Wow lots of responses. After three or so with no response I thought maybe nobody likes pussy music like me :(

Pale Saints, that's another band I really enjoyed, but I've only heard "In Ribbons". Lush is awesome too but I was only able to get into "Split". I'll try all these, thanks guys.

Rob, I had the same experience with 36 chambers, seems like it's one of those classics that's aged well yet it's hard to put it into context if you didn't hear it back then.

I've only heard the basics, not a favorite type of music. You listed one Swervedriver album, but have you heard Mezcal Head? That's all I've got for this subject. 8)

Not sure what you mean by pussy music . .

Many would consider Super Laydock's Air album to be pussy music but I like it. Not a lot of my favorites rock hard enough or are obscure enough for these guys. I have been playing Are You Experienced?, of all things, during my workouts. I do dig classic rock.

Just got their Peel sessions. Thumbs up so far...

Eric's Trip - Love Tara

This album is mostly acoustic stuff.

Eric's Trip - Peter EP

This is more rock 'n roll. Fuckin' slays.

PS

Does anyone have fullsize pics of the Headcoats. For a band that's against self-promotion they're pretty photogenic but I can only find thumbnail size ones.

I'm a die-hard, so I love Celebrate the Dark New Age. You'll do better, however, to start with Today's Active Lifestyles or Cor-Crane Secret.

I also think you might like

Pterodactyl - s/t
Wonder - Sirs

The latter is nice, noisy pop. First four songs or so are quality.

@ szycag:

Glad you liked Mezcal Head. Try out:

lenola - the swerving corpse (my favorite shoegazing by far, but it's not straight shoegazing)

codeine - frigid stars

flying saucer attack - rural psychedelia

King Tubby "King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown" I went on such a ska kick for awhile there that I couldn't even listen to a dub record. Well I got a hankerin and gave this a spin. It's the kind of thing that makes me want more dub records.

Prince Jammy "... Presents Kamikazi Dub" Not as good as King Tubby Meets the Rockers but still pretty sweet.

Lee Perry and Friends "Give me Power" It's the only Lee Perry I have on wax and having drug it out I'm reminded why I've only listened to it a handful of times in the past ten years. It's not very good.

Carlos Montoya "The Art of Flamenco" The king still rules.

Om (I forget the name) My brother burnt me this and I really need to get me some sort of legit copy because I really like it.

The Valley (no name yet?) They're rocking on stage harder than ever as of late but I don't like the direction they've taken with the new record. Fruity percussion? Five tracks of guitar with only one guitar player? Oh well I can still see a pure 3-piece at the shows.

Jackie Mittoo "Last Train to Skaville" I'm gonna say it: This is THE BEST album to ever come out of Jamaica ever.

The Gories "Houserockin" I was inspired to listen when MadSteel said that "Outta Here" was his favorite garage record ever. Well this is the only legit Gories record I've got so I figured I'd give it a spin. The Gories effing rule.

Esquivel "Music from a Sparkling Planet" Trying to find a sample used in the SFC game "Do Re Mi Fantasy". It isn't on this album.

Esquivel "Space Age Bachelor Pad Music" That sample comes from the song "Latin-Esque" on this disc. All music lovers should get with Esquivel. He is the absolute man.

Teengenerate "Smash Hits" I suppose if there was a gun to my head and I had to pick one and only one I would call this my favorite garage album ever. I made it a custom soundtrack and have been tearing around Outrun2 listening to "Sex Cow" at high volume. Oh yeah I had to add the song "My GTO" from the album "Savage" because that song is insane.

Weird Al "Off the Deep End" Beautiful. "Smells Like Nirvana" is unbelievably perfect. I <3 Al Yankovic.

Yes! It's funny though...every person other than my GF (who has great taste in music) that I've tried to turn onto the Gories has been left cold. *shrugs*

Word. Both full-lengths are lovely, sir. I'm listening to Sleep's Holy Mountain this morning. You might dig it.

I'm still listening to this and it's growing on me a little bit. Into the Pandemonium, though...

Graham Nash - Songs for Beginners (listening to vinyl version :P )

Now that you know it's nowhere
What's to stop you coming home
All you got to do is go there
Then you'll really realize what's going down
You went to a strange land searching for a truth
you felt was wrong
That's when the heartaches started
Though you're where you want to be
You're not where you belong

Heavy stuff for someone so deeply religious as you are. What would your rabbi think? Have you conferred with the leaders of the GOP for their stance on this issue?

He likes it 'cause Rotten calls someone a 'faggot' in New York. F17 is onto something though, I think I'm gonna call it 'Nevermind the Ballrocks' from hereon

I don't go the Temple because the nearest one is Reformed.

Love the music, but laugh at the lyrics (same for Ramones, The Clash, etc.).

And STFU.
