Anyone else notice that this just plays the first stage music over the entire thing? It still manages to have far more content than the original trailer though. This is looking great. I can't wait to check it out.hirounder wrote:Another trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46Qe5_Veo54&fmt=22

So that trailer is 1.1 mode? Seems that you get the permanent +Counter like MBL, but it constantly drains even during the stages. Also seems you get gold crowns for chipping enemies now. Guess that means Folette is really fucked :I
Manual option control seems like it will make suicide bullets a total joke. Which is not a bad thing.

Not sure exactly about the DLC card, but no, points do not translate between a US and JP account. I'm importing an MS points card just to buy the black label expansion myself.Damocles wrote:Any chance that the DLC card works like MS point cards in that you can enter a code from the dashboard? If not, then I would have to create a JP account and then couldn't use the DLC on my main (US) account?

The cave whore count in this thread is unbelievable!!!
whatever dlc you get on one xbox should work on any account on that machine.Damocles wrote:If not, then I would have to create a JP account and then couldn't use the DLC on my main (US) account?
if you want to use the dlc on another machine, then you have to use the account you used to get the dlc and be connected to xbox live.
that's how i understand it anyway.
i already have a 1400 point card from play-asia too

has anyone else had a japanese account change back to a normal one? i had a japanese one set up to get the raiden fighters demo, but now it seems to just be a normal uk account - strange.
Anyone notice how the girls animate facial expressions when they talk, while the guy is static. of course its intentional, but is it a expressive statement, or being cheap cause he's the dude that no one cares about.Elixir wrote:Anyone else notice that this just plays the first stage music over the entire thing? Vid looks cool as always. Its's nice to see it recorded on something other than a shaky cam.

I can't wait to get my copy of the game later this month and give it a go. I'm so hoping that it ends up being solid. So far it looks fantastic.

While they did give Nintendogs a 40, Famitsu scores, even if you fault them, are still good for over-arching problems. Like really bad loading times or lag.Elixir wrote:He was rolling his eyes at the fact that people still care about Famitsu scores.
I've really enjoyed some games they score in the low 20s. Like all game review scores, they are mostly just a judge of a general 'suck value', at least if reviewed responsibly.
Damn that video does look really nice. It's been a long damn time since I've had a showcase 2D game. You know, that game you bring out for the non shmup-os to show them what they're missing out on. I think Metal Slug 3 was the last occurance of that, so it'll be fun to bring this into work and boot it up in our theater with the 1080p projector.

This kind of Japanese styled game has always interested me. I ended up playing through Okami entirely in Japanese for a good 30 hours. My favorite Cave song is 黄泉の華 from Guwange. I pretty much love traditional Japanese stuff.
I don't really care about the story a great deal. Same with Odin Sphere, the gameplay was where it's at.

Apparently this is running on a Wii emu. His PC must be very, very high end.
(off topic, sorry)

I just tried playing this game now and it runs 60fps at the title screens and 55-60 with no action (just running). My FPS dropped between 40-48 (peaking at 52) during fight sequences. Probably could get it higher with some optimization and closing out all my running programs.

I don't think id buy this game anyhow. I only played it for 15 seconds just to see if dolphin really could emulate wii games - that it did well. It seemed like the run of the mill samurai warriors, ninety nine nights hack and slash that gets monotonous after 15 minutes.
Wouldn't this game be region locked to NTSC-J Wii consoles anyhow?

I agree this has gone off topic quite a bit. Last one for me. All i'm saying is the game looks great for a 2d game but i'm so tired of the ninja/samurai hack and slash. It just seems like the only new thing they bring to the table are moves everything else is generic.aventus wrote:Yes, region-locked. I don't really get your critics though, hack'n slay has rarely been so much fun as in Odin Sphere and after what I've seen of Oboromuramasa it seems just as enjoyable.
