msm - Underdogs - 275'800 - 5 - (MAME)

doubt i'll be able to do any better than this

no bombs, large hit box, fast bullets, enemies to dodge too, its a hard game! made even harder to get good at in a week as you can't practice later levels because there seems to be no continue system

still the music is cool, i like when you collect the powerup i think it sounds a bit like the invinsability music from mario

There is a 1 million bonus in the game called cleopatra. Going through this thread and the GD in the strategy thread should explain it fully.

Shoot for 1 million doin' what you do and you'll be at their level. Then you can consider yourself as good as they are. Don't let the 2 million people get ya down. They're only up that high 'cause they found some egyptian head to the right of a large dead fish in some purple sand that happened to grab them another instant million. You really are closer than you think!

The strat section has more detail if you've seen the dead fish fossil.

I noticed that, too. I always feel the urge to detroy enemies by crashing into them when I pick up the powerup because the happy-go-lucky music that plays when you get it reminds me so much of the invincibility star music from SMB.

Duke is good, but slightly lower down on the scale of titles we have Marquis and Baron, which i think have a slightly more sinister air. Baron von Geordieland.

I suppose Count would be the ultimate though.

yeeees finally broke a million.. tried looping the first stage a couple of times but it seemed more tiresome than rewarding? also the scenery seems to advance anyways?

And if you're wondering where my ship is in the first image, the answer is simple... I got blown up a half a second after Cleopatra by one of the ship types in the upper left, which a stray shot caused to explode far too close to me

Sadly after that, bonuses became few and far between for some reason.
