It's around 100KB. It's definitely just a key file.

What the hell is the big deal if it's a friggin' key? Less to download = good. It's not like you have to pay for it, right?

Try telling that to all the people who didn't get a DLC card.

Well, that hardly has anything to do with the fact that the data is stored on your actual disc and not downloaded, right? You're missing my point.

You said it's not like people have to pay for it, when in fact, some people *do* have to pay for it (most likely off Yahoo Japan Auctions).

To be honest, I'm not upset by it myself. Maybe I'll be a little pensive if they don't give me a card, even though I pre-ordered the game from Play Asia the DAY the article went up on Kotaku about it being region free. I'm just happy to be able to play a game it would have cost me hundreds of dollars to play before.

Well that's not really the intended way of getting it, so... My point was that people were actually mad about the download size rather then not getting the card even though they'd pre-ordered. AFAIK, 1.01 is more of a novelty than an important addition to the actual game release anyway, but by principal, we all should get what we've ordered. This is on par with buying a complete Ketsui kit and missing the infamous suction cup...

Weird thread this one. Everyone seems happy to accept that if 1.01 isn't there it's no big deal - even though it offers a different experience to play through, one that, if word is true, is challenging and different and plenty of fun to play.

I personally want my damn 1.01 DLC, I've already got the PCB so it's a big chunk of the reason I'm buying it at all. Thankfully I never go with online retailers to get such things, so I'm pretty confident the card will be in there.

I can totally understand why people get upset because they didn't get 1.01, but I'm loling pretty hard at people who get their penises in a knot about 1.01 being on the disc already. Somebody had to put a lot of effort into this additional game mode, you pay for it (if you pay for it), you can play it - philosophically speaking, it doesn't make a difference at all whether it's on the disc or it must actually be downloaded first.

To be fair, you can't actually play a suction cup. Unless it's sexy gametime.

Haven't yet seen anyone trying to pawn off a DLC card on Y!J, either, but there are plenty of phonecard sellers. Though if anyone's looking for the full game LE only ordered via the Cave sales page, here's a seller that ships internationally: http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h136917243

Man, I really want a Futari faceplate. Just not $180 want.
I most definitely hate your favorite shooter.

Nah, they're on there dude. About 1,500 yen or thereabouts

No such thing I don't think. There's a faceplate sticker decal going for about $70 bucks?

I never got to play 1.01 when I finally tried out Futari for the first time in Akihabara last year but I hear it is quite the challenge. So while I really wouldn't be missing much if it is not included in my copy, I would still be kinda bummed to not be able to EVER try it. Does anyone know if they are going to offer it as DLC along with Black Label?

You sure what you're seeing aren't the phonecards? Actually, it does look like there's one on there for 1,000 yen, but I rather doubt anyone'll bite.

Yeah, the stickers are what I was referring to. There are a couple on there for about 3000 yen. With proxy service fees and shipping it'd be about $50+ for me to get. That's approaching super-nerd territory - not quite $400 cardboard box level, but getting there. I'd rather just go whole hog and get the full LE, but that's rather out of the budget at the moment.

People really should order early and not just assume they can 'pick one up' anytime. Let this be a lesson.
It's a shitty situation where ordering early wouldn't matter as the day it gets sent out is already too late, though JAPJAC does have a point re: contacting them.

Something similar happened with Halo some time ago where Play-Asia shipped a ton of Chinese language copies. If in doubt, and even if it's shipped, call them up or get in touch.
A whole bunch of us were to get the Chinese language copy but PA were happy to send out the English language version and accept the returns.
In this case i can see a lot of people not bothering but i expect next time a lot of people will be sending "please treble check for limited offer/DLC included version"

I'd be interested to know why on earth they split the early run and have some with and some without the DLC cards. not sure what purpose that serves.

No its not, You could easily get the game code within that and it'll just assign the graphics from whatever folder they are stored in for every version.

For a gameplay update its very conceivable that its within that size.

So is there anyone here that ordered from PA who DID get a DLC card? Kinda sucks since that's where my preorder shipped from, but eh, it's not a huge deal to me.

Not sure if these arrange videos were posted yet, but I mentioned the first one in IRC yesterday, and the second video (part 2) was just uploaded last night. Maybe its me, but this just looks way to easy, especially since no dodging is involved, just reflecting, and switching between characters while you build your meter up with the other. I must be missing something.

I got the Regular Edition with the DLC card from PA. Ordered around mid November.

The file size is a dead give-away. It's the same size as other game key files.

No, you're not. Arrange mode is basically Ultra mode without slowdown and with bullet absorbing. Think Samidare.

It's a bit retarded have the DLC on the disk and then giving the code away free.

Is it just the initial print that gets the code free, and later they will charge for it?

Who cares, man. That looks fun as shit.

The videos are hilarious, though. I just imagine someone without any knowledge of modern shooters at all watching them. The game would look like completely gobbledygook--visual sodomy.

Haha, I just watched those two vids of Arrange. He (deliberately?) died by standing on Spiritual Larsa and the second form which I guess is an Arrange-only exclusive.

I think there's some huge boss milking potential in Arrange after watching that.

I'm not getting my money’s worth if I'm not sitting around waiting for things to download!

I imagine the code can only be used once and it's to make people reluctant to buy a second hand copy. I'm sure a few games do it, Dragon Age is another one.
