtube.Kiken wrote:Seeing as I'm having soooooo much fun with this game right now, I decided to go ahead and download the DLC stuff (since it's now available).
Time Attack Mode: 700k download... paying for unlock code, confirmed.
Extra Character: 233 MB download... I guess for the obscene amount of audio (at least that sort of file size confirms that it wasn't on the disc to begin with). Once purchased, she's instantly available in Arcade Mode and a 5th scenario is added to Story Mode.
I played through scenarios 3 and 4 and then played through Arcade with my new custom team: Eyepatch, Meganekko and Tarot. Nearly had the SCC except I got nailed by the final boss's obnoxious insta-lasers-everywhere attack.
So...Mio, Perrine, and Eila?Kiken wrote: I played through scenarios 3 and 4 and then played through Arcade with my new custom team: Eyepatch, Meganekko and Tarot.
A few posts up he says its fucking awful.Phellan Wolf wrote:So is it fun or not? Please upload some videos on youtube.
I have read it, I just wanted to point if his latest post was a joke or not, because he seems to enjoy it althoug being an awful game then why to download the extra content if you don't like or enjoy it???TaygetaVendetta wrote:A few posts up he says its fucking awful.Phellan Wolf wrote:So is it fun or not? .
Yep, that would be my team. Mio has a mediocre wide shot but her saving grace is an instant proximity slash that's really strong. Many of the enemy formations are of the rush-down variety, so having a character who insta-slashes anything near her is a real saving grace. It's why I keep her as the team leader, since I have to worry less about taking damage from inadvertantly running into something. Perrine has a fast and really powerful Blazing Lasers/Gunhed style homing laser. In a game where you're being accosted from all sides simultaneously, having a strong homing style character makes things much easier. Eila has a mediocre wide shot combined with Thunder Force Hunter-type homing shots. She's like a weaker version of Perrie, but having more homing shots is always a good thing.ZeetherKID77 wrote:So...Mio, Perrine, and Eila?Kiken wrote: I played through scenarios 3 and 4 and then played through Arcade with my new custom team: Eyepatch, Meganekko and Tarot.
Quite fitting that you'd have Perrine on the same team as Mio given her...affinity for Mio.
Nope, you have to familiarize yourself with the characters as you play. Hence yet another reason why they foist Story Mode on you first. Eila I described above... Sanya uses a huge rocket launcher which fires high strength, explosive rounds; the drawback is that she can only have 2 shots onscreen at once IIRC.TaygetaVendetta wrote:Are there stats when you're selecting your character, telling you what they're good at or do you have to figure that out on your own? Eila and Sanya will be permanent characters on my team either way, still deciding on a third.
I did purchase the DLC since I figured nobody else would (I don't mind "taking one for the team") and because I do like to see all of what's being offered. As for my posts... yes, the game is incredibly middling, and that's being kind. It feels like a run-of-the-mill doujin effort at best. That being said, I'm still able to pull a degree of enjoyment out of it. I think if certain aspects of the game design weren't so awkward and/or flawed, it'd be a much better game. Basically, take Omega V and strip away the interesting level design, enemy placement and variety and the scoring mechanic and then repalce it with most of the plodding, recycled nature of Aegis Wing and you'll have an idea of how this plays.Phellan Wolf wrote:I have read it, I just wanted to point if his latest post was a joke or not, because he seems to enjoy it althoug being an awful game then why to download the extra content if you don't like or enjoy it???
