just to clear up any misinformation regarding ketsui appearing in mame, i'd like to post the facts, correct as of today (23/04/2009):

Guru has the Ketsui PCB.
It is not dumped.
It has protection which needs a lot of work.
MAMEDEV will most likely NOT emulate any of the newer CAVE games for many years.
Guru could dump the PCB tomorrow but since MAMEDEV have no interest in emulating it there is no point.

Quote from Guru: "I do very much appreciate them offering the Ketsui PCB. I will take great care of it and eventually their patience will be rewarded."

i hope that clears up any issues, and i will put this info into the opening post

Guru has Ketsui.
Ketsui was donated to Guru because people wanted him to work on it.
Guru dislikes the game and doesn't understand the desire for it to be dumped.
Guru appreciates the gift.
He could dump the rom for others to work on, but won't, and won't explain why.
It needs work and he has no support, so nothing will become of it.

I should become a rom dumper.

can anybody confirm he hasnt just sold it on....especially if he doesnt like the game, $1000 is a lot of money

i have to admit, i was unsure what the situation was, but rtw clarrified it for me, and if there is one person who you should take information from on good authority, it is rtw

with that said, i think there was perhaps some naivity or wishful thinking when organising the ketsui dump project. i think people should have been told that after purchasing a ketsui for dumping, it could still take years for the game to appear in mame. from my understanding, guru has a huge backlog of stuff to be dumped and worked on, and if it's something he does out of goodwill in his spare time, you just have to accept that it will be done when it's done. and on top of that there is the decapping and de-encrypting processes, which rtw explained.

i don't understand how you call my post completely inaccurate, and then repeat the first point? the rest is not really relevant. most boards are donated, and of the hunderds of games dumped, i do not imagine he likes them all except for ketsui.
