It's also *extremely* YMMV. Hardly a lock. It'd be great to get one at that price, yes, but even so: I think the $99 price would be for the Wi-Fi only. Seems the Wi-Fi/3G version, when it's been available, is $132.99. Again, big time YMMV.Friendly wrote:That's an insane price! Damn, given the oportunity I would instantly buy another one at that price.

3G version is a total waste of money in 99% of cases btw. You won't use it often if at all and if your service provider makes it hard to get a secondary SIM card it won't be worth it. Also if you have a phone with mobile hotspot functionality it definitely won't be worth it.
There are restrictions on it for both downloading and playing realtime games, the browser is worse than the one on your phone and while the youtube client is decent... you don't want to use that much if you don't have a good data plan.
Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
It should be noted that the European 3G version isn't sim-locked, which means you can choose any provider. US Vitas are locked to AT&T. Anyway, since Phantasy Star Online is the only game (I know of) which can actually be played via 3G, it's really quite useless (unless for some reason you feel the need to surf the internet and watch youtube on the go with PS Vita).

Just beat Ys: Memories of Celceta. Best game I've played on the Vita so far and one of the best RPGs I've played in years (not that I play a ton of them). Great game.

Demon Gaze will be released in April. North American release date is April 22, European date is April 25. Looks like only America is getting a limited edition, which will include this stuff:

Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
That's a pretty nice looking LE; nice there's some effort being put into Vita LEs.
On the subject of new coming Vita releases, whose interested in Toukiden: the Age of Demons for the Vita?

Watched a trailer for Demon Gaze, since I hadn't heard of it. Ratio of breasts to game play: 30/0
Eventually found out that it is a first person dungeon crawl/turn-based RPG, with some demon gathering. Sounds like SMT with less atmosphere and more fan service. Still somewhat interested though.

I heard it's a bit like Etrian Odyssey.

Shit. I hope this doesn't mean that Vita TV is out of the question for a NA release. Who am I kidding?

While we're at it, if you've got a hankering for something Totally Not Persona At All, go nuts.Sounds like SMT with less atmosphere and more fan service..
Both are apparently being localized, though only the latter is getting a physical release.

Nice looking game, but it's a Monster Hunter clone, isn't it? Not my cup of tea, I think.spadgy wrote: On the subject of new coming Vita releases, who's interested in Toukiden: the Age of Demons for the Vita?
Mind=0 on the other hand could be interesting.

I haven't been following this thread a lot, since now (vita get). What games would you consider must-haves?
And what's your opinion on Muramasa and Dragons Crown?
Any STGs besides sine mora jet? (including store – psp, ps1, psn)

For whatever it's worth they usually (to the best of my knowledge, anyways) don't really go much beyond the usual cornball otaku fan service; IIRC the most recent "Neptune" titles got M ratings, and while shamelessly suggestive and cheesecakey they're hardly pornographic.dunpeal2064 wrote:The thought of an "M" rated Compile Hearts game is terrifying

So, with that idea in mind, and using your exact same scale, can you give me the same ratio for, say, any given Dead Or Alive game?dunpeal2064 wrote:Watched a trailer for Demon Gaze, since I hadn't heard of it. Ratio of breasts to game play: 30/0
Just curious, honest.

1: US PS+ subscription (50$)
2: Dragon's Crown (40$)
3: Ys Celceta (40$)
4: Persona 4 Golden (20$)
5: Hotline Miami (10$)
6: Dokuro (3$)
If you insist on going with a EU account (bad idea), then you should still get PS+, but you must also get Wipeout 2048 in addition since it's not part of EU's instant game collection. A lot of games I have I could recommend, just not for current prices. Following sales and PS+'s instant game collection is pretty important.
Demon Gaze looks interesting, but if I wanted to play Japanese first person RPGs, there's a lot of choices and there's also a lot of other games I want to play being released around the same time. I have a feeling I'll end up skipping it entirely.
Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
You must get a US account. EU not an option.
Also, I'd rearrange Zell's priority list respectfully, and place Celceta above Crown. I wouldn't say there's a lot in it, but there's enough, for sure.

If you fancy some twitch/high-scoring action, 2D skateboarding title OlliOlli is superb.
STGs? Super Stardust Vita is great fun; as arena/twin-stick shooters go, it's got a bit of a feel of a classically structured shmup. Just a bit, but it's there.
And while I don't like dwelling on the negative, I thought Hotline Miami was rather mediocre; style over substance.
EDIT:Oh, and while not a Vita exclusive at all, Rymdkapsel is wicked. A realtime strategy/God-game like Sim City, set in space, and stripped back to the minimal elements, meaning very fast, compelling play. It makes much about other classic God-games feel somewhat superfluous, and unlike Tiny Tower et al, it strips it back without making it thoughtless casual fodder.
Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
There's a PSN sale on... Waiting for the 19th in order to pick up Tearaway, Spelunky and The Last of Us (PS3).
There's probably one or two games I missed (Call of Juarez: Gunslinger (PS3), Resi combo etc), but they're not as essential right now.
TxK will also be out by then. And let's not forget that Ys Celceta is also due a few days after.
Sony Vita lineup for Feb 2014 is looking to be A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh crap that reminds me, still have an EU PS+ code available for cheaper than the going rate if anyone wants it. Maybe I should just eBay it...

Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
I wasn't recommending it based on style, I think it looks pretty crappy and most of the time I play it with sound off. It's one of the few games I have where I don't feel turning sound off significantly detracts from the experience.spadgy wrote:And while I don't like dwelling on the negative, I thought Hotline Miami was rather mediocre; style over substance.
I just like it because it's fun, you get better as you play it and it's very helpful to get you used to Vita's thumbsticks (don't use autoaim).
Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
Perhaps I should give it another chance. I adore top-down run 'n' guns like Shock Troopers, but Hotline Miami just seemed to lack the scoring purity I long for. And I appreciate most people seem to like it very much, so I'm certainly in the minority.ZellSF wrote:I wasn't recommending it based on style, I think it looks pretty crappy and most of the time I play it with sound off. If any European Vita owners are interested in the aforementioned silly roguelike Sorcery Saga, it's headed your way soon.
Re: The PS Vita Thread - Remote Play for all PS4 Games
I just wanted to buy Startrike Delta but I found the DLC "Star Fighter Pack", well I'll buy this later I thought and keeped scrolling through the store. There I also found the "Starstrike Delta Advanced Star Fighter Pack" which costs more than the actual game. Is this just another DLC (a bigger DLC than the Star Fighter Pack I guess) or does this include the main game as well as the Star Fighter Pack - DLC?

LOL, this took me a moment to decypher. You mean Super Stardust Delta. And the DLC is not called "Star Fighter Pack" but "Advanced Star Fighter Pack", and the bigger/more expensive version you saw is the Super Stardust Delta + Advanced Star Fighter Pack Bundle. That's the game + DLC included, which is what I would recommend buying.okerlo wrote:I just wanted to buy Startrike Delta but I found the DLC "Star Fighter Pack", well I'll buy this later I thought and keeped scrolling through the store.
