Well, obviously it's all about building those counters up, right? They go up when you collect gems, which will drop from destroyed enemies. To get larger gems that will make your counter rise much faster, you want to be killing enemies with the correct shot; either holding A or holding C. If you look at your counter, it will either be tinted blue or green. When it is blue, hold A to kill enemies, and when it is green, hold C. It changes color every 500. Also, when you bomb your counter goes down a little, and when you die your counter goes down a lot, so you should avoid those things. ;]

An increase, and passed the first extend mark...

Though it kinda sucks to know that about half of both of these scores are from the last part of Stage 2's boss, so I better try doing some stuff during the actual stages.

Congrats on hitting the first extend! There is no shame in making most of your points on the stage 2 boss; that guy is a gold mine. Rad to see you've taken an interest in Reco. Which character do you prefer?

The best part was that I had an audience, I also had a no miss going until the stage 4 boss. It was my first time 1CC with palm.

Died way too much in stage 5

this was a pretty good run , died 2 times before stage 2 boss, ended up getting over 116 mil and getting an extend then getting more on stage 3 to end up with this score.

What are the default extends at? Just want to check the one I play on is set to default.

Hey core, welcome!

The 1st extend is in the 35-40 mill range. if scoring properly you should get it around the end of stage 2. The 2nd is at 100 mill. Which I usually get somewhere in stage 4 on a good day and at the beggining of stage 5 on a bad day.

Just FYI, Maniac mode extends are 100 mill and 250 mill.

your score of 95 mill by the end of stage 4 is pretty normal, at least by my standards.

core: default extends for Original are 35M and 100M respectively.
The best record for stage 1 alone is 17M (16.7 is what I can usually get), try to get near that as possible at the end of stage 1.

Thanks guys, I am getting the first extend at 35 million so I think everything is default.

I'm scoring about 14M at stage one and 35M at stage two, by stage three things go a bit pear shaped so my scoring tends to suffer. Once I hit that second extend I know I can boost my score by a fair bit. Funny thing with today's score was I lost 2 stupid lives on stage three but then went through all of stage 4 without dying until the boss.

More practice!

126 million going in, Choked!

My goal is 200 million by stage 3. (I'm at 185 mill on a good day)

I can get the 250 mil extend by the end of stage 3 now, but stage 4 is still difficult for me.

My original scores are maxing out at just over 200 mill.
not really going anywhere.
