I've gotta say that Nidhogg does look like a *ton* of multiplayer fun. Simple, yet deep and satisfying, while staying quite humorous.replayme wrote:Bought Luftrausers yesterday (Day One!). Also found out about this:

I should also say that I'm really starting to look forward to CounterSpy this summer. I really, *really* hope that it's a physical release for the Vita, and not just a download. I really dislike that medium, but if it's the only way to get the best titles...well, I guess it's what I have to deal with. Game does look awesome, though.
Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
There's now a new mandatory firmware: 3.10.
100 game limit raised to 500. Rest of the feature list is fairly uninteresting: Calendar app (who doesn't use a phone for this?), music player supports searching when connected to a PC (nice if you use that, I guess), daylight saving time option added and 30 minute setting added to standby.
Also apparently corrupts memory cards to the points where they'll crash your Vita. And since you can't format those cards on anything else... I would wait with updating even if you don't want to stay on CFW.
If you need to get anything from the PSN store better do it now, use the web store and add it to your download queue and it will work, but who knows how long before Sony blocks that.
I watched the intro of Final Fantasy X HD and not impressed with performance, some noticeable judder in the intro for whatever reason. Final Fantasy X-2 seemed better.
Was so hoping for Duke Nukem 3D before this firmware update
Edit: also to anyone considering Project Diva F 2nd: it's getting a physical release in the west that'll likely be much cheaper. They're sharing news about it at E3 though, so you'll have to wait a long while for that.
Edit2: Hyperdimension Neptunia Rebirth is also coming to the west.

hype for F2nd physical on Vita, was wondering why the hell f for Vita didn't get one... it better let you use the stick for star notes, using the swipe controls is so awful (is the game out in JP? does anyone know if it lets you?)ZellSF wrote: Edit: also to anyone considering Project Diva F 2nd: it's getting a physical release in the west that'll likely be much cheaper. No hype for Neptunia.

Man, I wish God Eater 2 would come over though. Been playing the first game on my PSP, doing the claw grip to deal with the camera....
There's so much stuff I wish would come over.

and jeez, e3 is forever away
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.
Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
Six new exploits have been announced if you're still on 3.01 (with 3.10 potentially breaking stuff, even legit users should stay on 3.01), most importantly Numblast which is 35 MB, 3$ and autoloads save data at game start before videos or disclaimers or even asking you to load save data. Meaning it starts TN-V instantly.
I couldn't get the download queue trick to transfer it, so I had to use the PS3 + OpenCMA trick (connect Vita to PC with OpenCMA to pass the firmware check, disconnect it and connect it to a PS3 to transfer software from it).

Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
It sounds like none of those exploits work on 3.10. So they are only good if you have a PS Vita left on 3.01, buy one of the games in question using a PS3 and then transfer it to your PSV via PS3.
Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
The US version (and EU too I'm assuming) of Deception IV has both JP audio and full JP text option. It's practically like importing the JP version for half the cost. The only "bad" thing about the US release is that the cover art is slightly censored compared to the JP one.
As for the game itself, I'm liking it so far. I've always been meaning to get into this series, but haven't actually gotten around to it until now.

If this is a April Fool, it's a cruel one
Natural Doctrine coming west, SRPG. Looks nice, but hard to tell without playing or an English walkthrough of he tutorial parts.. Vita needs native strategy titles. Also coming to PS3 and PS4.

Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
I had the upcoming Conception II on pre-order, since it's the sort of eye-rolling "oh, Japan" kind of game I often have trouble resisting, but after playing through the demo I ended up cancelling it, something I haven't done for some time. The silly/slightly creepy theme I could have put up with (though it does strike a more uncomfortable chord than usual this time out, at least with me), but the battle system is an unfortunate dud, which leaves little to appeal to me personally...anyone else have different thoughts on the game, in case I'm missing something?
Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
I've recently tucked into Fez Vita recently. Nothing new of course, but a wonderful platformer for portable play.
With OlliOlli, Tearaway, Fez, TxK, Luftrausers and Proteus, in recent months my Vita has got a lot of love.
So much love, that when I misplaced a game and save-file stuffed Vita memory card the other day while tidying my flat I was compelled to tear the place to pieces. As I resigned myself to going through the kitchen bin I was feeling pretty sorry for myself picking through scraps, but there it was, thrown in with a handful of pistachio shells. Finding that again felt good. Filthy hands, but a smug face.
Oh, and by the way, I have a Vita code to download Toukiden: the Age of Demons for free. Anybody want it for free? I'll never play it. One thing; I apologise if the code has passed it's 'use by date'. Not sure if that even happens in the case of the Vita. PM me and it's yours.

Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
Whoever does accept Spadgy's generous offer should also kill some things with me online. I've put the game down after reaching Chapter 4 in hopes of finding someone to co-op it with.
Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
A couple have tried to accept the offer, but alas the code seems region locked. Anybody in PAL-land want it?
Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
I'm from PAL-land... But I have a US PSN account and no interest in that game.
It's also supposedly more difficult than the first game and runs at a higher resolution (not native res).
Late reply, but yes you can use analog sticks in place of touch controls and it works pretty well. You have to choose between analog and touch controls though; can't have both.null1024 wrote: hype for F2nd physical on Vita, was wondering why the hell f for Vita didn't get one... it better let you use the stick for star notes, using the swipe controls is so awful (is the game out in JP? does anyone know if it lets you?)

Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
Just bought this today, though mainly for my daughter. Haven't had time to play games lately. Glad to hear you liked it well enough, BM.BulletMagnet wrote:Finished this one myself recently, and as someone too stupid to stand a chance at most "solve the mystery" type games was pleasantly surprised; for whatever it's worth I only got "really" stuck at one point late in the game, and was able to continue easily until I figured it out (this might be a negative factor for someone better at this stuff than me, but for a neophyte it was appreciated). I also liked the bits of arcade elements inserted into the trials to give you a break from just reading text all the time (though hopefully they're polished more in the sequel), and found myself unexpectedly eager to see where things went next, despite not everything making sense even at the end. The silly "simulation" mode unlocked after finishing is only worth playing through once, but so is the main game, for the most part: unfortunately you can't change either the language or the difficulty upon starting a "new game plus" wherein you can unlock extras you missed, which kills the impetus further. Overall, though, glad I decided to take a chance on it.ZellSF wrote:Got around to finishing Danganronpa.

So there's a 2D platformer puzzle thing (I'm guessing here) coming to Vita called...

Can we somehow ban Japan from naming games soon?

And this: http://www.gamestop.com/ps-vita/games/t ... ive/114644
Tales of Hearts R is getting localized.
Furthermore, Dead Nation is coming to PS Vita tomorrow.
EDIT: link is dead now, but it worked before. Said that Tales of Hearts R will get an exclusive physical release at Gamestop, as well as a digital release.

Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
Link's dead, maybe it was put up prematurely.
Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
(for reference, it said Gamestop exclusive, so it likely wasn't a guess or a placeholder, they know it's coming).
Personally don't care, but Tales series has some fans so there'll at least be some new Vita owners because of it and more Vita owners is always nice.

Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
Odd. Namco previously stated that they wouldn't localize either of the Tales games on Vita until Western sales of the system picked up, and it's definitely not at that point yet, nor will it probably ever be. Maybe Sony finally "offered incentives" for them to do so.

I heard about this earlier. I really don't want to hope, especially since that link went dead.

Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
Or they realized the attach rate of the Vita is very high and that might be more important than the number of units sold.Pretas wrote:Odd. That code for a free download of Toukiden Vita is still available, though seems region locked to PAL.
I now also have a code for the Vita/PS3 version of Major League Baseball 2014. Free for whoever wants it, but presumably region-locked. Region-locked baseball game... not sure how many PALers there'll be keen on that one! Of course, you're welcome to try and see if MLB 2014 is region free!

As I said, the link being a Gamestop exclusive pretty much says "we know this for sure". It being taken down is even more telling.null1024 wrote:I heard about this earlier. I really don't want to hope, especially since that link went dead.
There was also a video uploaded to a official channel and taken down today. It's now the worst kept secret ever.
That video said winter 2014, for those that care.
Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
PSN Flash 0.99$ Sale.
Not a lot of Vita stuff (but to really annoy us, the PSX games we want the most to be playable on Vita are included: Crash Bandicoot and Spyro series). Creating new topics about Sony stuff is... scary around here.
Only things for Vita are Everyday Shooter and Retro City Rampage. I wouldn't recommend either, but for 1$ you might as well go for it if you're interested.
For PS3 there's some the lesser liked Telltale series (Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, Sam & Max, Tales of Monkey Island) and some random indies.
Only things I would really recommend is Super Stardust HD and Tokyo Jungle, if you somehow managed to avoid getting them up until now.

I'm so excited. Even if Bamco probably still hates us.
also, that reminds me that I still need to finish ToX

This is hilarious(ly sad).
Crash Bandicoot and Spyro games are now playable on Vita. This was announced literally hours after the flash sale were they cost 1$ ended.

Early impressions says they've removed the compatibility list entirely.
You can download tons of PSX and PSP software you couldn't before.

Nice they are fattening up the library for the Vita TV.
