Don't get too hopeful about RSG - there was some discussion about it here a little while ago, and I recall reading that one of the Treasure guys said that it would be a lot harder to do in purely technical terms than Ikaruga was, and that the game hasn't aged as well as they would like. AFAIK nothing concrete has been said one way or the other, but don't hold your breath.

Thats what I read earlier. Having to convert it to at least 720p, and tweakin it to work on next gen. But I think it can be done, in sense they should because they would def. cash in on a re-hash. Lets cross our fingers.BulletMagnet wrote:Don't get too hopeful about RSG - there was some discussion about it here a little while ago, and I recall reading that one of the Treasure guys said that it would be a lot harder to do in purely technical terms than Ikaruga was, and that the game hasn't aged as well as they would like. It might be possible but I read earlier that it took them 2 years to port Ikaruga to XBLA, and considering the Saturn code is a mess, they would have to build it from the ground up. Besides Treasure is a very little studio, they even halted the misterious 360 shooter in favour of Sin & Punishment 2. Let's hope someday they release both 360 projects.`Throwdown wrote:Thats what I read earlier. Having to convert it to at least 720p, and tweakin it to work on next gen. Not really. I'm sure they write their code in a proper fashion where they make calls to hardware specific stuff. You can use the same game and just re-write the hardware specific parts. All your other algorithms (save timing tweaks) should work fine. After that it's a matter of deciding to change the art or not.harlequ1n wrote:...considering the Saturn code is a mess, they would have to build it from the ground up.

I'm really not sure it would be that simple with Saturn code. A lot of Saturn code was done in assembler IIRC. Converting that to C++ on a completely different target platform is no trivial task. There's more than a real possibility that they don't even have the source code anymore. That kind of thing is not uncommon when you go that far back.undamned wrote:Not really. I don't think it's that it's a mess, it's that it's built specifically for the Saturn/ST-V hardware. This is even stated by the developers.

As much as Ketsui for 360 is still in limbo [for all we know], the PCB price is steadily dropping. If we never get the 360 port, at least the PCB is more accessible now.E. Randy Dupre wrote:I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever see it, or the rereleased disc, let alone Ketsui.

its still $900-$1000.....and i would blame the economy for any drops rather than a 'maybe' port that, even if released, will probably be very bad

CAVE will port Ketsui themselves, but using their new "style" made popular with Death Smiles 2. Also, this will only be playable on an American or European system.

Yes, and the cool thing is that the cosplayers are all dressed up as the options, not the death lolis themselves.emphatic wrote: I heard it comes with a telephone card which allows you to call in 8yo Death Smiles cosplayers who suck you off.
