I picked up the Williams PS2 collection. Think I like this one even better than Last Gladiators. And plus it has Funhouse. I used play on Funhouse while I was waiting for Street Fighter 2 Turbo to open up. It was cool get to play it again, even if it’s not the real deal.

Too bad they didn’t include Addams Family and Twilight Zone. I know they have licensing issues. But it seems like they could just give them a generic name and use the table.

Also, I'd love to hear more about Flipper Critters. I've been seeing that in bargain bins and was wondering about it.
I recall seeing that rare DS game of Flipper Critters at my local Target. It was priced at $14.99. Didn't pick it up but it does feature two different pinball tables as shown on the back cover of the box.

Another recent DS pinball game by the name of Dream Pinball 3D has appeared on retailer's shelves across the USA. I still haven't checked that one either.

Flipper Critters is quite nice, I have to say. The graphics are quite good, the gameplay is easy to grasp with nice tutorials, and the tables are creatively designed. I still haven't played it much because there are so many other good DS titles stealing the show at the moment, but so far there is no question that it is worth the $10 they charge for it at Walmart.

Dream Pinball 3D, on the other hand, has really weak graphics and it is near impossible to get a good camera angle. I'm doubtful that I'll even get $10 worth of play out of it.

For professor ganson,

Thanks for the heads up on those two DS pinball titles...will see if I can scour a copy of DS Flipper Critters then based on your recommendation. ^_~

Does anyone know anything about the simply-titled PSP game "Pinball" made by Hudson?

That's the first time I've heard of it being mentioned. Hudson has been known to quietly release software without much hype. Sometimes, it's best to buy it on day one of release and see how it fares. ^_~

That is another new DC game title that I've heard from you for the first time as well, professor ganson. Is it a another rendered pinball game like that of the ProPinball series? Any cool screenshots worth checking out? ^_~

I haven't found out too much about it yet. It seems it's from Kaze. Here is a very quick write-up that has me hesitating:

I actually bought it a little while back - I'd need to pull it out again to post any meaningful impressions, but I don't recall being all that impressed with it. Also, what indications are you aware of that this is from Kaze (other than the ambiguous wording in the article you linked)? I don't think it's one of theirs.

Off to the side, though, relatively recently I took a chance on "Pinball Graffiti" for the Saturn - the graphics are ugly, but it actually plays pretty well (though some stages are a bit too easy to exploit for extra balls), so I might recommend that off the cuff if you can get it cheap.

Right. I was making a dubious inference from that link in saying it was from Kaze, so I'm not sure who the developer is.

EDIT: Little Wing is the developer. I don't think I've heard of them before.

The developer is Little Wing. It's right there on the page.

Yakumo also writes that he is fan of Kaze's pinball games, not that Neo Golden has anything to do with said developer.

I'm still interested in picking up that Hudson PSP title someday.

Has anyone played Super Robot Pinball (GBC)?

I like Super Robot games and pinball, so this looks promising. Any impressions?

I played it very briefly. I bought a ton of GBC games sometime back and along with some Mario titles this was one of the few I kept. Nice, clear graphics and good ball physics. Can't really say much more than that since it's in a box somewhere I can't get to atm :?

Thanks, nem. That sounds promising. I'm not terribly picky, truth be told, so I'll probably like it. Now to find a copy.

From what I have tried, it seems to be similar to Pokemon Pinball GBC (which isn't a bad thing, IMO). Physics seem similar, it has similar table design, and they are both from Jupiter (the developers, not the planet :) ). It has giant robot fights with pinball mechanics instead of fights to collect pokemon.

Pinball FX has a new table that's really hard. Leaderboards for it are not working yet as of last night.

Williams Collection came out again on 360 and I think PS3. 3 more tables have been added and one of them is Medieval Madness

Interesting. I may have to get this for medieval madness alone, not to mention the hd graphics.

That new Pinball FX table is actually really fun. Slower than the others, however. ...not that slower is a bad thing. I'm curious to see what wizard mode on this one is like...

Yay...yesterday Amazon shipped my 360 Williams collection. MM by itself should make this a worthy purchase. If anyone is interested, Amazon is selling the 360 version for $30 and with free shipping.

Oddly enough, I also have the PSP rev. on the way via Ebay. No MM, but 10 other tables should be good enough for pinball on the go.

Is the PS3 version of Williams Collection out now in speciality video game stores like Gamestop, EB, etc.?

The PSP version of Williams is excellent; best portable pinball bar none, and the PSP's shoulder buttons feel so perfect for flippers it's almost too good.

My copy of the new PS3 version is on its way, now I can play it on a huge screen, it will be blissful.

I didn't know there was a new Pinball FX table out... normally I would have jumped on that DLC purchase, but now with the massive Williams HD collections coming the timing couldn't have been worse for Zen Studios to release a new table of their own.

Going from the portable version to the PS3 version will be nice, but I went from the Wii version to the PSP version and I found it a bit diminutive. Honestly, for portable pinball I can think of about half a dozen I prefer, but I think it's mainly because I began with the Wii version, which plays great, even if the graphics could be sharper.

Metroid Prime Pinball, I'm guessing would be one of those, since it's genuinely great also. What others (maybe I am missing out)?

btw, if anyone is looking for a decent pinball game on iPhone/iTouch, I suggest giving The Deep Pinball a try... it's not bad (and cheap of course :)).
